שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם

Today, we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s,

The date is February 26, 2022

February -- month of Februa

Latin dies februatus "day of purification"

Februarius had 28 days, until circa 450 BC when it had 23 or 24 days on some of every second year, until Julius when it had 29 days on every fourth year and 28 days otherwise.

Februa is the Roman festival of purification held on February fifteenth.

Intercalaris -- inter-calendar month

Latin Intercalaris "inter-calendar"
Intercalaris had 27 days until the month was abolished by Julius.

God has His own Calendar:

We are now in the 12th month of God called Adar, day 24

Esth.3 [7] …12th month Adar אֲדָר

We read from law and the prophets every Sabbath like they did in the Book of Acts 13 [15] … after the reading of the law and the prophets…

As Yeshua said it:

Luke 24 [44] And Yeshua said unto them, These are the words which I spoke unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

the law of Moses (not used by most churches today)

the prophets (not used by most churches today)

The Word of God - Torah, Prophets and Writings

Ta Na K is an acronym for:

T = Torah (law, teachings) - first 5 books of Moses

N = Navieem or prophets (pl. sounds like - Na vi eem)

K = Ke'tuvim or writings (psalms etc.)

Second Adar soon… next week

Today’s topic:

A few requirements to please Yehovah

Deut. 10 [12] And now, Israelwhat does Yehovah your God require of youbut to fear Yehovah your God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve Yehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul, [13] To keep the commandments of Yehovah, and his statutes, which I command you this day for your good?

[14] Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is Yehovah's your God, the earth also, with all that therein is.
[15] Only Yehovah had a delight in your fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all people, as it is this day.
[16]
Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiff necked.
[17] For Yehovah your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regards not persons, nor takes reward:[18] He does execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loves the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.

[19] Love you therefore the stranger: for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
[20You shall fear Yehovah your God; him shall you serve, and to him shall you cleave, and swear by his name.
[21] He is your praise, and he is your God, that had done for you these great and terrible things, which your eyes have seen.
[22] Your fathers went down into Egypt with threescore and ten persons; and now Yehovah your God had made you as the stars of heaven for multitude.

Josh. 4 [15]Yehovah spoke unto Joshua, saying,
[16] Command the priests that bear the ark of the testimony, that they come up out of Jordan.
[17] Joshua therefore commanded the priests, saying, Come you up out of Jordan.
[18] And it came to pass, when the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of Yehovah were come up out of the midst of Jordan, and the soles of the priests' feet were lifted up unto the dry land, that the waters of Jordan returned unto their place, and flowed over all his banks, as they did before.
[19] And the people came up out of Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, in the east border of Jericho.
[20] And those twelve stones, which they took out of Jordan, did Joshua pitch in Gilgal.
[21] And he spoke unto the children of Israel, saying, When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean these stones?
[22] Then you shall let your children know, saying, Israel came over this Jordan on dry land.
[23] For Yehovah your God dried up the waters of Jordan from before you, until you were passed over, as Yehovah your God did to the Red sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were gone over:
[24] That all the people of the earth might know the hand of Yehovah, that it is mighty: that you might fear Yehovah your God for ever.

Mic. 6 [8] He had showed you, O man, what is good; and what does Yehovah require of youbut to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God

Let's summarize some of the Yehovah's requirements for us:

Deut.10 [12] And now, Israel, what does Yehovah your God require of the you..

Mic. 6 [8] He had showed you, O man, what is good; and what does Yehovah require of you:

1 - to fear Yehovah your God

2 - to walk in all His ways

3 - to love Him

4 - to Serve Yehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul

5 - to keep the commandments of Yehovah, and His statutes, which I command you this day for your good

6 - Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiff necked

7 - regard not persons

8 - do not take reward

9 - execute true judgment

10 - love the stranger, fatherless and widow

11 - Him shall you cleave (Yehovah)

12 - swear by His name (Yehovah)

13 - to do justly

14 - to love mercy

15 - to walk humbly with your God

The Fear of Yehovah is step one:

Pss. 111 [10] The fear of Yehovah is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endures forever.

Prov. 1 [7] The fear of Yehovah is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Prov. 9 [10] The fear of Yehovah is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Beginning

Definition: first, beginning, best, chief, beginning, first, chief, choice part

Let's read a few "Fear of Yehovah scriptures"

Pss. 19 [1] The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows his handiwork.
[2] Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night shows knowledge.
[3] There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
[4] Their line is gone out through all the earth and their words to the end of the world. In them had he set a tabernacle for the sun,
[5] Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoices as a strong man to run a race.
[6] His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

[7] The law of Yehovah is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of Yehovah is sure, making wise the simple.

[8] The statutes of Yehovah are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of Yehovah is pure, enlightening the eyes.

[9] The fear of Yehovah is clean, (fair, pure (-ness). enduring for ever: the judgments of Yehovah are true and righteous altogether.

[10] More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
[11] Moreover by them is your servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
[12] Who can understand his errors? Cleanse you me from secret faults.
[13] Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
[14] Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in your sight, O Yehovah, my strength, and my redeemer.

How to get and understand the fear of Yehovah

Prov. 2

[1] My son, if you will receive my words, and hide my commandments with you;
[2] So that you incline your ear unto wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding;
[3] Yea, if you cry after knowledge, and lift up your voice for understanding;
[4] If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hid treasures;
[5] Then shall you understand the fear of Yehovah, and find the knowledge of God.

[6] For Yehovah gives wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
[7] He lays up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.
[8] He keeps the paths of judgment, and preserves the way of his saints.
[9] Then shall you understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.
[10] When wisdom enters into your heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto your soul;
[11] Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:
[12] To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaks froward things;
[13] Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
[14] Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;
[15] Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths….

Fear, Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding all go together

Job  28

[1] Surely there is a vein for the silver, and a place for gold where they fine it.
[2] Iron is taken out of the earth, and brass is molten out of the stone.
[3] He sets an end to darkness, and searches out all perfection: the stones of darkness, and the shadow of death.
[4] The flood breaks out from the inhabitant; even the waters forgotten of the foot: they are dried up, they are gone away from men.
[5] As for the earth, out of it cometh bread: and under it is turned up as it were fire.
[6] The stones of it are the place of sapphires: and it had dust of gold.

[7There is a path which no fowl knows, and which the vulture's eye had not seen:
[8] The lion's whelps have not trodden it, nor the fierce lion passed by it.
[9] He puts forth his hand upon the rock; he overturns the mountains by the roots.
[10] He cuts out rivers among the rocks; and his eye sees every precious thing.
[11] He binds the floods from overflowing; and the thing that is hid brings he forth to light.

[12] But where shall wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding?

[13] Man knows not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living.
[14] The depth saidIt is not in me: and the sea said, It is not with me.
[15] It cannot be gotten for gold; neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof.
[16] It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.
[17] The gold and the crystal cannot equal it: and the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold.
[18] No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom is above rubies.
[19] The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, neither shall it be valued with pure gold.
[20] Whence then cometh wisdom? And where is the place of understanding?
[21] Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.
[22] Destruction and death say, we have heard the fame thereof with our ears.
[23] God understands the way thereof, and he knows the place thereof.
[24] For he looks to the ends of the earth, and sees under the whole heaven;
[25] To make the weight for the winds; and he weighs the waters by measure.
[26] When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder:
[27] Then did he see it, and declare it; he prepared it, yea, and searched it out.
[28] And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of Yehovah, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

Just a few more fear of the Lord scriptures

Deut. 6
[2] That you might fear Yehovah your God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command you, you, and your son, and your son's son, all the days of your life; and that your days may be prolonged.

[13] You shall fear Yehovah your God, and serve him, and shall swear by his name.

[24] And Yehovah commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear Yehovah our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.

Again:

Deut. 10 [12] And now, Israel, what does Yehovah your God require of you, but to fear Yehovah your God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve Yehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul, [13] To keep the commandments of Yehovah, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for your good?
[14] Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is Yehovah's your God, the earth also, with all that therein is.
[15] Only Yehovah had a delight in your fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all people, as it is this day.
[16]
Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiff necked.
[17] For Yehovah your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regards not persons, nor takes reward:
[18] He does execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loves the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.
[19] Love you therefore the stranger: for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
[20] You shall fear Yehovah your God; him shalt you serve, and to him shall you cleave, and swear by his name.
[21] He is your praise, and he is your God, that had done for thee these great and terrible things, which your eyes have seen.

Pss. 33 [8] Let all the earth fear Yehovah: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.

Pss. 34 [9] O fear Yehovah, you his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

Pss. 115 [9] O Israel, trust you in Yehovah: he is their help and their shield.
[10] O house of Aaron, trust in
Yehovah: he is their help and their shield.
[11] You that fear
Yehovah, trust in Yehovah: he is their help and their shield.
[12]
Yehovah had been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.
[13] He will bless them that fear
Yehovah, both small and great.
[14]
Yehovah shall increase you more and more, you and your children.
[15] You are blessed of
Yehovah which made heaven and earth.
[16] The heaven, even the heavens, are
Yehovah 's: but the earth had he given to the children of men.
[17] The dead praise not
Yehovah, neither any that go down into silence.
[18] But we will bless
Yehovah from this time forth and for evermore. Praise Yah, Yehovah.

Pss. 118 [4] Let them now that fear Yehovah say, that his mercy endures for ever.

Pss. 135 [20] Bless Yehovah, O house of Levi: you that fear Yehovah, bless Yehovah.

Prov. 10 [27] The fear of Yehovah prolongs days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

Prov. 14 [26] In the fear of Yehovah is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge. [27] The fear of Yehovah is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

Prov. 15 [16] Better is little with the fear of Yehovah than great treasure and trouble therewith.

[33] The fear of Yehovah is the instruction of wisdom; and before honor is humility.

Prov. 16 [6] By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of Yehovah men depart from evil.

Prov. 19 [23] The fear of Yehovah tends to life: and he that had it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

Prov. 22 [4] By humility and the fear of Yehovah are riches, and honor, and life.

Ecc. 7 [16] Be not righteous over much; neither make yourself over wise: why should you destroy yourself?
[17] Be not over much wicked, neither be you foolish: why should you die before your time?
[18] It is good that you should take hold of this; yea, also from this withdraw not your hand:
for he that fears God shall come forth of them all.

Ecc. 8 [12] Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him:

A few Fear God always scriptures:

Prov. 23 [17] Let not your heart envy sinners: but be you in the fear of Yehovah all the day long.

Deut. 5 [29] O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!

Deut. 6 [24] And Yehovah commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear Yehovah our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.

Deut. 14 [23] And you shall eat before Yehovah your God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of your corn, of your wine, and of your oil, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks; that you may learn to fear Yehovah your God always.

Phil. 2 [12] Wherefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. [13] For it is God which works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
[14] Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
[15] That you may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom you shine as lights in the world…

1 Pet. 3 [13] … who is he that will harm you, if you be followers of that which is good?
[14] But and if you suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are you: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled; [15] … sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and
be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: [16] Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Messiah.[17] For it is better, if the will of God be so, that you suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

Yeshua talked about the "Fear of Yehovah

Matt. 10 [28] And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soulbut rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Luke 12 [1] In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware you of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
[2] For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
[3] Therefore whatsoever you have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which you have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

[4] And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

[5] But I will forewarn you whom you shall fear: Fear Him, which after He had killed had power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear Him.

Mark 9 [43] And if your hand offend you, cut it off: it is better for you to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
[44] Where their worm dies not, and the fire is not quenched.

[45] And if your foot offend you, cut it off: it is better for you to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
[46] Where their worm dies not, and the fire is not quenched.
[47] And if your eye offend you, pluck it out: it is better for you to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:[48] Where their worm dies not, and the fire is not quenched.

John on the isle called Patmos

Rev. 19 [1] And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, HaleluYah; Salvation, and glory, and honor, and power, unto the Lord our God:
[2] For true and righteous are his judgments: for he had judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and had avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.
[3] And again they said, HaleluYah. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.
[4] And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; HaleluYah
[5] And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all you his servants, and
you that fear him, both small and great.

[6] And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thundering, saying, HaleluYah: for the Lord Yehovah omnipotent reigns.
[7] Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come and his wife had made herself ready.
[8] And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
[9] And he said unto me,
Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he said unto me,

These are the true sayings of God.

In closing for today:

From the beginning to the conclusion - "Fear God", and keep His commandments

1Pet.2 [17] Honor all men. Love the brotherhood, Fear GodHonor the king.

Ecc. 12 [13] Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:  Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

[14] For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
