Ishmael - Esau - Amalek - and the fight goes on today

read Gen.14 Gen.14[7] And they returned, and came to En-mishpat, which is Kadesh, and smote all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites that dwelt in Hazezon-tamar.

Gal.4[28] Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.[29] But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.[30] Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.[31] So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.

Gen.25 [5] And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac.[6] But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country.[7] And these are the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived, an hundred threescore and fifteen years.[8] Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people.
17 And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the ghost and died; and was gathered unto his people.[18] And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: and he died in the presence of all his brethren.
[19] And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son: Abraham begat Isaac:[20] And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan-aram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.[21] And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.[22] And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to inquire of the LORD.[23] And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.[24] And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.[25] And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.[26] And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them.[27] And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents.[28] And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob.[29] And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint:[30] And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.[31] And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.[32] And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?[33] And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.[34] Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.

Heb.12[16] Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.[17] For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

Mal.1[2] I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob, [3] And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.

read Rom.9 Rom.9[13] As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

Heb.11[20] By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.

Gen.26[34] And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite:

BDB Definition: Hittite = “descendant of Heth” - the nation descended from Heth, the 2nd son of Canaan; once inhabitants of central Anatolia (modern Turkey), later in north Lebanon

Gen.27[46] And Rebekah said to Isaac, I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth: if Jacob take a wife of the daughters of Heth, such as these which are of the daughters of the land, what good shall my life do me?

Gen.36[1] Now these are the generations of Esau, who is Edom.
[12] And Timna was concubine to Eliphaz Esau's son; and she bare to Eliphaz Amalek: these were the sons of Adah Esau's wife.

[16] Duke Korah, duke Gatam, and duke Amalek: these are the dukes that came of Eliphaz in the land of Edom; these were the sons of Adah.

Exod.17[8] Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim. [9] And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand. [10] So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. [11] And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. [12] But Moses' hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.[13] And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.[14] And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.[15] And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovah-nissi:
[16] For he said, Because the LORD hath sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.

1Sam.27[8] And David and his men went up, and invaded the Geshurites, and the Gezrites, and the Amalekites: for those nations were of old the inhabitants of the land, as thou goest to Shur, even unto the land of Egypt.

Obad.1[21] And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD's.
