-----------------------------------------------

Let's begin

-----------------------------------------------

What is sin?

1 John, chapter 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law : for sin is the transgression of the law.

Going around the commandments:

Romans 7:8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment , wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.

11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.

**Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith ; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Romans 3:31"31": Do we then make void the law through faith ? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

Romans 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2: God forbid.

How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? "3": Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? "4": Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. "5": For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: "6": Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

"15": What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Romans 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid . Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.

James 4: Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

Where are the ten commandments located in scriptures? Exod. 20 and Deut. 5

--------------

What are the ten commandments?

--------------

Are you keeping them?

Deut.4 [13] And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.

Exod.20

1 - And God spake all these words, saying, I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

2 - Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

3 - Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

4 - Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God : in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

5 - Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

6 - Thou shalt not kill.

7 - Thou shalt not commit adultery.

8 - Thou shalt not steal.

9 - Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

10 - Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

Matt.22 Yeshua - Jesus said:

Commandments 1 to 4

[36] Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

[37] Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

[38] This is the first and great commandment.

Commandments 6 to 10

[39] And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

[40] On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

1John.2[4] He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Rev.21 [8] But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars , shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

John.14: 15 If ye love me, keep my commandments .

John.15 [10 ] If ye keep my commandments , ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

Ecclesiastes (Qoheleth), Chapter 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter : Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14: For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

--------------

Are the commandments applicable for today? ( 2007 and "always")

Deuteronomy 18:22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously : thou shalt not be afraid of him

Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Be perfect ?

The world has implanted in our minds and consciousness through advertisement on television, videos, DVDs, CDs and other media the meaning of the word perfect. We always hear about the perfect weight, shape, smile, image etc. We need to look into the word of God and see through the scriptures the meaning of the word perfect.

A few examples of this would be:

1 - The world says be sexy, God says be holy. ( Leviticus 19:2 ...Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy.)

2 - The world says, no one's perfect. God says be perfect as My Father which is in heaven is perfect. ( Matthew 5:48 )

3 - The world says, everyone sins, Yeshua / Jesus say, "Go and sin no more". (John 8:11: ... go, and sin no more ).

A simple understanding of being perfect is examining yourselves if you are keeping the 10 commandments. You know which ones you are keeping and which ones you are not keeping.

In very simple terms, you are either doing something or you are not, that simple, yes or no, 0 or 1, on or off.

You might need to make a few ajustments in you life. :-)

2 Corinthians, chapter 13:5: Examine yourselves , whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Yeshua the Messiah /Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

Deuteronomy 8:2 And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments , or no.

***Serving the Lord is not a guessing game. We have no excuse not to know. We have God's Word as a study guide. God gave us one life span and one Book, there will be a test!

Deuteronomy 18:13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.

1 Kings 8:61 Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.

Matthew 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect , go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

2Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect , be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

Philippians 3:15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect , be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

2Timothy 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect , throughly furnished unto all good works.

Rom.12 [ 2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

What is love? Kisses, hugs, ice cream, cake and cookies sounds nice...but John says:

What does born again mean?

When we are born again, we are to renounce the old Man. We should not bring over to the new man the old traditions, feasts or anything from the past life of sin. We are to be first babes in Messiah, 1Pet.2[2] As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.

When you are born again, you have to realize as a gentile, you are graffed into the natural branches and all are connected to the Messiah Yeshua who is the VINE. You are now equal to those who received and keep God's Commandments. We are all one in Messiah.

2Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new .

Ephesians 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man , so making peace;

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Jer. 31:31-37: Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD; for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name: If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever. Hath God cast away his people?

Romans 11:1-5 I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid . For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying, Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life. But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
