Shabbat Shalom

שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם

Today, we sadly use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s.

Today’s date is Jan. 21, 2023

January -- Janus's month

Middle English Januarie
Latin Januarius "of Janus"
Latin Janu(s) "Janus" + -arius "ary (pertaining to)"
Latin Januarius mensis "month of Janus"

Janus is the Roman god of gates and doorways, depicted with two faces looking in opposite directions. His festival month is January. Januarius had 29 days, until Julius when it became 31 days long.

The God of Israel has His own Calendar: we are now in the 10th month of God, Tevethday 28

Esth.2 [16] So Esther was taken unto king Ahasuerus into his house royal in the tenth month, which is the month Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign. טֵבֵת

Judgment

A short review

מִשְׁפָּט

mishpât

a verdict (favorable or unfavorable) pronounced judicially, especially a sentence or formal decree or divine law, individually or collectively), including the act, the place, the suit, the crime, and the penalty; charge, crime, determination, discretion, disposing, due, time (of judgment), decision (in law), sentence, decision (of judgment), execution (of judgment)

שָׁפַט shaphat - judge

Meaning: 1) to judge, governs, vindicate (clear), punish

We are all in One Body, Jews or Gentiles

Exod.12 [49] One law shall be to him that is home born, and unto the stranger that sojourns among you.

Pss.101 [1] I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto you, Yehovah, will I sing.

Pss.103 [6] Yehovah executes righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

Some Torah

Deut.24

[17] You shall not pervert the judgment of the stranger, nor of the fatherless; nor take a widow's raiment to pledge: [18] But you shall remember that you were a bondman in Egypt, and Yehovah your God redeemed you thence: therefore I command you to do this thing.

Deut.25

[1] If there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that the judges may judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked.

Deut.26

[16] This day Yehovah your God hath commanded you to do these statutes and judgments: you shall therefore keep and do them with all your heart, and with all your soul.

[17] You have avouched Yehovah this day to be your God, and to walk in his ways, and to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and to hearken unto his voice…

Deut.27 [19] Cursed be he that perverts the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Deut.30[16] In that I command you this day to love Yehovah your God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that you may live and multiply: and Yehovah your God shall bless you in the land where you go to possess it.

Deut.32

[1] Give ear, O you heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
[2] My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:
[3] Because I will publish the name of
Yehovah: ascribe you greatness unto our God.
[4] He is the Rock, his work is perfect
:
for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

[5] They have corrupted themselves; their spot is not of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation.

[39] See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.
[40] For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live forever.

[41] If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me.

[42] I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy.

Exod.23

[2] You shall not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shall you speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest / pervert judgment

[6] You shall not wrest / pervert the judgment of your poor in his cause.

Lev.18

[4] You shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am Yehovah your God.

[5] You shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am Yehovah.

[6] None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am Yehovah.

Nakedness:

[7] The nakedness of your father, or the nakedness of your mother, shall you not uncover: she is your mother; you shall not uncover her nakedness.
[8] The nakedness of your father's wife shall you not uncover: it is your father's nakedness.
[9] The nakedness of your sister, the daughter of your father, or daughter of your mother, whether she be born at home, or born abroad, even their nakedness you shall not uncover.
[10] The nakedness of your son's daughter, or of your daughter's daughter, even their nakedness you shall not uncover: for theirs is your own nakedness.
[11] The nakedness of your father's wife's daughter, begotten of your father, she is your sister, you shall not uncover her nakedness.
[12] You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father's sister: she is your father's near kinswoman.
[13] You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother's sister: for she is your mother's near kinswoman.
[14] You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father's brother, you shall not approach to his wife: she is your aunt.
[15] You shall not uncover the nakedness of your daughter in law: she is your son's wife; you shall not uncover her nakedness.
[16] You shall not uncover the nakedness of your brother's wife: it is your brother's nakedness.
[17] You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter, neither shall you take her son's daughter, or her daughter's daughter, to uncover her nakedness; for they are her near kinswomen: it is wickedness.
[18] Neither shall you take a wife to her sister, to vex her, to uncover her nakedness, beside the other in her life time.
[19] Also you shall not approach unto a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is put apart for her uncleanness.
[20] Moreover you shall not lie carnally with your neighbor’s wife, to defile thyself with her.

[21] And you shall not let any of your seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shall you profane the name of your God: I am Yehovah.

[22] You shall not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
[23] Neither shall you lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.

[24] Defile not yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:

[25] And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomit out her inhabitants.

[26] You shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourns among you:

[27] (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;)

[28] That the land spue not you out also, when you defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you.
[29] For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people.

Lev.19

[15] You shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: you shall not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shall you judge your neighbor.

[35] You shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in mete yard, in weight, or in measure.

[37] Therefore shall you observe all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: I am Yehovah.

Lev.26

[1] You shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall you set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am Yehovah your God.
[2] You shall keep my Sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am Yehovah

[3] If you walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them;
[4] Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

[46] These are the statutes and judgments and laws, which Yehovah made between him and the children of Israel in mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.

Psalm 1

[1] Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful.
[2] But his delight is in the law of Yehovah; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
[3] And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings  forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
[4] The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
[5] Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
[6] For Yehovah knows the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

A few Proverbs:

Prov.13

[23] Much food is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed for want / lack of judgment.

Prov.16

[10] A divine sentence is in the lips of the king: his mouth transgresses not in judgment.

Prov.17

[23] A wicked man takes a gift (bribe) out of the bosom to pervert the ways of judgment.

Prov.18

[5] It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to overthrow the righteous in judgment.

Prov.19

[28] An ungodly witness scorns judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devours iniquity.

[29] Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.

Prov.20s

[8] A king that sits in the throne of judgment scatters away all evil with his eyes.

Prov.21

[3] To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to Yehovah than sacrifice.

[7] The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment.

[15] It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

Prov.24

[23] These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.

Prov.28

[5] Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek Yehovah understand all things.

Brother Jude

Jude.1

[1] Jude, the servant of Yeshua the Messiah, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Yeshua the Messiah, and called:
[2] Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.
[3] Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that you should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
[4] For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Yeshua the Messiah.
[5] I will therefore put you in remembrance, though you once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

[6] And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

[7] Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

[8] Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.
[9] Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, Yehovah rebuke you.

[10] But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.

[11] Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.

[12] These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withers, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
[13] Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.

[14] And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
[15] To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

[16] These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaks great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.

[17] But, beloved, remember you the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah;
[18] How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
[19] These are they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
[20] But you, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
[21] Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah unto eternal life.
[22] And of some have compassion, making a difference:
[23] And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
[24] Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
[25] To the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

Brother Peter

1 Peter 4: [17] For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God:

and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

[18] And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

[19] Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

2 Pet.2

[1] But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying Yehovah that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
[2] And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
[3] And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingers not, and their damnation slumbers not.

[4] For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

[5] And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

[6] And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

[7] And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
[8] (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
[9] Yehovah knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto
the Day of Judgment to be punished:

[10] But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, self willed, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

Brother John

Rev.14

[1] And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.
[2] And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:
[3] And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.
[4] These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goes. These were redeemed from among men, being the first fruits unto God and to the Lamb.
[5] And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

[6] And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
[7] Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him;
for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

Rev.16

[1] And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.
[2] And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.

[3] And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.
[4] And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.

[5] And I heard the angel of the waters say, You are righteous, O Lord, which are, and was, and shall be, because you have judged thus.
[6] For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and you have given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.
[7] And I heard another out of the altar say,
Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are your judgments.

Judging with your own judgment is wrong; use God’s Word to judge all matters.

Pss.82

[1] God stands in the congregation of the mighty (God); He judges among the gods.
[2] How long will you judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.
[3] Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.
[4] Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.
[5] They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.
[6] I have said, You are gods; (here in God’s stead now) and all of you are children of the most High.
[7] But you shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.
[8] Arise, O God, judge the earth: for you shall inherit all nations.

John 7 [24] Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

James 2 [13] For he, God shall have judgment without mercy, that hath showed no mercy; and mercy rejoices against judgment.

Heb.9 [27] … it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment
