Last day of the Feast of unleavened bread חַג הַמַּצּוֹת

 A holy convocation, a Sabbath

----------------

 Let’s pray

 Today is April 3, 2013

Yehovah has His own calendar – Today is the 21th day of ha Aviv / Nisan

----------------

Today’s Topic

The last day of the Feast of unleavened bread, a holy convocation, a Sabbath

Exod.12

[15] Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.

[16] And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you; no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may be done of you.

[17] And ye shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this selfsame day have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt: therefore shall ye observe this day in your generations by an ordinance for ever.

[18] In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even.

[19] Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses: for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in the land.

[20] Ye shall eat nothing leavened; in all your habitations shall ye eat unleavened bread.

Lev.23

[1] And Yehovah spake unto Moses, saying,
[2] Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of Yehovah, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.
[3] Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of Yehovah in all your dwellings.

[4] These are the feasts of Yehovah, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.
[5] In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is Yehovah's passover.

[6] And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto Yehovah: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.

[7] In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.

[8] But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Yehovah seven days: in the seventh day is an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.

Deut.16

[1] Observe the month of Abib, and keep the passover unto Yehovah thy God: for in the month of Abib Yehovah thy God brought thee forth out of Egypt by night.
[2] Thou shalt therefore sacrifice the passover unto Yehovah thy God, of the flock and the herd, in the place which Yehovah shall choose to place his name there.

[3] Thou shalt eat no leavened bread with it; seven days shalt thou eat unleavened bread therewith, even the bread of affliction;

for thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt in haste: that thou mayest remember the day when thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of thy life.

2Kgs.4[42] And there came a man from Baal-shalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the firstfruits, twenty loaves of barley, and full ears of corn in the husk thereof. And he said, Give unto the people, that they may eat.

1Cor.5[8] Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Reminder:

We are counting the "7 Sabbaths" שֶׁבַע שַׁבָּתוֹת not omers as Judaism and Messianics do.

This Saturday, April 6, 2013, will be the first of seven sabbaths we were told to count in Scripture.

An "omer" עֹמֶר is a "sheaf" of barley

עמר  omer  - A dry measure of 1/10 ephah (about 2 liters

Lev.23 [15] And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete:

[16] Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; חֲמִשִּׁים יוֹם and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto Yehovah

Feast of Harvest Hag ha katseer - חַג הַקָּצִיר

Pentecost πεντηκοστή - pentēkostē

The firstfruits of wheat harvest

Exod. 34 [22] And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest …

-----------------------

All the apostles and disciples tarried there as Yeshua said for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as spoken by the prophet Joel

Many Jews from around the world were there for the Feast of Weeks – Pentecost

Acts.2 [1] And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

[2] And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
[3] And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
[4] And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

[5] And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

---------------------------

Apostle Paul keeping Feast of Weeks after the resurrection of Messiah:

Acts.20[16] For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.

1Cor.16[8] But I will tarry at Ephesus until Pentecost.

--------------------

I heard some people are NOT keeping the Sabbaths as prescribed in Scripture.

Let’s go over this again:

This pertains to any Sabbath

This is how simple it is:

The Sabbath is the 4th Commandment of the covenant given to us at Mount Sinai in the 3rd month, Sivan

[9] Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

[10] But the seventh day is the Sabbath of Yehovah thy God:

-----

Rev.1 [10] I was in the Spirit on Yehovah's Day - (The Sabbath Exod. 20:10)

-----

Back to verse 10

in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

[11] For in six days Yehovah made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Yehovah blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

2 - nor finding thine own pleasure,

3 - nor speaking thine own words:

[14] Then shalt thou delight thyself in Yehovah; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of Yehovah hath spoken it.
