Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s.

Today is March 11th, 2017

March -- Mars' month

Middle English March(e)
Anglo-French March(e)
Old English
Martius
Latin
Martius "of Mars"
Latin Marti(s) "Mars" + -us (adj. suffix)
Latin
Martius mensis "month of Mars"

Martius has always had 31 days.

March was the original beginning of the year, and the time for the resumption of war.

Mars is the Roman god of war. He is identified with the Greek god Ares.

------------------

 Yehovah God has His own calendar, which is deleted in the world

We are now in the 12th the month of the God of Israel called Adar, 12th day

Esth.3 [7] In the first month, that is, the month Nisan,נִיסָן  in the twelfth year of king Ahasuerus, they cast Pur, that is, the lot, before Haman from day to day, and from month to month, to the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar. אֲדָר

Adar אֲדָר - to become glorious, make honorable; a cloak, mantle

Question: So why are we here today?

Answer: We were told to remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy.

Sabbath is the “4th Commandment” 0f the 10 Commandments

Today is the rest of the holy Sabbath unto Yehovah

I will explain the Sabbath day from Scripture, the 7th day.

The Sabbath is not a service for an hour and a half, but a 24 hour period, the seventh day.

Not any day you pick.

This is how simple Sabbath is:

Gen.2 [1] Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

[2] And on the seventh day God ended his work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made.

[3] And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it He had rested from all His work which God created and made.

-------------

Lev. 23 [32] … from even (sunset) unto even (sunset), shall ye celebrate your Sabbath.

The Sabbath is the 4th Commandment of the covenant given to us at Mount Sinai in the 3rd month, Sivan

The 10 commandments are in Exod. 20 and Deut. 5 - if you just know this, you will know more than most ministers.

זכר Remember

zâkar - zaw-kar' - A primitive root; properly to mark (so as to be recognized), that is, to remember; by implication to mention; make mention of, be mindful, recount, record (-er), remember, make to be remembered, bring (call, come, keep, put) to (in) remembrance, be still, think on, well.

Ex. 20 [8] Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

[9] Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

[10] But the seventh day is the Sabbath of Yehovah thy God:

in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

[11] For in six days Yehovah made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Yehovah blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.

--------

Isa. 58 [13] If thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of Yehovah, honorable; and shalt honor him,

1 - not doing thine (your) own ways

2 - nor finding thine (your) own pleasure

3 - nor speaking thine (your) own words:

[14] Then shalt thou delight thyself in Yehovah; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of Yehovah hath spoken it.

------------

Lev. 23 [3] Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest, an "holy convocation"; ye shall do no work therein: it is the Sabbath of Yehovah in all your dwellings.

Dwelling:מושׁב  môshâv - seat, assembly, dwelling-place, dwelling, your situation, location, (at) time of dwelling.

All Sabbaths are "holy convocations, a miqra kodesh"

Lev.23

[1] And Yehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

[2] Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, concerning the feasts of Yehovah, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are My feasts.

[3] Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest,
an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the Sabbath of Yehovah in all your dwellings.

[4] These are the feasts of
Yehovah, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.

מקרא miqra: convocation, convoking, reading, a calling  together, sacred assembly, something called out, that is, a public meeting (the act, the persons, or the place); also a rehearsal

קדשׁ kodesh: a sacred place or thing; consecrated, dedicated, hallowed, holiness, saint, sanctuary, apartness, sacredness, separateness, apartness, sacredness, holiness: All to the God of Israel.

------------

Buying and selling is evil on the Sabbath.

Neh. 13 [16] There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem.

[17] Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, what evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the Sabbath day?

-------------------

We read from the law and the prophets every Sabbath like they did in the Book of Acts.

Acts: 13 [15] And after the reading of the law and the prophets…

Luke 24 [44] And Yeshua said unto them, These are the words which I spoke unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning Me.

The Word of God - Torah, Prophets and Writings (psalms), as Yeshua put it.

Ta Na Kk is an acronym for:

T = Torah (law, teachings) - first 5 books God gave to Moses

N = Navi' eem or prophets (pl. sounds like - Na vi eem)

K = Ke'tuvim or writings (psalms etc.)

At this point, there were neither gospels nor letters written.

Just a note: Daylight Saving Time: Sunday, March 12, 2017, 2:00 am clocks “spring” forward 1 hour

------------------------------------------

Today’s Topic:

Love other believers even “as yourself”

Let’s start:

Matt.22 [35] Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting Him, and saying,

[36] Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

[37] Yeshua said unto him, Thou shalt love Yehovah thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

[38] This is the first and great commandment.

Exod.20

[1] And God spake all these words, saying,

Commandment one:

[2] I am Yehovah thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

[3] Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Commandment two:

[4] Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
[5] Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I Yehovah thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
[6] And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

Commandment three:

[7] Thou shalt not take the name of Yehovah thy God in vain; for Yehovah will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
[8] Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Commandment four:

[9] Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
[10] But the seventh day is the sabbath of Yehovah thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
[11] For in six days Yehovah made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Yehovah blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

--------------------------

Back to Matthew 22:

[39] And the second is like unto it,

Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

[40] On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

----------------

Paul states:

Rom.13 [8] Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

[9] For this,

Commandment seven - Thou shalt not commit adultery,

Commandment six - Thou shalt not kill,

Commandment eight - Thou shalt not steal,

Commandment nine - Thou shalt not bear false witness,

Commandment ten - Thou shalt not covet;

And

if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

Here is another commandment pertaining to believers, people of God:

Commandment five:

Exod. [12] You - Honor thy father and thy mother: that your days may be long upon the land which Yehovah thy God gives you.

[10] Love works no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

I have comprehended that these are some of the commandments of how to behave yourselves around my brothers and sisters without sinning.

--------------

Paul states again:

Gal.5 [14] For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself .

[15] But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that you be not consumed one of another.

[16] This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

-----------------------

James tells us:

Jas.2 [8] If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:

[9] But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

-----------------------------

Let’s define the Hebrew word neighbor correctly:

רֵיעַ    רֵעַ

rêa‛ -  rêya  - ray'-ah, ray'-ah - an associate (more or less close): a brother, companion, fellow, friend, lover, husband

-----------------------

Who is my neighbor?

Luke.10

[29] But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Yeshua, And who is my neighbour?

[30] And Yeshua answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

[31] And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

[32] And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.

[33] But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,

[34] And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

[35] And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever you spend more, when I come again, I will repay you.

[36] Which now of these three, think you, was neighbor unto him that fell among the thieves?

[37] And he said, He that showed mercy on him.

Then said Yeshua unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

This certain compassionate Samaritan, a true friend

-------------------

I know that the people in my congregation not surprised to know this comes from Torah:

Lev.19 [15] Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment:

thou shalt not respect the person of the poor,nor honour the person of the mighty:

but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbor.

[16] Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am Yehovah!

[17] Thou shalt not hate thy brother (or sister) in thine heart:

thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.

[18] Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people,

but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am Yehovah.

----------------------------

Paul states in his letter:

Rom.12

[17] Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.

[18] If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

[19] Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith Yehovah.

[20] Therefore if your enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

[21] Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

----------------

John writes in his letters:

1 John 5

[2] By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep His commandments.

[3] For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments: and His commandments are not grievous.

1 John 3

[6] Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen Him, neither known Him.

[7] Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

[8] He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning.

 For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

[9] Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

[10] In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.(or sister)

[11] For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.

[12] Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.

[13] Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

[14] We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren.

He that loveth not his brother (or sister) abideth in death.

[15] Whosoever hates his brother (or sister)  is a murderer:

and you know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

[16] Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. (and sisters)

[17] But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

[18] My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

Peter writes:

1Pet.2 [17] Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

---------------------

Paul writes to Titus:

Tit.2

[1] But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

[2] That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.

[3] The aged women likewise, that they be in behavior as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;[4] That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,[5] To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

[6] Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
[7] In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
[8] Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

[9] Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;[10] Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

[11] For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
[12] Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
[13] Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Yeshua the Messiah;
[14] Who gave Himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

[15] These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

--------------------------

Eph.5

[15] See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
[16] Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

[17] Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Yehovah is.

[18] And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

[19] Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to Yehovah;

[20] Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah;

[21] Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

[22] Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto Yehovah.

[23] For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Messiah is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

[24] Therefore as the church is subject unto Messiah, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.

[25] Husbands, love your wives, even as Messiah also loved the church, and gave Himself for it;

[26] That He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
[27] That He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

[28] So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies.

He that loves his wife loves himself.

[29] For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

[30] For we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones.

[31] For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

[32] This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Messiah and the church.

[33] Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

--------------------

Exod.19 [5] Now therefore, if ye will obey My voice indeed, and keep My covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is Mine:[6] And ye shall be unto Me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation.

1Pet.2

[1] Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
[2] As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
[3] If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
[4] To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
[5] Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Yeshua the Messiah.

[6] Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture (TaNaKh) , Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on Him shall not be confounded.

Isa.28 [16] Therefore thus saith the Lord Yehovah, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. (to do the wrong thing)

[7] Unto you therefore which believe He is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
[8] And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

[9] But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: [10] Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

In conclusion:

Eph.6

[1] Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

[2] Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) [3] That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

Commandment 4 above

[4] And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of Yehovah.

[5] Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Messiah;

[6] Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Messiah, doing the will of God from the heart;

[7] With good will doing service, as to Yehovah, and not to men:
[8] Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of Yehovah, whether he be bond or free.

[9] And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.

[10] Finally, my brethren, be strong in Yehovah, and in the power of his might.

[11] Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

[12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

[13] Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

[14] Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

[15] And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

[16] Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

[17] And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

[18] Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
[19] And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
[20] For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

[21] But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in Yehovah, shall make known to you all things:
[22] Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.

[23]Shalom, Peace be to the brethren ( and sisters), and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Yeshua the Messiah.

[24] Grace be with all them that love our Lord Yeshua the Messiah in sincerity.

Amen

Shabbat Shalom
