שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם

Today, we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s,

The date is March 26, 2022 (in the 21 Century)

March -- Mars' month

Middle English March(e)
Anglo-French March(e)
Old English Martius
Latin Martius "
of Mars"
Latin Marti(s) "Mars" + -us (adj. suffix)
Latin Martius mensis
"month of Mars"

Martius has always had 31 days.

March was the original beginning of the year and the time for the resumption of war.

Mars is the Roman god of warHe is identified with the Greek god Ares.

God has His own Calendar:

We have a leap year, so we are now in the 13th month of God called Adar 2, day 22

We read from law and the prophets every Sabbath like they did in the Book of - Acts 13 [15] … after the reading of the law and the prophets…

As Yeshua said it:

Luke 24 [44]… Yeshua said unto them, These are the words which I spoke unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

The law God gave to Moses (not used by most churches today)

The prophets (not used by most churches today)

The Word of God - Torah, Prophets and Writings

Ta Na K is an acronym for:

T = Torah (law, teachings) - first 5 books of Moses

Navieem or prophets (pl. sounds like - Na vi eem)

K = Ke'tuvim or writings (psalms etc.)

First, I will go over the Sabbath, the 4th commandment:

The Sabbath is the 4th Commandment of the covenant given to us at Mount Sinai in the 3rd month, Sivan

Sabbath starts in the evening:

Lev. 23 [32] … from even (sunset) unto even (sunset), shall you celebrate your Sabbath.

The Sabbath is not a service for an hour and a half, but a 24 hour period on the seventh day.

The Sabbath started in Gen. 2

Gen.2 [1] Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

[2] And on the seventh day God ended his work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made.

[3] And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it He had rested from all His work which God created and made.

By the way, the 10 commandments are in Exod. 20 and Deut. 5 - if you just know this, you will know more than most ministers today.

Ex. 20 [8] Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

[9] Six days shall you labor, and do all your work:

[10] But the seventh day is the Sabbath of Yehovah your God:

in it you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger that is within your gates:

[11] For in six days Yehovah made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Yehovah blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.

זכר

Remember

zâkar - zaw-kar' A primitive root; properly to mark (so as to be recognized), that is, to remember; by implication to mention; make mention of, be mindful, recount, record (-er), remember, make to be remembered, bring (call, come, keep, put) to (in) remembrance, be still, think on, well.

Isa. 58 [13] If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day; and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of Yehovah, honorable; and shall honor him,

1 - not doing your own ways

2 - nor finding your own pleasure

3 - nor speaking your own words:

[14] Then shall you delight yourself in Yehovah; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob your father: for the mouth of Yehovah hath spoken it.

Lev. 23 [3] Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest, a "holy convocation"; you shall do no work therein: it is the Sabbath of Yehovah in all your dwellings.

Dwelling:מושׁב  môshâv - seat, assembly, dwelling-place, dwelling, your situation, location, (at) time of dwelling.

All Sabbaths are "holy convocations, a miqra kodesh" – public meetings

מקרא

miqra: convocation, convoking, reading, a calling  together, sacred assembly, something called out, that is, a public meeting (the act, the persons, or the place); also a rehearsal

קדשׁ

kodesh: a sacred place or thing; consecrated, dedicated, hallowed, holiness, saint, sanctuary, apartness, sacredness, separateness, apartness, sacredness, holiness: All to the God of Israel.

The feasts of Yehovah are in Lev. 23.

There are some times 7 extra Sabbaths during these three feasts and Holy days.

Read the whole chapter

Lev.23

[1] And Yehovah spoke unto Moses, saying,

[2] Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, concerning the feasts of Yehovah, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are My feasts.

Sabbath

[3] Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest, a holy convocation; you shall do no work therein: it is the Sabbath of Yehovah in all your dwellings.

[4] These are the feasts of Yehovah, even holy convocations, which you shall proclaim in their seasons.

Buying and selling is evil on the Sabbath.

Neh. 13 [16] There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the Sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem.

[17] Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, what evil thing is this that you do, and profane the Sabbath day?

At the time of the Lord Yeshua they knew the Sabbath was the 7th day

60 times the word Sabbath is in the Gospels and Letters

Luke.23 [56]…they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the Sabbath day according to the commandment – In Exod.20, Deut.5

So why are we at this congregation?

Most churches don’t even keep the 10 commandments

Today’s topic:

Prayer

תְּפִלָּה

Te phillâh From H6419; intercession, supplication; by implication a hymn: - prayer.

פָּלַל

pâlal - A primitive root; to judge (officially or mentally); by extension to intercede, pray: - intreat, judge (-ment), (make) pray (-er, -ing), make supplication.

Yeshua taught His disciples to pray

Mat. 6

[5] And when you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward.

[6] But you, when you pray, enter into your closet, and when you have shut the door, pray to your Father which is in secret; and your Father which sees in secret shall reward thee openly.

[7] But when you pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
[8] Be not you therefore like unto them:

for your Father knows what things you have need of, before you ask him.

[9] After this manner therefore pray you:

Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name,
Your kingdom come.

Your will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:

For unto You is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.

Amen.

For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

But if you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Mark 11

[24] Therefore I Yeshua say unto you, what things so ever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them.

Paul

1Thes.5 [17] Pray without ceasing.

David prayed all the time.

We shall read some Psalms:

Pss.4 [1] Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: You have enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.

Pss.5 [3] My voice shall You hear in the morning, O Yehovah; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto you, and will look up.

Pss.6 [9] Yehovah had heard my supplication; Yehovah will receive my prayer.

Pss.17 [1] Hear the right, O Yehovah, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goes not out of feigned lips.

Pss.39 [12] Hear my prayer, O Yehovah, and give ear unto my cry; hold not your peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with you, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.

Pss.42 [8] … Yehovah will command his loving kindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.

Pss.54 [2] Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.

Pss.55 [1] Give ear to my prayer, O God; and hide not thyself from my supplication.

Pss.61 [1] Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.

Pss.64 [1] Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.

Pss.65 [2] O You that hears prayer, unto You shall all flesh come.

Pss.66 [19] …verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.[20] Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.

Pss.69 [13] … as for me, my prayer is unto you, O Yehovah, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of your mercy hear me, in the truth of your salvation.

[20] The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.(for that time)

Pss.80 [4] O Yehovah God of hosts, how long will you be angry against the prayer of your people?

Pss.84 [8] O Yehovah God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.

Pss.86 [6] Give ear, O Yehovah, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.

Pss.88 [1] O Yehovah God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before You: [2] Let my prayer come before you: incline your ear unto my cry;

[13] But unto you have I cried, O Yehovah; and in the morning shall my prayer prevent you.

Pss.102 [1] Hear my prayer, O Yehovah, and let my cry come unto you.

[17] He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.

Pss.109 [4] For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.

[7] When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.

Pss.141 [2] Let my prayer be set forth before you as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

[5] Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be a excellent oil which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities.

Pss.143 [1] Hear my prayer, O Yehovah, give ear to my supplications: in your faithfulness answer me, and in your righteousness.

Prov.15 [8] The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to Yehovah: but the prayer of the upright is His delight.

[29] Yehovah is far from the wicked: but He hears the prayer of the righteous.

Prov.28 [9] He that turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

Pss.72 - Messiah

[1] Give the king your judgments, O God, and your righteousness unto the king's son.
[2] He shall judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with judgment.
[3] The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness.
[4] He shall judge the poor of the people he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.
[5] They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations.
[6] He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth.
[7] In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endures.
[8] He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.
[9] They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.
[10] The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.
[11] Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him.
[12] For he shall deliver the needy when he cries; the poor also, and him that hath no helper.
[13] He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.
[14] He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight.
[15] And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised.
[16] There shall be a handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.
[17] His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.
[18] Blessed be the Yehovah God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.
[19] And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.

[20] The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.

I am ending also…  J
