The
mystery god Mithra, the Sun of Righteousness, Never
Jer.7
[1] The word that came to Jeremiah from
Yehovah, saying,
[2] Stand in the gate of Yehovah's house, and proclaim there this word, and say,
Hear the word of Yehovah, all you of Judah, that
enter in at these gates to worship Yehovah.
[3] Thus said Yehovah
of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause
you to dwell in this place.
[4] Trust
you not in lying words, saying,
the temple of Yehovah, The temple of Yehovah, The temple of Yehovah,
are these.
[5] For if you thoroughly amend your
ways and your doings; if you thoroughly execute judgment between a man and his
neighbor;[6]
If you oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not
innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt:
[7] Then will I cause you to
dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, forever and ever.
[8] Behold, you trust in lying words
that cannot profit.
[9] Will you steal, murder, and commit
adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other
gods whom you know not;
[10] And come and stand before
me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do
all these abominations?
[11] Is this house, which is called by
my name, becomes a den of
robbers in your
eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, said Yehovah.
[12] But go you now unto my place which
was in Shiloh, where I set my name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.
[13] And now, because you have done all these works, said Yehovah, and I spoke unto you, rising up early and
speaking, but you heard not; and I called you, but
you answered not;
[14] Therefore will I do unto
this house, which is called by my name, wherein you trust, and unto the place
which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh.
[15] And I will cast you out of my sight, as I
have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim.
[16] Therefore pray not
you for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make
intercession to me: for I will not hear you.
[17] See you not what they do in the
cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
[18] The children gather wood, and the
fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their
dough, to make
cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.
[19] Do they provoke me to anger? Said Yehovah: do they
not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces?
[20] Therefore thus said the Lord Yehovah; Behold, mine anger and my fury shall be poured out
upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and
upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched.
[21] Thus said Yehovah
of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and
eat flesh.
[22] For I spoke not unto your fathers,
nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt,
concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices:
[23] But this thing commanded I them,
saying, Obey my voice,
and I will be your God, and you shall be my people: and walk you in all the
ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.
[24] But
they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in
the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.
[25] Since the day that your fathers
came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day I have even sent unto you all
my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them:
[26] Yet they hearkened not
unto Me,
nor inclined their ear, but hardened their neck: they did worse than their
fathers.
[27] Therefore you shall speak all
these words unto them; but they
will not hearken to you: you shall
also call unto them; but they
will not answer you.
[28] But you shall say unto them, this is a nation that obeyed not the voice of Yehovah their God, nor receives correction: truth is
perished, and is cut off from their mouth.
[29] Cut off your hair, O Jerusalem,
and cast it away, and take up a lamentation on high places; for Yehovah had rejected and forsaken the generation of his
wrath.
[30] For the children of Judah have done evil in my sight, said Yehovah: they
have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to pollute
it.
[31] And they have built the high
places of Tophet, which is in the valley of the son
of Hinnom, to
burn their sons and their daughters in the fire;
which I commanded them not, neither came it into my heart.
[32] Therefore, behold, the days come,
said Yehovah, that it shall no more be called Tophet, nor the valley of the son of Hinnom,
but the valley of slaughter: for they shall bury in Tophet,
till there be no place.
[33] And the carcases
of this people shall be meat for the fowls of the heaven,
and for the beasts of the earth; and none shall fray them away.
[34] Then will I cause to cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets
of Jerusalem, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the
bridegroom, and the voice of the bride: for
the land shall be desolate.
Jer.44
[1] The word that came to Jeremiah
concerning all the Jews which dwell in the land of Egypt, which dwell at Migdol, and at Tahpanhes, and at Noph, and in the country of Pathros,
saying,
[2] Thus said Yehovah
of hosts, the God of Israel; Ye have seen all the evil that I have brought upon
Jerusalem, and upon all the cities of Judah; and, behold, this day they are a
desolation, and no man dwells therein,
[3] Because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger,
in that they went to burn
incense, and to serve other gods, whom
they knew not, neither they, you, nor your fathers.
[4] Howbeit I sent unto you all my
servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate.
[5] But
they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense unto other gods.
[6] Wherefore my fury and mine anger
was poured forth, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of
Jerusalem; and they are wasted and desolate, as at this day.
[7] Therefore now thus said Yehovah, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; Wherefore
commit you this great evil against your souls, to cut off from you man and
woman, child and suckling, out of Judah, to leave you none to remain;
[8] In that you provoke me unto wrath
with the works of your hands, burning incense unto
other gods in the land of Egypt, whither
you be gone to dwell, that you might cut yourselves off, and that you might be
a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?
[9] Have
you forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, and the wickedness of the kings of Judah, and
the wickedness of their wives, and your own wickedness, and the wickedness of
your wives, which they have committed in the land of Judah, and in the streets
of Jerusalem?
[10] They are not humbled even unto this day, neither have they
feared, nor walked in My law, nor in My statutes, that
I set before you and before your fathers.
[11] Therefore thus said Yehovah of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will set my
face against you for evil, and to cut off all Judah.
[12] And I will take the remnant of
Judah, that have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to sojourn there,
and they shall all be consumed, and fall in the land of Egypt; they shall even
be consumed by the sword and by the famine: they
shall die, from
the least even unto the greatest, by the sword and by the famine: and they
shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach.
[13] For I will punish them that dwell
in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by the
famine, and by the pestilence:
[14] So that none of the remnant
of Judah, which are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall escape
or remain, that they should return into the land of Judah, to the which they
have a desire to return to dwell there: for none shall return but such as shall
escape.
[15] Then
all the men which knew that their wives had burned incense unto other gods, and
all the women that stood by, a great
multitude, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,
[16] As for the word that you
had spoken unto us in the name of Yehovah, we will not hearken unto you.
[17] But we will certainly do
whatsoever thing goes forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as
we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of
Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and
were well, and saw no evil.
[18] But since we left off to burn
incense to the
queen of heaven, and to
pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been
consumed by the sword and by the famine.
[19] And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured
out drink offerings unto her, did we
make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without
our men?
[20] Then Jeremiah said unto all the
people, to the men, and to the women, and to all the people which had given him
that answer, saying,
[21] The incense that you burned
in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, you, and your fathers,
your kings, and your princes, and the people of the land, did not Yehovah remember them, and came it not into His mind?
[22] So that Yehovah
could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which you have committed; therefore is your
land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as
at this day.
[23] Because you have burned incense, and because you have sinned against Yehovah, and have
not obeyed the voice of Yehovah, nor walked in His
law, nor in His statutes, nor in His testimonies; therefore this evil is happened unto you, as at
this day.
[24] Moreover Jeremiah said unto all
the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of Yehovah,
all Judah that are in the land of Egypt:
[25] Thus said Yehovah
of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; You and your wives have both spoken with
your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our
vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the
queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: you will surely accomplish your vows, and
surely perform your vows.
[26] Therefore hear you the word of Yehovah, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt;
Behold, I
have sworn by My great Name, said Yehovah, that My name
shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of
Egypt, saying,
The Lord Yehovah lives.
[27] Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the men of Judah
that are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine,
until there be an end of them.
[28] Yet a small number that escape the
sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, and all the
remnant of Judah, that are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall
know whose words shall stand, mine, or theirs.
[29] And this shall be a sign unto you, said Yehovah, that I
will punish you in this place, that you may know that
My Words shall surely stand against you for evil:
[30] Thus said Yehovah;
Behold, I will give Pharaoh-hophra king of Egypt into
the hand of his enemies, and into the hand of them that seek his life; as I
gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar
king of Babylon, his enemy, and that sought his life.
Catholic
theology: They do believe that Mary is the Queen of Heaven
Pastor Joe, a Pentecostal minister against a Catholic
Silly, unscriptural dialogue
form both parties…
I doubt that my Pentecostal friend would accept the authority of Saint Athanasius (or any other father of the Church) but the saint from Alexandria (296 to 373), in Egypt by the way, writes “If the Son is a King, the mother who begot Him is rightly and truly considered a queen and sovereign.” (de Deipera, on the Godbearer). Common sense, right? One would think having a Queen-Mother in Heaven would be a cause of great joy. One would think so
From the
earliest ages of the Catholic Church a Christian people, whether in time of
triumph or more especially in time of crisis, has addressed prayers of petition and hymns
of praise and veneration to the Queen of Heaven.
And never has
that hope wavered which they placed in the Mother of the Divine King, Jesus Christ;
nor has that faith ever failed by which we are taught that Mary, the Virgin Mother of God, reigns with
a mother’s solicitude, (care) over the entire world, just as she is crowned in
heavenly blessedness with the glory of a Queen.
I also might
add that the Second Vatican Council in its Dogmatic Constitution on the Church (Lumen Gentium)
taught, “Finally, the Immaculate Virgin preserved free from all stain of Original Sin, was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory, when her
earthly life was over, and exalted by the
Lord as Queen over all
things,
that she might be the more fully conformed to her Son, the
Lord of lords (cf. Rv 19:16)
and conqueror of sin and death” (No. 59). In making this
statement, the Council referenced the passage from Revelation on the “great
sign [that] appeared in heaven.” (my bold emphasis)
Lastly, a word about the feast day for Our Lady Queen of Heaven and Earth.
In the old liturgical calendar the feast is
celebrated on August 22. Actually, when the feast was established by Pope Pius
XII in 1954 he set the date for its celebration on the same day as that of the
Divine Maternity, October 11.
It was later
moved to August 22 in order to enhance the Church’s devotion to the Immaculate
Heart of Mary, co-celebrated this day, thereby so wonderfully magnifying her
universal Queenship.
According to Pastor
Joe the prophet Jeremias was warning about an abuse
that would arise in Christian times, namely these latter times.
The pastor, I
assume, had no clue that the Queenship of Mary was
honored throughout Christendom in every age.
It is astonishing that he thinks Jeremias had us Catholics in mind, Catholics such as Saint
Athanasius of Egypt and Saint Bernard of Clairvaux,
to mention only two.
I can only imagine what he thinks of Pope Pius
XII and his definition of the bodily Assumption of
Mary (and corresponding Coronation).
So, there you
have it. In this year 2019, Pastor Joe has figured out what Jeremias
was most worried about back in the sixth century B.C. I say “most” worried
about.
And it wasn’t the
“sacrifices” of the idolatrous Jewish women as much as it was the future cultus of Marian devotees.

The
following is a quote from the Encyclopedia Brittanica,
Volume 11 ; page 390.
"During
the later periods of Roman history, sun worship gained in importance and
ultimately led to what has been called a 'solar monotheism.' Nearly all the
gods of the period were possessed of Solar qualities,
and both Christ and Mithra acquired the traits of solar
deities.
The feast
of Sol and Victus (open
unconquered Sun) on December 25th was celebrated with great joy.
The pseudo
Christians were trying to get more converts so they adapted a pagan holiday to
their worship to appease the pagans in 336 AD.
The
Encyclopaedia Britannica reports that "The traditional
customs connected with Christmas have developed from several sources as a
result of the coincidence of the celebration of the birth of Christ with the
pagan agricultural and solar observations at midwinter. In the Roman world the
Saturnalia (December 17) was a time of merrymaking and exchange of gifts. December 25 was also regarded as the birth date of the Iranian mystery god Mithra, the
Sun of Righteousness."
Colliers
Encyclopedia agrees. Quote: "After the triumph of Constantine, the Catholic
church at Rome assigned December 25 as the date for the celebration of the
feast, possibly about A.D. 320 or 353.
By the end
of the fourth century the whole Catholic / Christian world was celebrating
Christmas on that day, with the exception of the Eastern churches, where it was
celebrated on January 6. The choice of December 25 was probably influenced by
the fact that on this day the Romans celebrated the Mithraic
feast of the Sun-god (natalis solis
invicti), and that the Saturnalia also came at this
time."
Both
encyclopedias plainly reveal that the source of the celebration of December 25 is
the birthday of Mithra, the pagan sun god.
Sun
worshippers
since the time of Babel recognized this time of year in honor of their gods.
1st
century believers, taught personally by Christ, did not celebrate His birthday.
2nd
century theologians condemned the thought.
Only after
severe persecution, destruction and inaccessibility of biblical scripture and
the blending of pagan doctrine with the worship of God was the Mithraic celebration of December 25th proclaimed to be
" pseudo Christian" in nature.
These
facts are well documented. They can be found in any encyclopedia.
There is
no way to "Christianize" the birthday of the sun god.
Anyone
with access to an encyclopedia or the internet today can know better than those
with theological degrees of yesteryear.
Sol Invictus
The
official recognition of sun worship in the Roman Empire began during the time
of Aurelian when he instituted the cult of "Sol invictus".
The cult of Sol Invictus and that of Mithra are virtually the same.
In the
year 307 A.D. Emperor Diocletian, a sun worshipper, was involved in the
dedication of a temple to Mithra and was responsible
for the burning of scripture which made it possible for later emperors to
formulate their own version of "Christianity."
After the rein of Diocletian, Emperor Constantine, while claiming to be a
Christian maintained the title "Pontifus Maximus" the high priest of paganism. His coins were
inscribed: "SOL INVICTO COMITI" (COMMITTED TO THE INVINCIBLE SUN).
During his
reign pagan sun worship was blended with the worship of the Creator, and
officially entitled "Christianity."
Cybele the
Phrygian goddess, known to her followers as "the mother of god", was
closely related to the worship of Mithra.
As
Mithraism was a man’s religion, the worship of Cybele was practiced by the
women.
The
priests of Mithra were known as "Fathers"
and the Priestesses of Cybele as "Mothers."
After
baptism into the Mysteries of Mithra, the initiate
was marked on the forehead. The sign of the cross formed by the elliptic and
the celestial equator was one of the signs of Mithra.
Sunday (Deis Solis), the day of the sun, was considered by Mithraist a sacred day of rest.
December
25th was celebrated as the birth of the sun, given birth by the "Queen of
Heaven" - "Mother of god."
The Mithraists celebrated a mithraic
love feast. This feast consisted of loaves of bread decorated with crosses with
wine over which the priest pronounced a mystic formula.
Mithra was considered mediator
between god and man.
Mithraists also believed in
eternal life in heaven and in the torture of the wicked after death.
Many of
these beliefs and rituals were exclusive to Mithraism and up until the fourth
century were not a part of the Christian faith.
Only those
in accordance with the commandments of God could possibly be in honor of
Christ.
In the 4th
century, through confusion and manipulation, rituals of "sun worship"
were pronounced, by the followers of Satan to be "Christian" in
nature.
There is
no Biblical support for the inclusion of Mithraic
ritual, which is the worship of Satan, in the worship of the God of Abraham,
Isaac and Jacob, the Creator of heaven and earth.
It is a Satanic scheme to disguise the transgression of God’s laws
under the title of "Christianity".
This same
system, characterized by the shrouding of truth in secrecy and the manipulation
of the truth in order to achieve its ends, has been working for two millennia
to combine paganism with Christianity.
