Today’s topic:

 

Some abominations to talk about

that goes on day after day today… they try to convince us it is a normal way of life, when it is an abomination, beware.

 

תּוֹעֵבָה or תֹּעֵבָה  to`evah {to-ay-va'}  

Meaning:  1) a disgusting thing, abomination, abominable 1a) in ritual sense (of unclean food, idols, mixed marriages) 1b) in ethical sense (of wickedness etc)

 

Usage:  AV - abomination 113, abominable thing 2, abominable 2; 117

extreme disgust and hatred : loathing

Seems like “unclean and an abomination” are related

 

The food laws seem to have many abominations, beware

Let’s read:

Lev.11

[1] And Yehovah spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,
[
2] Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.
[
3] Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.

[4] Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

[5] And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

[6] And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

[7] And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.

8] Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.

[9] These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.

10] And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
[
11] They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.

[12] Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.

[13] And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,
[
14] And the vulture, and the kite after his kind;
[
15] Every raven after his kind;
[
16] And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,
[
17] And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,
[
18] And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle,
[
19] And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.
[
20] All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you.

[21] Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth;
[
22] Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind.

[23] But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you.
[
24] And for these ye shall be unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcase of them shall be unclean until the even.
[
25] And whosoever beareth ought of the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.
[
26] The carcases of every beast which divideth the hoof, and is not clovenfooted, nor cheweth the cud, are unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean.
[
27] And whatsoever goeth upon his paws, among all manner of beasts that go on all four, those are unclean unto you: whoso toucheth their carcase shall be unclean until the even.

 

[28] And he that beareth the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: they are unclean unto you.
[
29] These also shall be unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth; the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after his kind,
[
30] And the ferret, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole.

[31] These are unclean to you among all that creep: whosoever doth touch them, when they be dead, shall be unclean until the even.
[
32] And upon whatsoever any of them, when they are dead, doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherein any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; so it shall be cleansed.
[
33] And every earthen vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoever is in it shall be unclean; and ye shall break it.

[34] Of all meat which may be eaten, that on which such water cometh shall be unclean: and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean.

[35] And every thing whereupon any part of their carcase falleth shall be unclean; whether it be oven, or ranges for pots, they shall be broken down: for they are unclean, and shall be unclean unto you.

[36] Nevertheless a fountain or pit, wherein there is plenty of water, shall be clean:

but that which toucheth their carcase shall be unclean.

[37] And if any part of their carcase fall upon any sowing seed which is to be sown, it shall be clean.

[38] But if any water be put upon the seed, and any part of their carcase fall thereon, it shall be unclean unto you.
[
39] And if any beast, of which ye may eat, die; he that toucheth the carcase thereof shall be unclean until the even.

[40] And he that eateth of the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: he also that beareth the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.

[41] And every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth shall be an abomination; it shall not be eaten.

[42] Whatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all four, or whatsoever hath more feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination.

[43] Ye shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby.

[44] For I am Yehovah your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

[45] For I am Yehovah that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

[46] This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth:
[47] To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.

Deut.14 [3] Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing.

 

Another type of an abomination

Lev.18

[22] Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

[23] Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.

[29] For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people.

Lev.20 [13] If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

[25] Ye shall therefore put difference between:

clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean.

 

Soon, during Halloween, some people again will be dressing their little children like some of these abominations below:

They say, it is in fun, it is for the children, bla………

Exod.22 [18] Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.

Deut.22 [10] There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
[11] Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or
a wizard, or a necromancer.
[12]
For all that do these things are an abomination unto Yehovah: and because of these abominations Yehovah thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

 

Deut.22 [5] The woman shall not wear that which pertains unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto Yehovah thy God.

Deut.23 [17] There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.

sodomite : one who practices sodomy.  Having sexual relations with a member of the same sex : also with an animal

 

Saul says:

Romans 1: [24] … God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves:

[25] Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

[26] For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

[27] And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

[28] And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

[29] Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
[30] Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
[31] Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

[32] Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

1 Corth. 6 [9] Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?

Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
[10] Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners,
shall inherit the kingdom of God.

Gal.5 [19] Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
[
20] Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, [21] Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

 

Deut.27 [15] Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination unto Yehovah, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.

 

Then we have king Solomon

1Kgs.11

[1] But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;
[
2] Of the nations concerning which Yehovah said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.

[3] And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.
[4] For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods:

and his heart was not perfect with Yehovah his God, as was the heart of David his father.

[5] For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.

[6] And Solomon did evil in the sight of Yehovah, and went not fully after Yehovah, as did David his father.

[7] Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.

[8] And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.

[9] And Yehovah was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from Yehovah God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice,
[
10] And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which Yehovah commanded.

1Kgs.14 [24] And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which Yehovah cast out before the children of Israel.

 

Some Psalms and Proverbs

Pss.14 [1] The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Prov.3 [32] For the froward is abomination to Yehovah: but his secret is with the righteous.

froward: perversity or fraud

Prov.6 [16] These six things doth Yehovah hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto Him:

A proud look

a lying tongue

hands that shed innocent blood

An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations

feet that be swift in running to mischief

A false witness that speaks lies

He (anyone) that sows discord among brethren / sisters

 

Prov.8 [7] For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

Prov.11 [1] A false balance is abomination to Yehovah: but a just weight is his delight.

[20] They that are of a froward heart are abomination to Yehovah: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.

Prov.12[22] Lying lips are abomination to Yehovah: but they that deal truly are his delight.

Prov.15 [8] The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to Yehovah: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

[9] The way of the wicked is an abomination unto Yehovah: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.

[26] The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to Yehovah: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.

Prov.16 [5] Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to Yehovah: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.

[12] It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness.

Prov.17 [15] He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to Yehovah.

Prov.20 [10] Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to Yehovah.

[23] Divers weights are an abomination unto Yehovah; and a false balance is not good.

Like Proverbs 15, a little different:

Prov.21 [27] The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?

Prov.24 [9] The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.

Prov.26 [24] He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him;
[25] When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for
there are seven abominations in his heart.
[26] Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before the whole congregation.

 

Prov.28 [9] He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

Prov.29 [27] An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.

 

Some Ezra

Ezra.9 Like Solomon

[1] Now when these things were done, the princes came to me, saying, The people of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the people of the lands, doing according to their abominations, even of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites.

[2] For they have taken of their daughters for themselves, and for their sons: so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the people of those lands: yea, the hand of the princes and rulers hath been chief in this trespass.

[3] And when I heard this thing, I rent my garment and my mantle, and plucked off the hair of my head and of my beard, and sat down astonied.


[4] Then were assembled unto me every one that trembled at the words of the God of Israel, because of
the transgression of those that had been carried away; and I sat astonied until the evening sacrifice.

[5] And at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my heaviness; and having rent my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees, and spread out my hands unto Yehovah my God.

[6] And said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to thee, my God: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass is grown up unto the heavens.

[7] Since the days of our fathers have we been in a great trespass unto this day; and for our iniquities have we, our kings, and our priests, been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to confusion of face, as it is this day.

[8] And now for a little space grace hath been shewed from Yehovah our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage.

[9] For we were bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem.

[10] And now, O our God, what shall we say after this? for we have forsaken thy commandments,

[11] Which thou hast commanded by thy servants the prophets, saying, The land, unto which ye go to possess it, is an unclean land with the filthiness of the people of the lands, with their abominations, which have filled it from one end to another with their uncleanness.

[12] Now therefore give not your daughters unto their sons, neither take their daughters unto your sons, nor seek their peace or their wealth for ever: that ye may be strong, and eat the good of the land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children for ever.

[13] And after all that is come upon us for our evil deeds, and for our great trespass, seeing that thou our God hast punished us less than our iniquities deserve, and hast given us such deliverance as this;

[14] Should we again break thy commandments, and join in affinity with the people of these abominations?

would not thou be angry with us till thou had consumed us, so that there should be no remnant nor escaping?

[15] O Yehovah God of Israel, thou art righteous: for we remain yet escaped, as it is this day: behold, we are before thee in our trespasses: for we cannot stand before thee because of this.

 

Some Daniel

Dan.9 [27] And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Dan.11 [31] And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.

 

Matt.24 [15] When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) [16] Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
[17] Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
[18] Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
[19] And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
[20] But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
[21] For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
[22] And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

 

Luke.16 [15] And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

 

Rev.17

[1] And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:

2] With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.

3] So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

[4] And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

[5] And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

[6] And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

[7] And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.

[8] The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

[9] And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sits.

[10] And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.

[11] And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

[12] And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

[13] These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

[14] These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

[15] And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

[16] And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

[17] For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
[
18] And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

 

Rev.21

[1] And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

[2] And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

[3] And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

[4] And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

[5] And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

[6] And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

[7] He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

[8] But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

[9] And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.

[10] And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

[11] Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

12] And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:

13] On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.

14] And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

15] And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.

16] And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

17] And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

18] And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.

19] And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;

20] The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.

21] And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
[
22] And I saw no temple therein: for Yehovah God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
[
23] And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
[
24] And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

25] And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

26] And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

[27] And there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defiles, neither whatsoever works abomination, or makes a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

In closing:

We need to be careful in the world we live today, abominations abound.

They try to convince us “it is just normal and accepted, when it is abomination!

Some television shows, websites try making it humorous or natural, acceptable. Beware!

Just three weeks to the holy days and feast again, prepare.
