Let's answer these questions above:

 

What is sin?

1 John, chapter 3:4 whosoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

 

Going around the commandments:

Romans 7:8  sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.

11: … sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.

Romans 7:7 what shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. No, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shall not covet.

 

Where are the Ten Commandments located in scriptures?

Answer: Exod. 20 and Deut. 5

 

Are you keeping them?

Deut.4 [13] And He declared unto you His covenant, which He commanded you to perform, even Ten Commandments; and He wrote them upon two tables of stone.

 

What are the Ten Commandments?

Exod.20

1 - And God spoke all these words, saying, I am Yehovah your God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before me.

2 - You shall not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: You shall not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I Yehovah your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

3 - You shall not take the name of Yehovah your God in vain; for Yehovah will not hold him guiltless that takes  His name in vain.

4 - Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Six days shall you labor, and do all your work: But the seventh day is the Sabbath of Yehovah your God : in it  you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger that is within your gates: For in six days Yehovah made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Yehovah blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Within your gates (where you reside, live): This was a big breaker over the years, we lost many people over that part of the 4th commandment.

 

5 - Honor your father and your mother: that your days may be long upon the land which Yehovah your God gives thee.

6 - You shall not kill.

7 - You shall not commit adultery.

8 - You shall not steal.

9 - You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

10 - You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is your neighbor’s.

Matt.22

Commandments 1 to 4

[36] Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

[37] Yeshua said unto him, You shall love Yehovah your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.

[38] This is the first and great commandment.

 

Commandments 6 to 10

[39] And the second is like unto it, You shall love your neighbor as thyself.

[40] On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

 

John says:

1 John 2[4] He / she that says, I know him, and keeps not His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him / her.

 

Rev.21 [8] …the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

 

John.14: 15 if you love Me, keep My commandments.

John.15 [10] If you keep My commandments , you shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in His love.

 

Are the commandments applicable for today?  Yes 2020 and "always"!

Deuteronomy, chapter 5:29 O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear Me, and keep all My commandments always , that it might be well with them, and with their children forever!

Deuteronomy, chapter 11:1 Therefore you shall love Yehovah your God, and keep His charge, and His statutes, and His judgments, and His commandments, always.

Revelation 22:14 Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

 

What are ignorant and willful, presumptuous sin?

Here are some examples of presumptuous and ignorant sin

 

Ignorant - not knowing, not aware

Presumptuously: arrogance, pride, proud - on purpose, willfully

 

Exodus 21:14  if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbor, to slay him with guile; you shall take him from mine altar, that he may die.

Numbers 15:30… the soul that doeth ought presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproaches Yehovah; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

Deuteronomy 1:43 So I spoke unto you; and you would not hear, but rebelled against the commandment of Yehovah, and went presumptuously up into the hill.

Deuteronomy 17:12 And the man that will do presumptuously, and will not hearken unto the priest that standeth to minister there before Yehovah your God, or unto the judge, even that man shall die: and you shall put away the evil from Israel.

Deuteronomy 17:13 And all the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously.

Deuteronomy 18:22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of Yehovah, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which Yehovah hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: you shall not be afraid of him

 

Paul says:

Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin willfully, (presumptuously) after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins, 

27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 

28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 

29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose you, shall he / she be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and have counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? 

30 for we know Him that hath said, Vengeance belongs unto Me, I will recompense, says Yehovah. And again, Yehovah shall judge his people. 31 

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

 

Now, ignorant sin

Numbers 15:28 And the priest shall make an atonement for the soul that sins ignorantly, when he sins by ignorance before Yehovah, to make an atonement for him; and it shall be forgiven him.

Deuteronomy 19:4 And this is the case of the slayer, which shall flee thither, that he may live. Whoso kill his neighbor ignorantly, whom he hated not in time past…

Leviticus 4:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of Yehovah concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them:

Leviticus 4:13 And if the whole congregation of Israel sin through ignorance, and the thing be hid from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done somewhat against any of the commandments of Yehovah concerning things which should not be done, and are guilty;

Leviticus 4:22 When a ruler hath sinned, and done somewhat through ignorance against any of the commandments of Yehovah his God concerning things which should not be done, and is guilty;

Leviticus 4:27 And if any one of the common people sin through ignorance, while he doeth somewhat against any of the commandments of Yehovah concerning things which ought not to be done, and be guilty;

Leviticus 5:15 If a soul commit a trespass, and sin through ignorance , in the holy things of Yehovah; then he shall bring for his trespass unto Yehovah a ram without blemish out of the flocks, with your estimation by shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for a trespass offering:

Leviticus 5:18 And he shall bring a ram without blemish out of the flock, with your estimation, for a trespass offering, unto the priest: and the priest shall make an atonement for him concerning his ignorance wherein he erred and wist it not, and it shall be forgiven him.

Numbers 15:24 Then it shall be, if ought be committed by ignorance without the knowledge of the congregation, that all the congregation shall offer one young bullock for a burnt offering, for a sweet savour unto Yehovah, with his meat offering, and his drink offering, according to the manner, and one kid of the goats for a sin offering.

Numbers 15:25 And the priest shall make an atonement for all the congregation of the children of Israel, and it shall be forgiven them; for it is ignorance: and they shall bring their offering, a sacrifice made by fire unto Yehovah, and their sin offering before Yehovah, for their ignorance:

Numbers 15:26 And it shall be forgiven all the congregation of the children of Israel, and the stranger that sojourneth among them; seeing all the people were in ignorance.

Numbers 15:27 And if any soul sin through ignorance, then he shall bring a she goat of the first year for a sin offering.

Numbers 15:28 And the priest shall make an atonement for the soul that sinneth ignorantly, when he sinneth by ignorance before Yehovah, to make an atonement for him; and it shall be forgiven him.

Numbers 15:29 Ye shall have one law for him that sinneth through ignorance, both for him that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them.

Acts 3:17 And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance you did it, as did also your rulers.

 

Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commands all men everywhere to repent…

winked at: Go did know, acknowledge those heathen nations

Amos.3 [2] You only (God’s people) have I known of all the families of the earth….

Peter says:

1Peter 1:14 Now - as obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance…

I hope you can see and understand now the difference of ignorance and presumptuous sin. It is simple.

 

What is our righteousness?

Deuteronomy 6:25 And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before Yehovah our God, as he hath commanded

 

Be perfect?

The world has implanted in our minds and consciousness through advertisements on television, videos, DVDs, CDs, social media and other media the meaning of the word perfect.

We always hear about the perfect weight, shape, smile, image, attitude etc.

We need to look into the word of God and see through the scriptures the meaning of the word perfect.

A few examples of this would be:

1 - The world says be sexy, God says be holy. (Leviticus 19:2 ...You shall be holy: for I Yehovah your God am holy.)

2 - The world says, no one's perfect, God says be perfect as My Father which is in heaven is perfect. (Matthew 5:48)

3 - The world says, everyone sins, Yeshua / Jesus say, "Go and sin no more". (John 8:11: ... go, and sin no more).

One simple understanding of being perfect is examining yourselves if you are keeping the 10 commandments. You know which ones you are keeping and which ones you are not keeping.

In very simple terms, you are either doing something or you are not; yes that simple, yes or no, 0 or 1, on or off.

You might need to make a few adjustments in your life. :-)

 

Paul says:

2 Corinthians, chapter 13:5: Examine yourselves, whether you be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know you not your own selves, how that Yeshua the Messiah is in you, except you be reprobates?

Deuteronomy 8:2 And you shall remember all the way which Yehovah your God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or no.

 

***Serving God is not a guessing game.

 We have no excuse not to know. We have God's Word as a study guide. God gave us one life span and one Book and there will be a test!

 

Deuteronomy 18:13 You shall be perfect with Yehovah your God.

1 Kings 8:61 Let your heart therefore be perfect with Yehovah our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep His commandments, as at this day.

Matthew 19:21Yeshua said unto him, If you will be perfect , go and sell that you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

2Corinthians 13:11  Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

Philippians 3:15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfectbe thus minded: and if in anything you be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

2Timothy 3:17 the man of God may be perfect thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

James 1:4  let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, wanting (lacking) nothing.

 

Paul says:

1 Thessalonians 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

2 Timothy 2:15  Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Colossians, chapter 4:6 Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer every man.

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Messiah dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

2 Peter, chapter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Yeshua the  Messiah. To Him be glory both now and forever. Amen.

Rom.12 [ 2] And be not conformed to this world: but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

 

What is love?

Is it Kisses, hugs, ice cream, cake and cookiesSounds nice... but John says: 2 John, chapter 1:6:

And this is love, that we walk after His Commandments. This is the commandment, that, as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.

 

What does born again mean?

When we are born again, we are to renounce the old Man. We should not bring over to the new man the old traditions, feasts or anything from the past life of sin.

 

We are to be first babes in Messiah,

1 Pet.2 [2] as newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that you may grow thereby.

When you are born again, you have to realize as a gentile, you are grafted into the natural branches, true believers, and all of us are connected to Messiah Yeshua who is the VINE.

You are now equal to those who received and keep God's Commandments.

We are all one in Messiah.

 

2Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Messiah, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Ephesians 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man , so making peace…

Ephesians 4:24 And that you put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Colossians 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him…

Romans 6: 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Ephesians 4:22 That you put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts…

Colossians 3:9 Lie not one to another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his deeds…

 

What was the original meaning of the word Christian?

Remember, there were neither Protestants before 1500 AD nor Catholics at the time of Messiah Yeshua.

Messiah - מְשִיחַ

The English word Christian below is Messiah followers, not Protestants or Catholics.

Messiah followers: מְשִׁיחִ י מְשִׁיחִיִּים

Acts 11 [26] And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

Acts 26 [ 28] Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost you persuadest me to be a Christian.

1Pet.4 [ 16] Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.

 

What is the meaning of the word church?

Answer - People not a building

εκκλησια ekklesia - ek-klay-see'-ah

To God:

A calling out: a popular meeting, especially of believers in Messiah Yeshua on earth or saints in heaven or both - assembly, church.

1 - An assembly of the people convened for worship in a religious meeting, those who are united into one body.

2 - The whole body of believers scattered throughout the earth.

 

Here are another 2 questions:

What is the new covenant?  Who was the new covenant given to?

Jer. 31:31-37: Behold, the days come, says Yehovah, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, says Yehovah

But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, says Yehovah, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know Yehovah: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, says Yehovah; for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Thus says Yehovah, which gives the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divides the sea when the waves thereof roar; Yehovah of hosts is his name: If those ordinances depart from before me, says Yehovah, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me forever.

Thus says Yehovah; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, says Yehovah.

Paul recites Jeremiah 31:

Heb. 8:8 -12: For finding fault with them (the people), He says, Behold, the days come, says Yehovah, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, says Yehovah

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says Yehovah, I will put My laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to Me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know Yehovah: for all shall know Me, from the least to the greatest.

For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

 

No more animal (blood) sacrifice, now Messiah’s blood…

Luke 22:20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in My blood, which is shed for you.

 


Do you need to "Fear Yehovah always?

Proverbs, chapter 28 :14: Happy is the man that fears always : but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.

Job, chapter 28:28: And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of Yehovah that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

Deuteronomy, chapter 4:10 Specially the day that you stood before Yehovah your God in Horeb, when Yehovah said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear My words, that they may learn to fear Me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.

Deuteronomy, chapter 5 :29: O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children forever!

Deuteronomy, chapter 6:24: And Yehovah commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear Yehovah our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.

Deuteronomy, chapter 6:2: That you mightest fear Yehovah your God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, you, and your son, and your son's son, all the days of your life; and that your days may be prolonged.

Deuteronomy, chapter 14 :23: And you shall eat before Yehovah your God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of your corn, of your wine, and of your oil, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks; that you mayest learn to fear Yehovah your God always.

Deuteronomy, chapter 17 19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear Yehovah his God , to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

Ecclesiastes (Qoheleth), Chapter 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14: For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Deuteronomy 31:13 And that their children, which have not known any thing, may hear, and learn to fear Yehovah your God, as long as you live in the land whither you go over Jordan to possess it

 

What does holy mean?

A sacred place or thing; sanctity: - consecrated (thing), dedicated (thing), hallowed (thing), holiness, (most) holy (day, portion, thing), saint, sanctuary.

 

Leviticus 11:44 For I am Yehovah your God: you shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall you defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.

Leviticus 11:45 For I am Yehovah that brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: you shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

Leviticus 19:2 Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, You shall be holy: for I Yehovah your God am holy.

Leviticus 20:26 you shall be holy unto me: for I Yehovah am holy, and have severed you from other people, that you should be mine.

Leviticus 21:8 You shall sanctify him therefore; for he offers the bread of your God: he shall be holy unto thee: for I Yehovah, which sanctify you, am holy .

1Peter 1:16 Because it is written, Be you holy; for I am holy.

 

So, how should you dress as a woman? (The world says be sexy, God says be HOLY)

1Timothy 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; 10 - But (which becomes women professing godliness) with good works.

1Timothy 5:2: The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.

 

Do you know your body is the Temple of the Living God?

1 Corinthians 3:16: Know you not that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17- If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.

1 Corinthians 6:15: Know you not that your bodies are the members of Messiah? Shall I then take the members of Messiah, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

1 Corinthians 6:16 What? know you not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? For two, says he, shall be one flesh.

1 Corinthians 6:17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. 18: Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that commits fornication sins against his own body.

1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know you not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which you have of God, and you are not your own?

1 Corinthians 6:9: Know you not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived

neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10: Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 5:19 to21:Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

 

Do you know you are the light of the world?

Matthew 5:14-16 You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.

Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it gives light unto all that are in the house.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

 

Hath God cast away his people Israel?

Romans 11:1-5 …I say then, did God cast away his people? God forbid.

For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin

 

God hath not cast away his people Israel which he foreknew

Know you not what the scripture says of Elias? How he makes intercession to God against Israel, saying, Yehovah, they have killed your prophets, and digged down your altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.

But what says the answer of God unto him?

I have reserved to Myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.

Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant (of Jews) according to the election of grace.

 

Ecclesiastes (Qoheleth) 12:13

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter

Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

14: For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
