Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s.

May -- Maia's month

Old French Mai
Old English
Maius
Latin
Maius "of Maia"
Latin
Maius mensis "month of Maia"

Maius has always had 31 days.

Maia (meaning "the great one") is the Italic goddess of spring, the daughter of Faunus, and wife of Vulcan.

Today is May 25th, 2019 – in the 21 Century

Yehovah God has His own calendar, which is deleted from the world

We are now in the second month of God called זִו Ziv, day 19 - "brightness"

1Kgs.6[1] And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif - Ziv, זִו  which is the second month, that he began to build the house of Yehovah.

Our fourth Sabbath of the seven week journey again, spiritually speaking.

In this journey we again observe in memorial, spiritually to meet God to receive the commandments and to receive the (Baptism) Spirit of God.

From slaves in Egypt (our last lives of sin) to the people of God

Remember: We were told to count "Sabbaths" not omers like many people are doing.

An "omer" is a "sheaf" of barley

עמר omer  - A dry measure of 1/10 ephah (about 2 liters)

Lev.23 [15] And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Sabbaths shall be complete:

[16] Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto Yehovah.

Hag Sh'vu-ot - חַג שָׁבֻעֹת - Feasts of Weeks / Pentecost, a Sabbath “Offering time” - June 16, 2019

Monday is Memorial Day - We are thankful to all the people that paid the ultimate price to keep the nation we reside in today safe.

Today’s Topic

The churches of the Gentiles instructions

Now a Memorial to the veterans in the armies of God

Rom.16 [1] I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea:
[
2] That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that you assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a scourer of many, and of myself also.

[3] Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Messiah Yeshua: [4] Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all “the churches of the Gentiles”. [5] Likewise greet the church that is in their house.

Salute my wellbeloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia unto Messiah.

[6] Greet Mary, who besto Messiah wed much labour on us.

[7] Salute Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen, and my fellowprisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Messiah before me.

[8] Greet Amplias my beloved in the Lord.

[9] Salute Urbane, our helper in Messiah, and Stachys my beloved.

[10] Salute Apelles approved in Messiah. Salute them which are of Aristobulus' household.

[11] Salute Herodion my kinsman. Greet them that be of the household of Narcissus, which are in the Lord.

[12] Salute Tryphena and Tryphosa, who labour in the Lord. Salute the beloved Persis, which laboured much in the Lord.

[13] Salute Rufus chosen in the Lord, and his mother and mine.

[14] Salute Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermas, Patrobas, Hermes, and the brethren which are with them.

[15] Salute Philologus, and Julia, Nereus, and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints which are with them.

[16] Salute one another with an holy kiss. The churches of Christ salute you.

After all the Greetings and Saluting, then the Godly advice,

[17] Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.[18] For they that are such serve not our Lord Yeshua the Messiah their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

Paul was a dauntless (unlikely or unable to be frightened or discouraged) preacher of righteousness and truth.

We see rules and regulations in many letters to the congregations .

Most of the letters are to Gentile churches that came to a torah mindset.

These congregations did not know scripture and had to learn from scratch.

They needed many rules and regulations in their congregations to maintain order.

Paul needed organization so chaos  and sin would not abound.

Example: 1 Cor.5 [1] It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the (unsaved) Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.

The letters are just a small view from the past of some obstacles and situations that needed to be addressed by Saul.

So remember, Saul a Jew named Paul by the Greeks, had much work to do  with the Gentiles (nations) to bring them into holiness.

Saul gets his judgment from his Torah mindset

The commandments were not given to any other people but Israel.

The Israelites were raised knowing Torah, God’s ways.

We sadly see many did not obey God’s rules.

God says:

Amos 3 [2] You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.

Saul, a Jewish man has an encounter with Yeshua on his way to Damascus. Acts 9 and 22

Saul is now sent to the Gentiles, nations.

Acts.26 [17] Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, [18] To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them (Israel)  which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

Saul wanted his experiences and instructions to be read to other congregations

Col.4 [16] And when this epistle, letter is read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that ye likewise read the epistle, letter from Laodicea.

We have no letters from Saul to the Laodiceans as of today 2019.

However Yeshua has some words for the church of the Laodiceans:

Rev.3 [14] And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write;

These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

[15] I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
[16] So then because
thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

[17] Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
[18] I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with
eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
[19] As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

Words from God to the seven churches that were in Asia Minor

Rev.1 [11] Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia;

unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

We only have one letter from Saul to the Ephesians

We do not have any letters from Saul to Smyrna, Pergamos, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

Let’s read the letters, epistles with our Torah mindset:

There are 2 letters to Timothy from Saul

However no letters from Timothy to Saul

1Tim. 5

[1] Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father;

and the younger men as brethren;

[2] The elder women as mothers;

the younger as sisters, with all purity.

Widows

[3] Honour widows that are widows indeed.
[4] But if any
widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.

[5] Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.
[6] But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.

[7] And these things give in charge, that they may be blameless.

[8] But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

[9] Let not a widow be taken into the number under threescore years old, having been the wife of one man,
[10] Well reported
of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.

[11] But the younger widows refuse: for when they have begun to wax wanton against Messiah, they will marry;[12] Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith.

[13] And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

[14] I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.
[15] For some are already turned aside after Satan.
[16] If any man or
woman that believeth have widows, let them relieve them, and let not the church be charged; that it may relieve them that are widows indeed.

The elders

[17] Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

[18] For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.

[19] Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.

[20] Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.

1Tim.2

[9] In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
[10] But (which
becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

A bishop

1Tim.3

[1] This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.
[2]
A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
[3] Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
[4] One that
ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
[5] (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
[6] Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
[7] Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

The deacons

[8] Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;
[9] Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
[10] And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.
[11] Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.

[12] Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.
[13] For they that have used
the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Messiah Yeshua.

[14] These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly
:
[15] But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou
oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
[16] And
without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:

God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

The elders

1Pet.5 [1] The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Messiah, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:

[2] Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
[3] Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.

[4] And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

***[5] Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder.

Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

[6] Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:[7] Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

[8] Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

[9] Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

[10] But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Messiah Yeshua, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

[11] To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Call for the elders

James 1[14] Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church;

and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
[15] And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

[16] Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

[17] Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
[18] And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

[19] Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
[20] Let him know, that he which
converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

A letter to Titus from Saul, only one letter

However no letters from Titus to Saul

Tit.1

[1] Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Yeshua the Messiah, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;
[2] In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
[3] But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our
Saviour;
[4] To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Yeshua the Messiah our
Saviour.

Ordain elders

[5] For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:
[6] If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.

A bishop

[7] For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
[8] But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;
[9] Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

Tit. 2

[1] But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
[2] That
the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
[3] The
aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
[4]
That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
[5] To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Young men

[6] Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
[7] In all things
shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
[8] Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

[9]
Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;
[10] Not purloining, but
shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

[11] For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
[12] Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
[13] Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our
Saviour Yeshua the Messiah;
[14] Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
[15] These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee

[9] In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
[10] But (which
becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

[11] Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
[12] But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
[13] For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
[14] And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
[15] Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

A bishop

1Tim.3

[1] This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.
[2]

Yeshua’s instruction

Matt. 18

1 - [15] Moreover if thy brother (sister) shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

2 - [16] But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

3 - [17] And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: (the Elders)

4 - but if he neglect to hear the church, (the Elders)

 let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican. (kick them out)

Only one letter to the Ephesians from Saul

However no letters from the Ephesians to Saul

Eph.4 [11] And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

Why?

[12] For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Messiah…

In the same letters we just read, we see another thing to be aware of:

1Tim.1

[1] Paul, an apostle of Yeshua the  Messiah by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Yeshua the  Messiah, which is our hope;
[2] Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Yeshua the  Messiah our Lord.
[3] As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Ma
cedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,
[4] Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

[5] Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

[6] From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;
[7] Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

[8] But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;
[9] Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
[10] For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for
menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
[11] According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

[12] And I thank Messiah Yeshua our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;
[13] Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

[14] And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Messiah Yeshua.
[15] This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Messiah Yeshua came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
[16] Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Yeshua the Messiah might
shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
[17] Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be
honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

[18] This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;
[19] Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:
[20] Of whom is
Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.

2Tim.1

[13] Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Messiah Yeshua.
[14] That good thing which was committed unto thee
keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.

[15] This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me; of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes.

2Tim.4 [1] I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Yeshua the Messiah, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
[5] But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. [2] Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

[3] For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
[4] And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Tit.1

[7] For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
[8] But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

[9] Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

[10] For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:
[11] Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.

[12] One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.
[13] This witness is true.
Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;

[14] Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

[15] Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
[16] They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Remember:

Prov.11 [14] Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellers there is safety.

Prov.12 [20] Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellers of peace is joy.

Prov.15 [22] Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellers they are established.

Prov.24 [6] For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellers there is safety.

In closing: Yeshua said;

Mark 16 [15] And Yeshua said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. [16] He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

We are continuing Saul’s mission to the world. I hope and pray you understand we also need order in our congregations lest chaos and sin will prevail among us even in 2019, 20____.

Shabbat Shalom
