Shabbat Shalom

שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם

Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s

Today is March 9th, 2019 - in the 21 Century

March -- Mars' month

March was the original beginning of the year and the time for the resumption of war.

Mars is the Roman god of war. He is identified with the Greek god Ares.

Yehovah has His own calendar: We have a leap year this year

It is now Adar 2, day 1

We read from law and the prophets every Sabbath like they did in the Book of Acts

Acts: 13 [15] And after the reading of the law and the prophets…

Luke 24 [44] And Yeshua said unto them, These are the words which I spoke unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

Today’s Topic

The counsel of God

Which counsel are you hearing, counsel of God or false counsel?

Should we seek advice or Godly counsel from ministries we don’t really know?

Should we seek advice or Godly counsel from websites or any social media?

Pss.119 [24] Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors.

Pss.33 [11] The counsel of Yehovah standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.

Prov.11 [14] Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellers there is safety.

Prov.15 [22] Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellers they are established.

Prov.24 [6] For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellers there is safety.

Prov.19 [21] There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of Yehovah, that shall stand.

fake, bad counsel

1Chr.10

[1] Now the Philistines fought against Israel; and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down slain in mount Gilboa.
[2] And the Philistines followed hard after Saul, and after his sons; and the Philistines slew Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchi-shua, the sons of Saul.
[3] And the battle went sore against Saul, and the archers hit him, and he was wounded of the archers.
[4] Then said Saul to his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. So Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.

[5] And when his armourbearer saw that Saul was dead, he fell likewise on the sword, and died.
[6] So Saul died, and his three sons, and all his house died together.

[7] And when all the men of Israel that were in the valley saw that they fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, then they forsook their cities, and fled: and the Philistines came and dwelt in them.
[8] And it came to pass on the morrow, when the Philistines came to strip the slain, that they found Saul and his sons fallen in mount Gilboa.
[9] And when they had stripped him, they took his head, and his armour, and sent into the land of the Philistines round about, to carry tidings unto their idols, and to the people.
[10] And they put his armour in the house of their gods, and fastened his head in the temple of Dagon.
[11] And when all Jabesh-gilead heard all that the Philistines had done to Saul,
[12] They arose, all the valiant men, and took away the body of Saul, and the bodies of his sons, and brought them to Jabesh, and buried their bones under the oak in Jabesh, and fasted seven days.
[13] So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against Yehovah, even against the word of Yehovah, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to inquire of it;
[14] And inquired not of Yehovah:
therefore He slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse.

1Kgs.12

[1] And Rehoboam went to Shechem: for all Israel were come to Shechem to make him king.
[2] And it came to pass, when
Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who was yet in Egypt, heard of it, (for he was fled from the presence of king Solomon, and Jeroboam dwelt in Egypt;)
[3] That they sent and called him. And Jeroboam and all the congregation of Israel came, and spake unto Rehoboam, saying,
[4] Thy father made our yoke grievous: now therefore make thou the grievous service of thy father, and his heavy yoke which he put upon us, lighter, and we will serve thee.
[5] And he said unto them, Depart yet for three days, then come again to me. And the people departed.
[6] And
king Rehoboam consulted with the old men, that stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, and said, How do ye advise that I may answer this people?
[7] And they spake unto him, saying, If thou wilt be a servant unto this people this day, and wilt serve them, and answer them, and speak good words to them, then they will be thy servants for ever.

[8] But he forsook the counsel of the old men, which they had given him,

and consulted with the young men that were grown up with him, and which stood before him:[9] And he said unto them, What counsel give ye

that we may answer this people, who have spoken to me, saying, Make the yoke which thy father did put upon us lighter?

[10] And the young men that were grown up with him spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt thou speak unto this people that spake unto thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but make thou it lighter unto us; thus shalt thou say unto them, My little finger shall be thicker than my father's loins.
[11] And now whereas my father did lade you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father hath chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.

[12] So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam the third day, as the king had appointed, saying, Come to me again the third day.
[13] And the king answered the people roughly, and forsook the old men's counsel that they gave him;
[14] And spake to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, and I will add to your yoke: my father also chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.

[15] Wherefore the king hearkened not unto the people; for the cause was from Yehovah, that he might perform his saying, which Yehovah spake by Ahijah the Shilonite unto Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

[16] So when all Israel saw that the king hearkened not unto them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: to your tents, O Israel: now see to thine own house, David. So Israel departed unto their tents.

[17] But as for the children of Israel which dwelt in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them.

[18] Then king Rehoboam sent Adoram, who was over the tribute; and all Israel stoned him with stones, that he died. Therefore king Rehoboam made speed to get him up to his chariot, to flee to Jerusalem.
[19] So Israel rebelled against the house of David unto this day.
[20] And it came to pass, when all Israel heard that Jeroboam was come again, that they sent and called him unto the congregation, and made him king over all Israel: there was none that followed the house of David, but the tribe of Judah only.
[21] And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he assembled all the house of Judah, with the tribe of Benjamin, an hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men, which were warriors, to fight against the house of Israel, to bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam the son of Solomon.
[22] But the word of God came unto Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
[23] Speak unto Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and unto all the house of Judah and Benjamin, and to the remnant of the people, saying,
[24] Thus saith Yehovah, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren the children of Israel: return every man to his house; for this thing is from me. They hearkened therefore to the word of Yehovah, and returned to depart, according to the word of Yehovah.
[25] Then Jeroboam built Shechem in mount Ephraim, and dwelt therein; and went out from thence, and built Penuel.
[26] And Jeroboam said in his heart, Now shall the kingdom return to the house of David:
[27] If this people go up to do sacrifice in the house of Yehovah at Jerusalem, then shall the heart of this people turn again unto their lord, even unto Rehoboam king of Judah, and they shall kill me, and go again to Rehoboam king of Judah.
[28] Whereupon the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold, and said unto them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
[29] And he set the one in Bethel, and the other put he in Dan.
[30] And this thing became a sin: for the people went to worship before the one, even unto Dan.
[31] And he made an house of high places, and made priests of the lowest of the people, which were not of the sons of Levi.
[32] And Jeroboam ordained a feast in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, like unto the feast that is in Judah, and he offered upon the altar. So did he in Bethel, sacrificing unto the calves that he had made: and he placed in Bethel the priests of the high places which he had made.
[33] So he offered upon the altar which he had made in Bethel the fifteenth day of the eighth month, even in the month which he had devised of his own heart; and ordained a feast unto the children of Israel: and he offered upon the altar, and burnt incense

Jer.23 [18] For who hath stood in the counsel of Yehovah

Jer.23

[1] Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith Yehovah.

[2] Therefore thus saith Yehovah God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith Yehovah.

[3] And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.
[4] And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith Yehovah.

Messiah

[5] Behold, the days come, saith Yehovah, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
[6] In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called,
YEHOVAH OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

[7] Therefore, behold, the days come, saith Yehovah, that they shall no more say, The Yehovah liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
[8] But, The Yehovah liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.

[9] Mine heart within me is broken because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine hath overcome, because of Yehovah, and because of the words of his holiness.

[10] For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth; the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their force is not right.

[11] For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith Yehovah.

[12] Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery ways in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, saith Yehovah.

[13] And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied in Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.

[14] I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.

[15] Therefore thus saith Yehovah of hosts concerning the prophets; Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: for from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land.

[16] Thus saith Yehovah of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of Yehovah.

[17] They say still unto them that despise me, The Yehovah hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.
[18]
For who hath stood in the counsel of Yehovah, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it?
[19] Behold, a whirlwind of Yehovah is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked.

[20] The anger of Yehovah shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly.

[21] I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.

[22] But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.

[23] Am I a God at hand, saith Yehovah, and not a God afar off?

[24] Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith Yehovah. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith Yehovah.

[25] I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.

[26] How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart;
[27] Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal.

[28] The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith Yehovah.

[29] Is not my word like as a fire? saith Yehovah; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

[30] Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith Yehovah, that steal my words every one from his neighbour.

[31] Behold, I am against the prophets, saith Yehovah, that use their tongues, and say, He saith.

[32] Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith Yehovah, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith Yehovah.

[33] And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask thee, saying, What is the burden of Yehovah? thou shalt then say unto them, What burden? I will even forsake you, saith Yehovah.
[34] And as for the prophet, and the priest, and the people, that shall say, The burden of Yehovah,
I will even punish that man and his house.

[35] Thus shall ye say every one to his neighbour, and every one to his brother, What hath Yehovah answered? and, What hath Yehovah spoken?
[36] And the burden of Yehovah shall ye mention no more: for every man's word shall be his burden; for
ye have perverted the words of the living God, of Yehovah of hosts our God.

[37] Thus shalt thou say to the prophet, What hath Yehovah answered thee? and, What hath Yehovah spoken?
[38] But since ye say, The burden of Yehovah; therefore thus saith Yehovah; Because ye say this word, The burden of Yehovah, and I have sent unto you, saying, Ye shall not say, The burden of Yehovah;

[39] Therefore, behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence:
[40] And I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.

Jer.49[20] Therefore hear the counsel of Yehovah, that he hath taken against Edom…

Jer.50[45] Therefore hear ye the counsel of Yehovah, that he hath taken against Babylon…

Always in the middle of great miracles of Messiah, there is always the evil

Luke 7 [30] But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the “counsel of God” against themselves, being not baptized of him.

Luke.7 - Some Great miracles

[1] Now when Yeshua had ended all His sayings in the audience of the people, He entered into Capernaum.

[2] And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.
[3] And when he heard of Yeshua, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.
[4] And when they came to Yeshua, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:
[5] For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.
[6] Then Yeshua went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:
[7] Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.
[8] For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
[9] When Yeshua heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
[10] And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.

[11] And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.
[12] Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a
dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.
[13] And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her,
Weep not.
[14] And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.
[15] And
he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.

[16] And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.
[17] And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about.

[18] And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.

[19] And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Yeshua, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

[20] When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
[21] And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.

[22] Then Yeshua answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

[23] And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

[24] And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
[25] But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings' courts.
[26] But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.

[27] This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

**Mal.3 [1] Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to this temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith Yehovah of hosts.

[28] For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

[29] And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.

[30] But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.

[31] And the Lord Yeshua said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?
[32] They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.

[33] For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.

[34] The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!

[35] But wisdom is justified of all her children.

[36] And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee's house, and sat down to meat.

[37] And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Yeshua sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,
[38] And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

[39] Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.
[40] And Yeshua answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.

[41] There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.
[42] And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?
[43] Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.

[44] And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.
[45] Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.
[46] My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.
[47] Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.

[48] And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.

[49] And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?

[50] And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.

In Closing:

Saul tells us:

Acts.20 [27] For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

[28] Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

[29] For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.[30] Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

And he was correct as of 2019 – today thousands of religions, philosophies etc.

Beware!

Stay in the counsel of God
