 שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם

Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s.

September 12, 2020

Yesterday was 9/11 – a sad day to remember.

September -- the seventh month – Now the ninth month

Middle English septembre
Latin September
Latin
septem "seven" + -ber (adj. suffix)
Latin
september mensis "seventh month"

September had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius when it became 30 days long.

Yehovah God has His own calendar, which is deleted from the world

We are now in the 6th month of God called Elulday 23

Neh.6 [15] So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul ,  אֱלוּל in fifty and two days

Neh.7 [73] So the priests, and the Levites, and the porters, and the singers, and some of the people, and the
Nethinims, and all Israel, dwelt in their cities; and when the seventh month came, the children of Israel were in their cities.

Today’s Topic:

The God of peace

Peace offerings are abundant, a few different kinds below:

הַשְּׁלָמִ֖ים

שֶׁלֶם shelem {sheh'-lem}

Meaning:  1) peace offering, requital, sacrifice for alliance or friendship 1a) voluntary sacrifice of thanks

Usage:  AV - peace offerings 81, peace 6; 87

Let’s start:

Lev.7 [11] … this is the law of the “sacrifice of peace offerings”, which he shall offer unto Yehovah.

[12] If he offers it for a thanksgiving, then he shall offer with the sacrifice of thanksgiving unleavened cakes mingled with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil, and cakes mingled with oil, of fine flour, fried.
[
13] Besides the cakes, he shall offer for his offering leavened bread with the sacrifice of thanksgiving of his peace offerings.

[14] And of it he shall offer one out of the whole oblation for an heave offering unto Yehovah, and it shall be the priest's that sprinkles the blood of the peace offerings.

[15] And the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings for thanksgiving shall be eaten the same day that it is offered; he shall not leave any of it until the morning.

[16] But if the sacrifice of his offering be a vow, or a voluntary offering, it shall be eaten the same day that he offers his sacrifice: and on the morrow also the remainder of it shall be eaten:[17] But the remainder of the flesh of the sacrifice on the third day shall be burnt with fire.

[18] And if any of the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings be eaten at all on the third day, it shall not be accepted, neither shall it be imputed unto him that offers it: it shall be an abomination, and the soul that eats of it shall bear his iniquity.

[19] And the flesh that touches any unclean thing shall not be eaten; it shall be burnt with fire: and as for the flesh, all that be clean shall eat thereof.

[20] But the soul that eats of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings that pertain unto Yehovah, having his uncleanness upon him, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.

[21] Moreover the soul that shall touch any unclean thing, as the uncleanness of man, or any unclean beast, or any abominable unclean thing, and eat of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings, which pertain unto Yehovah, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.

Lev.19

[1] And Yehovah spoke unto Moses, saying,
[2] Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I Yehovah your God am holy.
[3] Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and keep my Sabbaths: I am Yehovah your God.
[4] Turn you not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am Yehovah your God.

[5] And if you offer a sacrifice of peace offerings unto Yehovah, you shall offer it at your own will.
[6] It shall be eaten the same day you offer it, and on the morrow: and if ought (any) remain until the third day, it shall be burnt in the fire.
[7] And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is abominable; it shall not be accepted.
[8] Therefore every one that eats it shall bear his iniquity, because he hath profaned the hallowed thing of Yehovah: and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

Lev.26

[1] Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall you set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am Yehovah your God.

[2] Ye shall keep my Sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am Yehovah.

[3] If you walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them;
[4] Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
[5] And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time: and you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.
[6] And
I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.
[7] And you shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.
[8] And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.
[9] For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.
[10] And you shall eat old store, and bring forth the old because of the new.
[11] And I will set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor you.
[12] And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and you shall be my people.
[13] I am Yehovah your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and
made you go upright.

Many trumpets, trumpets sounds

Num.10

[1] And Yehovah spoke unto Moses, saying,
[2] Make you two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shall you make them: that you may use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps.

[3] And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to you at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

[4] And if they blow but with one trumpet, then the princes, which are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto you.

[5] When you blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward.

[6] When you blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys.

[7] But when the congregation is to be gathered together, you shall blow, but you shall not sound an alarm.

[8] And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations.

[9] And if you go to war in your land against the enemy that oppress you, then you shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and you shall be remembered before Yehovah your God, and you shall be saved from your enemies.

[10] Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, you shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am Yehovah your God.

God told Abraham:  Gen.15 [15] you shall go to your fathers in peace; you shall be buried in a good old age.

God told Jacob:

Gen.28

[10] And Jacob went out from Beer-sheba, and went toward Haran.
[11] And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.
[12] And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.
[13] And, behold, Yehovah stood above it, and said, I am Yehovah God of Abraham your father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon you lie, to you will I give it, and to your seed;
[14] And your seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in you and in your seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
[15] And, behold, I am with you, and will keep you in all places whither you go, and will bring you again into this land; for I will not leave you, until I have done that which I have spoken to you of.
[16] And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely Yehovah is in this place; and I knew it not.
[17] And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.
[18] And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it.
[19] And he called the name of that place Bethel: but the name of that city was called Luz at the first.
[20] And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,
[21] So that I come again to my father's house in peace; then shall Yehovah be my God:

[22] And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God's house: and of all that you shall give me I will surely give the tenth unto you.

Moses told the people:

Exod.14

[10] And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto Yehovah.

Evil:

[11] And they said unto Moses, because there were no graves in Egypt, hast you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Wherefore hast you dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?

[12] Is not this the word that we did tell you in Egypt, saying, let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

[13] And Moses said unto the people, Fear you not, standstill, and see the salvation of Yehovah, which he will show to you today: for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you shall see them again no more forever.

[14] Yehovah shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.

[15] And Yehovah said unto Moses, Wherefore cry you unto me?

Speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:

[16] But lift you up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.

[17] And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them: and I will get me honor upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.
[18] And the Egyptians shall know that I am Yehovah, when I have gotten me honor upon Pharaoh, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

Num.25

[1] And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.
[2] And they called the people unto
the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.
[3] And Israel joined himself unto Baal-peor:

and the anger of Yehovah was kindled against Israel.

[4] And Yehovah said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before Yehovah against the sun, that the fierce anger of Yehovah may be turned away from Israel.

[5] And Moses said unto the judges of Israel, Slay you everyone his men that were joined unto Baal-peor.

[6] And, behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren a Midianitish woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

[7] And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from among the congregation, and took a javelin in his hand;
[8] And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel.

[9] And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand.

[10] And Yehovah spoke unto Moses, saying,
[11] Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy.

[14] Now the name of the Israelite that was slain, even that was slain with the Midianitish woman, was Zimri, the son of Salu, a prince of a chief house among the Simeonites.
[15] And the name of the Midianitish woman that was slain was Cozbi, the daughter of Zur; he was head over a people, and of a chief house in Midian.
[16] And Yehovah spake unto Moses, saying,
[17] Vex the Midianites, and smite them:
[18] For they vex you with their wiles, wherewith they have beguiled you in the matter of Peor, and in the matter of Cozbi, the daughter of a prince of Midian, their sister, which was slain in the day of the plague for Peor's sake.

Josiah King of Judah

2Kgs.22

[1] Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah of Boscath.
[2] And he did that which was right in the sight of Yehovah, and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left.
[3] And it came to pass in the eighteenth year of king Josiah, that the king sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, the son of Meshullam, the scribe, to the house of Yehovah, saying,
[4] Go up to Hilkiah the high priest, that he may sum the silver which is brought into the house of Yehovah, which the keepers of the door have gathered of the people:
[5] And let them deliver it into the hand of the doers of the work, that have the oversight of the house of Yehovah: and let them give it to the doers of the work which is in the house of Yehovah, to repair the breaches of the house,
[6] Unto carpenters, and builders, and masons, and to buy timber and hewn stone to repair the house.
[7] Howbeit there was no reckoning made with them of the money that was delivered into their hand, because they dealt faithfully.

[8] And Hilkiah the high priest said unto Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of Yehovah. And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it.

[9] And Shaphan the scribe came to the king, and brought the king word again, and said, Thy servants have gathered the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hand of them that do the work, that have the oversight of the house of Yehovah.
[10] And Shaphan the scribe showed the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath delivered me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king.

[11] And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the book of the law, that he rent his clothes.

[12] And the king commanded Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Achbor the son of Michaiah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asahiah a servant of the king's, saying,
[13]
Go you, inquire of Yehovah for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found: for great is the wrath of Yehovah that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is written concerning us.

[14] So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asahiah, went unto Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college;) and they communed with her.
[15] And she said unto them,
Thus says Yehovah God of Israel, Tell the man that sent you to me,
[16] Thus says Yehovah, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the words of the book which the king of Judah hath read:
[17] Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this place, and shall not be quenched
.

[18] But to the king of Judah which sent you to inquire of Yehovah, thus shall you say to him,

Thus says Yehovah God of Israel, As touching the words which you hast heard;
[19] Because your heart was tender, and you hast humbled thyself before Yehovah, when you heard what I spoke against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and hast rent your clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard you, says Yehovah.

[20] Behold therefore, I will gather you unto your fathers, and you shall be gathered into your grave in peace;

and your eyes shall not see all the evil which I will bring upon this place.

And they brought the king word again.

A few psalms and proverbs:

Pss.29 [11] Yehovah will give strength unto his people; Yehovah will bless his people with peace.

Pss.34 [12] What man is he that desires life, and loves many days, that he may see good?

[13] Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking guile.

[14] Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

[15] The eyes of Yehovah are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

[16] The face of Yehovah is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

[17] The righteous cry, and Yehovah hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.

[18] Yehovah is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saves such as be of a contrite spirit.

[19] Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but Yehovah delivers him out of them all.

[20] He keeps all his bones: not one of them is broken.
[
21] Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.

[22] Yehovah redeems the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.

Pss.37 [11] … the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

[37] Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.

Psalm 85: [7] Shaw us your mercy, O Yehovah and grant us your salvation.
[
8] I will hear what God Yehovah will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.
[
9] Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.
[10] Mercy and truth are met together; “righteousness and peace” have kissed each other.

Pss.119 [165] Great peace have they which love your law: and nothing shall offend them.

Pss.122 [6] Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love you.

Pss.128 [1] Blessed is every one that fears Yehovah; that walks in his ways.

[2] For you shall eat the labor of your hands: happy shall you be, and it shall be well with you.

[3] Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of your house: your children like olive plants round about your table.

[4] Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that fears Yehovah.

[5] Yehovah shall bless you out of Zion: and you shall see the good of Jerusalem all the days of your life.

[6] Yea, you shall see your children's children, and peace upon Israel.

Prov.3 [1] My son, forget not my law; but let your heart keep my commandments:[2] For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to you.

Prov.11 [12] He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbor: but a man of understanding holds his peace.

Prov.12 [20] Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counselors of peace is joy.

Prov.16 [7] When a man's ways please Yehovah, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

Prov.17 [28] Even a fool, when he holds his peace, is counted wise: and he that shuts his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.

A time for everything:

Ecc. 3: [8] A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Phil.4 [4] Rejoice in the Lord Yeshua always: and again I say, Rejoice.
[5] Let your moderation be known unto all men. Yehovah is at hand.
[6] Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

[7] And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Messiah Yeshua.

Col.3 [15] … let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also you are called in one body; and be you thankful.

Rom.15 [30] Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Yeshua the Messiah's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;
[31] That I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judaea; and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints;
[32] That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed.

[33] Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.

Rom.16 [17] Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which you have learned; and avoid them.
[18] For they that are such serve not our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

[19] For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil. [20] And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly.

The grace of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah be with you. Amen.

Heb.13 [17] Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

[18] Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.
[19] But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.

[20] Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Yeshua, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

[21] Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Yeshua the Messiah; to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

Messiah

Isa.9: [6] For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

[7] Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of Yehovah of hosts will perform this.

Messiah

Isa.53 [5] But Yeshua the Messiah was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.

Isa.45 [7] I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I Yehovah do all these things.

Isa.52 [7] How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that brings good tidings, that publishes peace; that brings good tidings of good, that publishes salvation; that says unto Zion, Thy God reign!

Nah.1 [15] Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that brings good tidings that publishes peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform your vows:

for the wicked shall no more pass through you; he is utterly cut off.

Isa.26 [3] God will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you: because he trusts in You.

Yeshua said:

Matt.5 [9] Blessed are the “peacemakers” - for they shall be called the children of God.

In closing for now:

There are many other verses of peace; you will have to look up yourselves, if you want…

Phil.4 [7] … the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Messiah Yeshua.

[9] Those things, which you have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Go in Peace

Peace be unto you
