The Voice of
the Trumpet
קוֹל
הַשֹּׁפָר
Today, I will
talk about 2 situations when the trumpet sounded

in combination) 1a1) ram's horn, trumpet 1b) jubilee year (marked by the blowing )

horn 5, trumpet 1; 27
שׁוֹפָר showphar {sho-far'} or שֹׁפָר shophar {sho-far'}

[1] In the third month, when the children of Israel
were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the
wilderness of Sinai.
[2] For they were
departed from Rephidim, and were come to the desert
of Sinai, and had pitched in the wilderness; and there Israel camped before the
mount.
[3] And Moses went up unto God, and Yehovah called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children
of Israel;
[4] Ye have seen what
I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you
unto myself.
[5] Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my
covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for
all the earth is mine:
[6] And ye shall be
unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation.
These are the words which thou shalt speak
unto the children of Israel.
[7] And Moses came and called for the elders of the
people, and laid before their faces all these words which Yehovah
commanded him.
[8] And all the people answered together, and said,
All that Yehovah hath spoken we will do. And Moses
returned the words of the people unto Yehovah.
[9] And Yehovah said unto Moses, Lo,
I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with
thee, and believe thee for ever.
And Moses told the words of the people unto Yehovah.
[10] And Yehovah said unto Moses, Go
unto the people, and sanctify them to day and to morrow,
and let them wash their clothes,
[11] And be ready
against the third day: for the third day Yehovah will come down in
the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.
[12] And thou shalt set bounds unto
the people round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves, that ye go not up into
the mount, or touch the border of it: whosoever toucheth
the mount shall be surely put to death:
[13] There shall not an hand touch it, but he shall surely be
stoned, or shot through; whether it be beast or man, it shall not live: when the
trumpet soundeth long, they shall come up to the mount.
[14] And Moses went down from the mount unto the
people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes.[15] And he said unto the people, Be ready against the third day: come not at your wives.
[16] And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and
a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so
that all the people that was in the camp trembled.
[17] And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet
with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount.
[18] And mount Sinai was altogether on
a smoke, because Yehovah descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace,
and the whole mount quaked greatly.
[19] And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake,
and God answered him by a voice.
[20] And Yehovah came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount: and Yehovah called Moses up to the top of the
mount; and Moses went up.
Plurality of God, verses 21, 22 and 24
[21] And Yehovah said unto Moses, Go down, charge the people, lest they break through unto Yehovah to gaze, and many of them perish.
[22] And let the priests also, which come near to Yehovah, sanctify themselves, lest Yehovah break forth upon them.
[23] And Moses said unto Yehovah,
The people cannot come up to mount Sinai: for thou chargedst us, saying, Set bounds about the mount, and
sanctify it.
[24] And Yehovah said unto him, Away, get thee down, and thou shalt come up, thou, and Aaron with thee: but let not the
priests and the people break through to come up unto Yehovah, lest he break forth upon them.
[25] So Moses went down unto the people, and spake unto them.
Another Trumpet
to ponder:
[1] Now Jericho was straitly
shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in.
[2] And Yehovah said unto
Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho,
and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour.
[3] And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of
war, and go round about the city once.
Thus shalt thou do six days.
[4] And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams' horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.
[5] And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's
horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the
city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man
straight before him.
[6] And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests,
and said unto them, Take up the ark of the covenant,
and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of Yehovah.
[7] And he said unto the people, Pass on, and
compass the city, and let him that is armed pass on before the ark of Yehovah.
[8] And it came to pass, when Joshua had spoken unto
the people, that the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams' horns passed on before Yehovah, and blew with the trumpets: and the ark of the covenant of Yehovah
followed them.
[9] And the armed men went before the priests that blew with the
trumpets, and the rereward came
after the ark, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.
[10] And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice,
neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you
shout; then shall ye shout.
[11] So the ark of Yehovah
compassed the city, going about it once: and they came into the camp, and
lodged in the camp.
[12] And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the
priests took up the ark of Yehovah.
[13] And seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of Yehovah went on
continually, and blew with the trumpets: and the armed men
went before them; but the rereward came after the ark
of Yehovah, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.
[14] And the second day they compassed the city once, and
returned into the camp: so they did six days.
[15] And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city
after the same manner seven times: only on that day they compassed the city seven times.
[16] And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto
the people, Shout; for Yehovah hath given you the
city.
[17] And the city shall be accursed, even it, and all
that are therein, to Yehovah: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her
in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.
[18] And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest ye
make yourselves accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp
of Israel a curse, and trouble it.
[19] But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of
brass and iron, are consecrated unto Yehovah: they
shall come into the treasury of Yehovah.
[20] So the people shouted when the priests blew with the
trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down
flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.
[21] And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman,
young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword.
[22] But Joshua had said unto the two men that had
spied out the country, Go into the harlot's house, and bring out thence the
woman, and all that she hath, as ye sware unto her.
[23] And the young men that were spies went in, and
brought Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and
her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and
left them without the camp of Israel.
[24] And they burnt the city with fire, and all that was therein: only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron,
they put into the treasury of the house of Yehovah.
[25] And Joshua saved Rahab
the harlot alive, and her father's household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel even unto this day; because she hid the
messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.
[26] And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before Yehovah,
that riseth up and buildeth
this city Jericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in
his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it.
[27] So Yehovah was with
Joshua; and his fame was noised throughout all the country.
2 Tim. 2 [20] … in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honor, and some to dishonor. [21] If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every
good work.
1Cor.3 [10] According to the grace of God
which is given unto me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation,
and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how
he builds thereupon.
[11] For other foundation can no man lay than that is
laid, which is Yeshua the Messiah.
[12] Now if any man build
upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
[13] Every man's work shall be made manifest: for
the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's
work of what sort it is.
[14] If any man's work abide which he hath built
thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
[15] If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. (if he or she repents)
[16] Know you not that ye are the temple of God, and that the
Spirit of God dwells in you?
[17] If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is
holy, which temple ye are.
[18] Let no man deceive himself.
If any man among you seemeth to be wise in
this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
[19] For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For
it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
[20] And again, Yehovah knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.
[21] Therefore let no man glory in men…
In the Torah,
the number 7 starts with the Sabbath
Gen.2
[1] Thus the heavens and the
earth were finished, and all the host of them.
[2] And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had
made.
[3] And God blessed the seventh day, and
sanctified it: because that in it he had
rested from all his work which God created and made.
Gen.8 [4] And the
ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the
mountains of Ararat.
2Pet.3 bad works burnt up
[1] This second epistle, (the website) beloved, I now write
unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
[2] That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken
before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the
Lord and Savior:
[3] Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,[4] And saying, Where is the promise of his
coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things
continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
[5] For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the
earth standing out of the water and in the water:[6] Whereby the world
that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
[7] But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and
perdition of ungodly men.
[8] But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one
day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
[9] Yehovah is not slack concerning
his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not
willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
[10] But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night;
in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with
fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
[11] Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought
ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,[12] Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall
be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
[13] Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth
righteousness.
[14] Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in
peace, without spot,
and blameless.
[15] And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is
salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given
unto him hath written unto you;
[16] As also in all
his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard
to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do
also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
[17] Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest
ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
[18] But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Yeshua the Messiah. To
him be glory both now and for ever.
Amen.
In conclusion:
1: Hear the
sound of the trumpet
2: You better have repented before
3: ascend up, be freed, and spend eternity with
God
