שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם

Today, we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s,

Today is May 8, 2021

May -- Maia's month

Old French Mai
Old English
Maius
Latin
Maius "of Maia"
Latin
Maius mensis "month of Maia"

Maius has always had 31 days.

Maia (meaning "the great one") is the Italic goddess of spring, the daughter of Faunus, and wife of Vulcan.

Yehovah God has His own calendar, which is deleted from the world

We are now in the second month called Ziv, day 25

Ziv - "brightness" - זִו

1Kgs.6 [1] … it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Ziv, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of Yehovah.

[37] In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of Yehovah laid, in the month Ziv...

This is our fifth Sabbath of the seven week journey again, spiritually speaking, we were told to count:

In this journey we again observe in memorial, spiritually to meet God to receive the commandments and to receive the (Baptism) Spirit of God.

From slaves in Egypt (our last lives of sin) to the people of God

Remember: We were told to count "Sabbaths" in:

Lev.23 [15] And you shall count unto you from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Sabbaths shall be complete:[16] Even unto the morrow after the seventh Sabbath shall you number fifty days; and you shall offer a new meat offering unto Yehovah.

Not to count omers like many people are doing which sounds ridiculous and unscriptural.

An "omer" is a "sheaf" of barley - עמר omer - A dry measure of 1/10 ephah (about 2 liters)

Soon to come:

Feast of Weeks, Hag Sh'vu-ot - חַג שָׁבֻעֹת

Feast of Harvest Hag ha katseer - חַג הַקָּצִיר

Pentecost πεντηκοστή - pentēkoste

Sunday May 23, 2021

Remember: these days always start the evening before:

The New moon is Friday the 14th of May, 2021

Esth.8 [9] …the third month, that is, the month Sivan… סִיוָן

Today’s Topic:

Thoughts - the Heart again

Gen.6

[5] And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

[6] And it repented Yehovah that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

[7] And Yehovah said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repents Me that I have made them.

And this was at the beginning; I wonder how He feels today in 2021. L

Deut.15

[9] Beware that there be not a thought in your wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and your eye be evil against your poor brother, and you give him naught; and he cry unto Yehovah against you, and it be sin unto you.

1Sam.1

[13] Now Hannah, she spoke in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunk.

1Chr.2

[9] And you, Solomon my son, know you the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind:

for Yehovah searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts:

if you seek Him, He will be found of you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off for ever.

1Chr.29 David said:

[18] O Yehovah God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this forever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of your people, and prepare their heart unto you: [19] And give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep your commandments, your testimonies, and your statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for the which I have made provision.

Esth.6

[6] So Haman came in. And the king said unto him, What shall be done unto the man whom the king delights to honor? Now Haman thought in his heart, to whom would the king delight to do honor more than to myself?  big mistake

Pss.33

[11] The counsel of Yehovah stands for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.

Pss.64

[1] Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
[2] Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:
[3] Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:
[4] That they may shoot in secret
at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.
[5] They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, who shall see them?

[6] They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.

[7] But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.
[8] So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away.
[9] And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.
[10] The righteous shall be glad in Yehovah, and shall trust in him; and
all the upright in heart shall glory.

Pss.139

[23] Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: [24] And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Jer.4

[14] O Jerusalem, wash your heart from wickedness, that you may be saved. How long shall your vain thoughts lodge within you?

Jer.23

[20] The anger of Yehovah shall not return, until He has executed, and till He has performed the thoughts of His heart: in the latter days you shall consider it perfectly.

Jer.17

[9] The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

[10] I Yehovah search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

Some Psalms and Proverb pertaining to the heart:

Pss.7

[9] Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God tries the hearts and reins.

Pss.19

[8] The statutes of Yehovah are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of Yehovah is pure, enlightening the eyes.

Pss.44

[20] If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;[21] Shall not God search this out?

He knows the secrets of the heart.

Pss.45

[1] My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
[2] Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into your lips: therefore God hath blessed you forever.
[3] Gird your sword upon your thigh, O most mighty, with your glory and your majesty.
[4] And in your majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and your right hand shall teach you terrible things.

[5] Your arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; whereby the people fall under you.

[4] That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.

[10] The righteous shall be glad in Yehovah, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.

Pss.104

[14] God causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth; [15] And wine that makes glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengthens man's heart.

Pss.105

[1] O give thanks unto Yehovah; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.

Prov.14

[10] The heart knows his own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy.

[13] Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth is heaviness.

Prov.15

[7] The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.

[11] Hell and destruction are before Yehovah: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?

[13] A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.

[14] The heart of him that hath understanding seeks knowledge: but the mouth of fools feeds on foolishness.

[28] The heart of the righteous studies to answer: but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things.

And he that keeps your soul, does he not he know it?

And shall not he render to every man according to his works?

Prov.25

[3] The heaven for height, and the earth for depth, and the heart of kings is unsearchable.

A few verses of the heart in Ecclesiastes

Ecc.7

[3] Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.

[4] The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth.

[7] Surely oppression makes a wise man mad; and a gift destroys the heart.

Ecc.8

[11] Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

Ecc.9

[3] This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all:

yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead.

Some verses in the Gospels and Letters pertaining to the heart:

Matt.9

[1] And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city.
[
2] And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Yeshua seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; your sins be forgiven you.
[
3] And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemes.

[4] And Yeshua knowing their thoughts said, wherefore think you evil in your hearts?

[5] For which is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven you; or to say, Arise, and walk?

[6] But that you may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins,

(Then he said to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up your bed, and go unto your house.

Matt.15 - Mark 7 combined

[19] For out of the heart proceeds:

evil thoughts,

murders,

adulteries,

fornications,

thefts,

false witness,

blasphemies:

adulteries,
covetousness,

wickedness,

deceit,

lasciviousness,

an evil eye,

pride,

foolishness:

[20] These are the things which defile a man…

Luke 2 the Birth of Yeshua

[34] And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;[35] (Yea, a sword shall pierce through your own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

Luke 9

[46] Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest.

[47] And Yeshua, perceiving the thought of their heart,

took a child, and set him by Him, [48] And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in My name receives Me: and whosoever shall receive Me receives Him, the Father that sent Me:

for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.

Acts 8

[18] And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,
[
19] Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.
[
20] But Peter said unto him, your money perishes with you, because you hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
[
21] You have neither part nor lot in this matter: for your heart is not right in the sight of God.

[22] Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.

1Cor.

[5] Therefore judge nothing before the time,

In your own spirit or make a final judgment on someone,

until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

Heb.4

[12] For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

[13] Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with whom we have to do

After the resurrection,

Luke 24

[13]… two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.
[14] And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
[15] And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Yeshua himself drew near, and went with them.

[16] But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.

[17] And He said unto them, what manner of communications are these that you have one to another, as you walk, and are sad?

[18] And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, are you only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass therein these days?

[19] And He said unto them, what things? And they said unto Him, concerning Yeshua of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:
[20] And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.

[21]
But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel:

Wrong thought…

and beside all this, today is the third day since these things were done.

[22] Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulcher;
[23] And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which
said that He was alive.
[24] And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulcher, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.

[25] Then He said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
[26] Ought not Messiah to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
[27] And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning Himself.

[28] And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.
[29] But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.
[30] And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them,
He took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.

[31] And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and He vanished out of their sight.

[32] And they said one to another; Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

[33] And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,
[34] Saying,
The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.

[35] And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.

[36] And as they spoke, Yeshua himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

[37] But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.

[38] And he said unto them, why are you troubled? And why do thoughts arise in your hearts?

[39] Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as you see me have.

[40] And when he had thus spoken, he showed them his hands and his feet.

[41] And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, have you here any meat?

[42] And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of a honeycomb.
[43] And he took it, and did eat before them.

[44] And He said unto them, these are the words which I spoke unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
[45] Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
[46] And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Messiah to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
[47] And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

[48] And you are witnesses of these things.

[49] And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry you in the city of Jerusalem, until you be endued with power from on high.
[50] And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
[51] And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.

[52] And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:
[53] And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God.

Amen.

In closing for another Sabbath day:

Watch your thoughts, your heart - What is ever in your heart will come out of your mouth one day…

Yeshua said:

Luke 6 [45] A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth that which is evil:

for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

Next week will be the 6th Sabbath of the 7 Sabbath we were told to count, Lord willing…
