Shabbat Shalom

שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם

Today, we sadly use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s.

Today is July 1, 2023

July -- Julius Caesar's month

Middle English Julie
Latin Julius "Julius"
Latin Julius mensis "month of Julius"
Latin quintilis mensis "fifth month" - now the seventh month
L

Quintilis (and later Julius) has always had 31 days.

Julius Caesar reformed the Roman calendar (hence the Julian calendar) in 46 BC. In the process, he renamed this month after himself.  L

We are now in the 4th month, day 12 of God, no scriptural Bible name

Judaism and some Messianics that follow Judaism say Tammuz, which is wrong

Here is woman weeping for Tammuz – (pagan deity)

תַּמּוּז Tammuwz {tam-mooz'}

Meaning:  Tammuz = a Sumerian deity

Ezek.8 [14] Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the Yehovah's house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz – (pagan deity)  תַּמּוּז - a Sumerian deity of food or vegetation, a Phoenician deity

Today’s topic:

A few scriptures pertaining to:

Time and judgment

There is a time for every purpose and for every work

עֵת `eth

Meaning:  1) time 1a) time (of an event) 1b) time (usual) 1c) experiences, fortunes 1d) occurrence, occasion

Usage:  AV - time 257, season 16, when 7, always 4, evening tide 2, misc 10; 296 times

Ecc.3

[1] To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

Many words for “purpose”, here is the Hebrew word in Ecc. 3

Purpose:

02656 חֵפֶץ chephets

Meaning:  1) delight, pleasure 1a) delight 1b) desire, longing 1c) the good pleasure 1d) that in which one takes delight

Usage:  AV - pleasure 16, desire 12, delight 3, purpose 3, acceptable 1, delightsome 1, matter 1, pleasant 1, willingly 1; 39 times

Back to Ecc.3

[2] A time to be born, and a time to die;

a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

[3] A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

[4] A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

[5] A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

[6] A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

[7] A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

[8] A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

28 times in life

[9] What profit had he that works in that wherein he labored?

[10] I have seen the travail, which God had given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.
[11] He had made everything beautiful in his time: also he had set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God makes from the beginning to the end.

[12] I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.

[13] And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labor, it is the gift of God.

[14] I know that, whatsoever God does, it shall be forever: nothing can be put to it, or anything taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.

[15] That which had been is now; and that which is to be had already been; and God requires that which is past.

[16] And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.

[17] I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked

for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.

[18] I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.

[19] For that which befalls the sons of men befalls beasts; even one thing befalls them: as the one dies, so dies the other;

yea, they have all one breath; so that a man had no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.

[20] All go unto one place;

all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.

[21] Who knows the spirit of man that goes upward, and the spirit of the beast that goes downward to the earth?

[22] Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion:

for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?

Rev.10 – Brother John recorded what he saw:

[1] And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:
[2] And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth,
[3] And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roars: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.
[4] And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.

[5] And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,
[6] And swore by him that lives forever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein,
that there should be time no longer:

[7] But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound,

the mystery of God should be finished,

as he had declared to his servants the prophets.

Here is some sound wisdom

Ecc.9 [10] Whatsoever thy hand finds to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither you goes.

[11] I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happens to them all.

[12] For man also knows not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falls suddenly upon them.

[13] This wisdom have I seen also under the sun, and it seemed great unto me:
[
14] There was a little city, and few men within it; and there came a great king against it, and besieged it, and built great bulwarks against it:
[
15] Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet
no man remembered that same poor man.

[16] Then said I, Wisdom is better than strengthnevertheless the poor man's wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.

[17] The words of wise men are heard in quiet more than the cry of him that rules among fools.

[18] Wisdom is better than weapons of war: but one sinner destroys much good.

Judgment:

מִשְׁפָּט

mishpâṭ

a verdict (favorable or unfavorable) pronounced judicially, especially a sentence or formal decree or divine law, individually or collectively), including the act, the place, the suit, the crime, and the penalty; charge, crime, determination, discretion, disposing, due, time (of judgment), decision (in law), sentence, decision (of judgment), execution (of judgment)

שָׁפַט

shâphaṭ - A primitive root; to judge, that is, pronounce sentence (for or against); by implication to vindicate or punish; by extension to govern; passively to litigate (literally or figuratively): condemn, contend, defend, execute (judgment), (be a) judge (-ment), plead, reason, rule.

Pss.101 [1] I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, Yehovah, will I sing.

Pss.103 [6] Yehovah executes righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

1 Peter 4:

[17] For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
[
18] And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

2 Pet.2 - full chapter

[1] But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
[2] And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
[3] And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now
of a long time lingers not, and their damnation slumbers not.
[4] For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
[5] And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
[6] And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;
[7] And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
[8] (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
[9] The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
[10] But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, self-willed, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

[11] Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.
[12] But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
[13] And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceiving while they feast with you;
[14] Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
[15] Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
[16] But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
[17] These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
[18] For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
[19] While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
[20] For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Yeshua the Messiah, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
[21] For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
[22] But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

Rom.14:10 We shall all stand before the judgment seat of Messiah

2 Cor.5 :10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Messiah;

that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he had done, whether it be good or bad

Terms:

Eternal judgment

Judgment and fiery indignation

He had reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

The hour of his judgment is come

Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous is your judgments.

Time and judgment

Ecc.8

[5] Whoso keeps the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man's heart discerns both time and judgment.

[6] Because to every purpose there is
time and judgment, therefore the misery of man is great upon him.

[7] For he knows not that which shall be: for who can tell him when it shall be?

[8] There is no man that had power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither had he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it.

[9] All this have I seen, and applied my heart unto every work that is done under the sun: there is a time wherein one man rules over another to his own hurt.

[10] And so I saw the wicked buried, who had come and gone from the place of the holy, and they were forgotten in the city where they had so done: this is also vanity.

[11] Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

[12] Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him:

[13] But it shall not be well with the wicked neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he fears not before God.

Jer.8 [7] Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of Yehovah.

Yeshua said, follow Me

Gen.19 [26] But Lot’s wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.

looked back –

נָבַט

nabaṭ

A primitive root; to scan, that is, look intently at; by implication to regard with pleasure, favor or care: - (cause to) behold, consider, look (down), regard, have respect, to see.

Yeshua said:

Matt.10

[32] Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
[33] But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

[34] Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

[35] For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
[36] And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

[37] He that loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

[38] And he that takes not his cross, and follows after me, is not worthy of me.

[39] He that finds his life shall lose it: and he that loses his life for my sake shall find it.

Luke 14 [26] If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

Matt.8 [19] And a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever you go.

[20] And Yeshua said unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man had not where to lay his head.

[21] And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
[22] But Yeshua said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.

Luke.9 [57] And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever you go.
[58] And Yeshua said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man had not where to lay his head.

[59] And he said unto anotherFollow me.

But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.

[60] Yeshua said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead:

but go you and preach the kingdom of God.

[61] And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.
[62] And Yeshua said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and
looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

In closing:

Part of a song we wrote:

Time is like a river, raging, from sea to sea.

Time has no boundaries

Time never sleeps

Don’t waste your time foolishly

We shall all stand before the judgment seat of Messiah

Ecc.12 [14] For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
