Shabbat Shalom

שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם

Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s

Today is March 16th, 2019 - in the 21 Century

March -- Mars' month

March was the original beginning of the year and the time for the resumption of war.

Mars is the Roman god of war. He is identified with the Greek god Ares.

Yehovah has His own calendar: We have a leap year this year

It is now Adar 2, day 8

We read from law and the prophets every Sabbath like they did in the Book of Acts

Acts: 13 [15] And after the reading of the law and the prophets…

Luke 24 [44] And Yeshua said unto them, These are the words which I spoke unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

 Today’s Topic

To whom will you liken God?

Today’s study in a nutshell:

A few things to remember and forget not:

1:

We need to actually remember and forget not who we dealing with, “the everlasting God”

Be careful you don’t put a “limit” on who God is and what He can do today!

2:

Whatever we do in our lives, we should do it with enthusiasm, zeal, with all our heart.

We need to be godly overseers of what we say, what we do, where we go, and who we are with at all times. (Diligent, functional and punctual) J

3:

Put nothing before God

4:

Put no one, or thing before God

5:

Believe God

Jas.2 [19] Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

Heb.11 [6] But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

Let’s start:

Deut.4 [35] Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that Yehovah He is God; there is none else beside Him.
[36] Out of heaven he made thee to hear His voice, that he might instruct thee: and upon earth he shewed thee His great fire; and thou heardest His words out of the midst of the fire.

[37] And because He loved thy fathers, therefore He chose their seed after them, and brought thee out in His sight with His mighty power out of Egypt;
[38] To drive out nations from before thee greater and mightier than thou art, to bring thee in, to give thee their land for an inheritance, as it is this day.
[39] Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that Yehovah He is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.

[40] Thou shalt keep therefore His statutes, and His commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which Yehovah thy God giveth thee, for ever.

1Kgs.8 [60] That all the people of the earth may know that Yehovah is God, and that there is none else. [61] Let your heart therefore be perfect with Yehovah our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.

Joel 2 [27] And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am Yehovah your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.

Isa.40 [10] Behold, the Lord Yehovah will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.
[
11] He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
[
12] God - Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?
[
13] Who hath directed the Spirit of Yehovah, or being His counselor hath taught him?
[
14] With whom took He counsel, and who instructed Him, and taught Him in the path of judgment, and taught Him knowledge, and shewed to Him the way of understanding?

[15] Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, He taketh up the isles as a very little thing.
[
16] And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt offering.
[
17] All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity.

[18] To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him?

[19] The workman melteth a graven image, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver chains.
[
20] He that is so impoverished that he hath no oblation chooseth a tree that will not rot; he seeketh unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, that shall not be moved.

[21] Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?

[22] It is He that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:
[
23] That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.
[
24] Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.

[25] To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.

[26] Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of  his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.
[27] Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from Yehovah, and my judgment is passed over from my God?

[28] Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, Yehovah, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

[29] He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
[
30] Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
[
31] But they that wait upon Yehovah shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Isa.45

[1] Thus saith Yehovah to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;
[2] I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:
[3] And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, Yehovah, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.
[4] For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.
[5] I am Yehovah, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:
[6] That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am Yehovah, and there is none else.
[7] I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I Yehovah do all these things.
[8] Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I Yehovah have created it.
[9] Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?
[10] Woe unto him that saith unto his father, What begettest thou? or to the woman, What hast thou brought forth?
[11] Thus saith Yehovah, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me.
[12] I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.
[13] I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith Yehovah of hosts.
[14] Thus saith Yehovah, The labour of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia and of the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall come after thee; in chains they shall come over, and they shall fall down unto thee, they shall make supplication unto thee, saying, Surely God is in thee; and there is none else, there is no God.
[15] Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.
[16] They shall be ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: they shall go to confusion together that are makers of idols.
[17] But Israel shall be saved in Yehovah with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

[18] For thus saith Yehovah that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am Yehovah; and there is none else.

[19] I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I Yehovah speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.

[20] Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.
[21] Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I Yehovah? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.

[22] Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
[23] I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.
[24] Surely, shall one say, in Yehovah have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.
[25] In Yehovah shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.

Cities: Bell, Nebo

Isa.46 [1] Bel boweth down, Nebo stoopeth, their idols were upon the beasts, and upon the cattle: your carriages were heavy loaden; they are a burden to the weary beast.
[
2] They stoop, they bow down together; they could not deliver the burden, but themselves are gone into captivity.

[3] Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, which are borne by me from the belly, which are carried from the womb:
[
4] And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.

[5] To whom will ye liken Me, and make me equal, and compare Me, that we may be like?

[6] They lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance, and hire a goldsmith; and he maketh it a god: they fall down, yea, they worship.
[
7] They bear him upon the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place, and he standeth; from his place shall he not remove: yea, one shall cry unto him, yet can he not answer, nor save him out of his trouble.
[
8] Remember this, and shew yourselves men: bring it again to mind, O ye transgressors.
[
9] Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
[
10] Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
[
11] Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.

[12] Hearken unto me, ye stouthearted, that are far from righteousness:[13] I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.

Ecc. 9 [10] Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might;

for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

1Cor.10 [17] And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Yeshua, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

[31] Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

Col.3 [23] And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Yehovah, and not unto men: [24] Knowing that of Yehovah ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Messiah.
[25] But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

1Cor.9

[16] For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of:

for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!

[17] For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.
[18] What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Messiah without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.
[19] For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.

[20] And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
[21] To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Messiah,) that I might gain them that are without law.
[22] To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

[23] And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.
[24] Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
[25] And every man that striveth for the mastery is
temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

Temperate: mild or restrained in behavior or attitude

[26] I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
[27] But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Rom. 8

[35] Who shall separate us from the love of Messiah?

shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

[36] As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

[37] Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
[38] For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
[39] Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Messiah Yeshua our Lord.

Yeshua said:

Matt. 10

[34] Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

[35] For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
[36] And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
[37] He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me:

and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

[38] And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
[39] He that findeth his life shall lose it:

and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

Mic.7

[5] Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom.
[6] For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house.

Our beloved brother Saul / Paul

Acts 20 [26] Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.
[27] For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

[28] Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

[29] For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
[30] Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
[31] Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.
[32] And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
[33] I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel.
[34] Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.
[35] I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Yeshua, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
[36] And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.
[37] And they all wept sore, and fell on Paul's neck, and kissed him,
[38] Sorrowing most of all for the words which he spake, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him unto the ship.

In closing: I couldn’t have said it any better,

Deut. 8

[11] Beware that thou forget not Yehovah thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day:
[12] Lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein;
[13] And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied;
[14] Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget Yehovah thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;
[15] Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;
[16] Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;
[17] And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth.
[18] But thou shalt remember Yehovah thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
[19] And it shall be, if thou do at all forget Yehovah thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish.
[20] As the nations which Yehovah destroyeth before your face, so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient unto the voice of Yehovah your God.

Pss.103

בָּרְכִי נַפְשִׁי, אֶת-יְהוָה

[1] Bless Yehovah, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
[2] Bless Yehovah, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
[3] Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
[4] Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
[5] Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. [6] Yehovah executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

[10] He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
[11] For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
[12] As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
[13] Like as a father pitieth his children, so Yehovah pitieth them that fear him.
[14] For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
[15] As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
[16] For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
[17] But the mercy of Yehovah is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;
[18] To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.
[19] Yehovah hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.
[20] Bless Yehovah, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.
[21] Bless ye Yehovah, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.
[22] Bless Yehovah, all his works in all places of his dominion:

bless Yehovah, O my soul!
