Isa.28 [11] For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

כִּי בְּ לַעֲגֵי שָׂפָה , וּבְלָשׁוֹן אַחֶרֶת , יְדַבֵּר, אֶל־הָעָם הַזֶּה

1Cor.14 [21] In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.

Mark.16[ 17] And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues ;

Acts.2[ 3] And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. [4 ] And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

[11] Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.[ 12] And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?[ 13] Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.[14] But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:[15] For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

[16] But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel 2:28 [ 17] And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God,I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:[18] And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

[19] And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:[20] The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:[21 ] And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Joel.2[ 28] And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:[ 29] And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.[ 30] And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.[ 31] The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.[32] And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

Acts.10[ 45] And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.[46] For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,[47] Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?[48 ] And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

Acts.19[ 2] He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.[3 ] And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism .[4] Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.[5] When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.[6 ] And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

1Cor.12[ 1] Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

[4] Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.[5 ] And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.[6] And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.[ 7] But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.[8 ] For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; [ 9] To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; [10 ] To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

[28] And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

[30] Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues ? do all interpret?

1Cor.13[ 1] Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

[8] Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

1Cor.14[ 1] Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts , but rather that ye may prophesy.
[2] For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God:

[4] He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church[5] I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.

[6] Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues , what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?

[18] I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:

[21] In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.

[22] Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

[23] If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?

[39] Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues .
