of the LORD to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not.
1Kgs.8[25] Therefore now, LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David
my father that thou promisedst him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man
in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; so that thy children take heed
to their way, that they walk before me as thou hast walked before me.
[36] Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and
of thy people Israel, that thou teach them the good way wherein they should
walk, and give rain upon thy land, which thou hast given to thy people for
an inheritance.

[12] Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that
go down into the pit:
[13] We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with
spoil:
[14] Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:
[15] My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their
path:
[16] For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.

Prov.2
[1] My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with
thee;
[2] So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to
understanding;
[3] Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;
[4] If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
[5] Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge
of God.
[6] For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
[7] He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them
that walk uprightly.
[8] He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.
[9] Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity;
yea, every good path.
[10] When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto
thy soul;
[11] Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:
[12] To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh
froward things;
[13] Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
[14] Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;
[15] Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:
[16] To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which
flattereth with her words;
[17] Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant
of her God.
[18] For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead.
[19] None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths
of life.
[20] That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of
the righteous.
[21] For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain
in it.

paths.

[16] For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep
is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.
[17] For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.
[18] But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more
and more unto the perfect day.
[19] The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.
[20] My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
[21] Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine
heart.

flesh.
[23] Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of
life.
[24] Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from
thee.
[25] Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before

[2] That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.
[3] For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth
is smoother than oil:
[4] But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword.
[5] Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.
[6] Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable,
that thou canst not know them.
[7] Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words
of my mouth.
[8] Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:
[9] Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel:
[10] Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the
house of a stranger;
[11] And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
[12] And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;
[13] And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear
to them that instructed me!
