12] For the
day of the LORD of hosts shall be
upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up;
and he shall be brought low:
Isa.13[
6] Howl ye; for the
day of the LORD is at hand; it shall
come as a destruction from the Almighty.
[9] Behold,
the day of the LORD cometh,
cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall
destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
Isa.34[
8] For it is the day of the
LORD's vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.
Jer.46[
10] For this is the
day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day

GOD of hosts hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.

tremble: for the day of the LORD
cometh, for it is nigh at hand;
[11] And the
LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for
he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of
the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide
it?
[31] The sun
shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and
the terrible day of the LORD
come.

is near in the valley of decision.
Amos.5
[18] Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for
you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.
[19] As if a man
did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned
his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.[20
] Shall not the day of the LORD
be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?

and the king's children, and all such as are clothed with strange apparel.
[14] The great
day of the LORD is near, it
is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty
man shall cry there bitterly.
[18] Neither

for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.

, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in
their seasons. [37] These are
the feasts of the LORD
, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations,

feasts of the LORD
our God. This is an ordinance for ever to Israel.

third month, when the children
of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they
into the wilderness of Sinai.

------------
We are reading all of chapter 6 of Joshua
Josh.6[
4] And seven priests shall bear
before the ark seven trumpets
of rams' horns:
and the seventh day
ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow
with the trumpet
s.
[5] And it shall
come to pass, that when they make a long blast
with the ram's horn, and when ye hear the sound of the
trumpet
, all the people shall shout
with a great shout
; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people
shall ascend up every man straight before him.
[6] And Joshua
the son of Nun called the priests, and said unto them, Take up the ark of the
covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets
of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD.
[8] And it came
to pass, when Joshua had spoken unto the people, that the seven
priests bearing the seven trumpets
of rams' horns passed on before the LORD, and blew with the
trumpets: and the ark of the
covenant of the LORD followed them.
[9] And the
armed men went before the priests that blew with the
trumpets, and the rereward
came after the ark, the priests going on, and blowing with the
trumpets.
[13] And
seven priests bearing seven trumpets
of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD went on continually,
and blew with the trumpets:
and the armed men went before them; but the rereward
came after the ark of the LORD, the priests going on, and blowing with the
trumpets.
[16] And it
came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the
trumpets, Joshua said unto the people,
Shout; for the LORD hath given
you the city.
[20] So the
people shouted when the priests blew with the
trumpets:
and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the
trumpet
, and the people shouted with a great shout,
that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every
man straight before him, and they took the city.

up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
------------
Joel.2[1
] Blow ye the trumpet in Zion
, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the
inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is
nigh at hand;[2] A day of darkness
and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread
upon the mountains:
[15
] Blow the trumpet
in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:
Zeph.1[
15] That day is a day of wrath,
a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of
darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,

he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet
, and they shall gather together his elect from the
four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
1Cor.15
[52] In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the
trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall
be changed.
Rev.1[10]
I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a
great voice, as of a trumpet
,
Rev.4[
1] After this I looked, and,
behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was
as it were of
a trumpet talking with me
; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which
must be hereafter.
Rev.8[
2] And I saw the
seven angels which stood before God;
and to them were given seven trumpets
.
[6] And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared
themselves to sound.
Rev.10[
7] But
in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound,
the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants
the prophets.
Rev.11[
15] And the
seventh angel sounded; and there were
great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms
of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
Rev.16[
17] And the
seventh angel poured out his vial
into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from
the throne, saying,
It is done.
SHALOM
[2] For they were departed from
Rephidim, and were come to the desert of Sinai, and had pitched in the wilderness;
and there Israel camped before the mount.
[3] And Moses went up unto God,
and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say
to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel;
[4] Ye have seen what I did
unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto
myself.
[5] Now therefore, if ye will
obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure
unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
[6] And ye shall be unto me
a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt
speak unto the children of Israel.
[7] And Moses came and called
for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which
the LORD commanded him.
[8] And all the people answered
together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned
the words of the people unto the LORD.
[9] And the LORD said unto Moses,
Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak
with thee, and believe thee for ever. And Moses told the words of the people
unto the LORD.
[10] And the LORD said unto Moses, Go unto the people,
and sanctify them to day and to morrow, and let them wash their clothes,
[11]
And be ready against the third day:
for the third day the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon
mount Sinai.
[12]
And thou shalt set bounds unto the people round about, saying, Take heed to
yourselves, that ye go not up into the mount, or touch the border of it: whosoever
toucheth the mount shall be surely put to death:
[13] There shall not an hand
touch it, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through; whether it be beast
or man, it shall not live: when the trumpet soundeth long, they shall come
up to the mount.
[14] And Moses went down from
the mount unto the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their
clothes.
[15] And he said unto the people,
Be ready against the third day
: come not at your wives.
[16] And it came to pass
on the third day in the morning
, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon
the mount, and the voice of the trumpet
exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in
the camp trembled.
[17] And Moses brought forth
the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part
of the mount.
[18] And mount Sinai was altogether
on a smoke, because the LORD descended
upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as
the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.
[19] And when
the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and
waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.
[20]
And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai,
on the top of the mount: and the LORD called Moses
up to the top of the mount; and Moses went up.
[22] And let the priests also,
which come near to the LORD, sanctify themselves, lest the LORD break forth
upon them.
[23] And Moses said unto the
LORD, The people cannot come up to mount Sinai: for thou chargedst us, saying,
Set bounds about the mount, and sanctify it.
[24] And the
LORD said unto him,
Away, get thee down, and thou shalt come up, thou, and Aaron with thee: but
let not the priests and the people break through
to come up unto the LORD
, lest
he
break forth upon them.
[25] So Moses went down unto
the people, and spake unto them.
--------------
[16]
A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities,
and against the high towers.
[17] And I will bring distress
upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against
the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the
dung.
[18] Neither their silver nor
their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD's wrath; but
the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall
make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.
