Gen.8 [4]
And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the
seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.
Lev.16 [29]
And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month,
on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at
all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you: [30] For on that day shall the priest
make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your
sins before Yehovah.
[31] It shall be a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a
statute for ever.
[32] And the priest, whom he shall anoint, and whom he shall consecrate
to minister in the priest's office in his father's stead, shall make the
atonement, and shall put on the linen clothes, even the holy garments:
[33] And he shall make an atonement for the holy sanctuary, and he shall
make an atonement for the tabernacle of the congregation, and for the altar,
and he shall make an atonement for the priests, and for all the people of the
congregation.
[34] And this shall be an everlasting statute unto you, to make an atonement for the children of Israel for all their sins once a year.
And he did as Yehovah commanded Moses.
Lev.23 [24] Speak unto the children of
Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye
have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.
[27]
Also on the tenth day of this seventh month
there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy
convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering
made by fire unto Yehovah. [28] And ye shall do no work in that same day: for
it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before Yehovah
your God.
[29] For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that
same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.
[30] And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the
same soul will I destroy from among his people.
[31] Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever
throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
[32] It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye
shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto
even, shall ye celebrate your Sabbath
[33]
And Yehovah spake unto Moses, saying,[34]
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The
fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven
days unto Yehovah.
[34]
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month
shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto Yehovah.
[35] On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no
servile work therein.
[36] Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Yehovah:
on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering
made by fire unto Yehovah: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work
therein.
[37] These are the feasts of Yehovah, which ye shall
proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto Yehovah,
a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day:
[38] Beside the sabbaths of Yehovah, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and
beside all your freewill offerings, which ye give unto Yehovah.
[39]
Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in
the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto Yehovah
seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth
day shall be a sabbath.
[40]
And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of
palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye
shall rejoice before Yehovah your God seven days.
[41]
And ye shall keep it a feast unto Yehovah seven days in the
year. It shall be a statute for
ever in your generations: ye shall
celebrate it in the seventh month.
[42]
Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell
in booths:
[43] That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel
to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am Yehovah
your God.
[44] And Moses declared unto the children of Israel the feasts of Yehovah.
Lev.25 [9] Then shalt
thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in
the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land.
[10]
And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the
land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile
unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall
return every man unto his family.
[11] A jubile shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither
reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of thy vine
undressed.
[12] For it is the jubile; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase
thereof out of the field.
[13] In the year of this jubile ye shall return every man unto his
possession.
[14] And if thou sell ought unto thy neighbour, or buyest
ought of thy neighbour's hand, ye shall not oppress one another:
[15] According to the number of years after the jubile
thou shalt buy of thy neighbour, and according unto the number of years of the fruits he
shall sell unto thee:
[16] According to the multitude of years thou shalt
increase the price thereof, and according to the fewness of years thou shalt
diminish the price of it: for according to the number of the years of the
fruits doth he sell unto thee.
[17] Ye shall not therefore oppress one another; but thou shalt
fear thy God: for I am Yehovah your God.
[18] Wherefore ye shall do my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do
them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety.
Num.29 [1] And in the
seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have an holy
convocation; ye shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets
unto you.
[7]
And ye shall have on the tenth day of this seventh month an holy
convocation; and ye shall afflict your souls: ye shall not do any work therein:
[12]
And on the fifteenth day of the seventh month ye shall have an holy
convocation; ye shall do no servile work, and ye shall keep a feast unto Yehovah
seven days:
----------------------------
1Kgs.8 [2] And all the
men of Israel assembled themselves unto king Solomon at the feast in the
month ha Ethanim, which
is the seventh month.
the feast of tabernacles
-------------------------
2Kgs.25 [25] But it came to pass in the
seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama,
of the seed royal, came, and ten men with him, and smote Gedaliah,
that he died, and the Jews and the Chaldees that were with him
at Mizpah.
---------------------------------
2Chr.5 [3] Wherefore
all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto the king in the feast which was in the seventh month.
the feast of tabernacles
----------------------------------
2Chr.7 [10] And on the three and
twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away into their
tents, glad and merry in heart for the goodness that Yehovah
had shewed unto David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people.
2Chr.31 [7] In the
third month they began to lay the foundation of the heaps, and finished them in the seventh month.
Ezra.3 [1] And when the seventh
month was come, and the children of Israel were in the cities, the people
gathered themselves together as one man to Jerusalem.[6] From the first
day of the seventh month began they to offer burnt offerings unto Yehovah.
But the foundation of the temple of Yehovah was not yet laid.
Neh.7 [73] So the priests, and the
Levites, and the porters, and the singers, and some of the people, and the Nethinims,
and all Israel, dwelt in their cities; and when the seventh month came,
the children of Israel were in their cities.
Neh.8 [1] And all the people gathered
themselves together as one man into the street that was before the water gate;
and they spake unto Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses,
which Yehovah had commanded to Israel. [2] And Ezra the priest
brought the law before the congregation both of men and women, and all that
could hear with understanding, upon the first day of the seventh month.
[14]
And they found written in the law which Yehovah had commanded by
Moses, that the children of Israel should dwell in booths in the feast of the
seventh month:
[15]
And that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities, and in
Jerusalem, saying, Go forth unto the mount, and fetch olive branches, and pine
branches, and myrtle branches, and palm branches, and branches of thick trees,
to make booths, as it is written.
[16] So the people went forth, and brought them, and made themselves
booths, every one upon the roof of his house, and in their courts, and in the
courts of the house of God, and in the street of the water gate, and in the street of
the gate of Ephraim.
[17] And all the congregation of them that were come again out of the
captivity made booths, and sat under the booths: for since the days of Jeshua
the son of Nun unto that day had not the children of Israel done so. And there
was very great gladness.
[18] Also day by day, from the first day unto the last day, he read in
the book of the law of God. And they kept the feast seven days; and on the
eighth day was a solemn assembly, according unto the manner.
Jer.28 [17] So (evil) Hananiah the
prophet died the same year in the seventh month.
Jer.41 [1] Now it came to pass in the
seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah the son of Elishama,
of the seed royal, and the princes of the king, even ten men with him, came
unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and there they did eat bread together in Mizpah.
Ezek.45 [25] In the
seventh month, in the fifteenth day of the month, shall he do the
like in the feast of the seven days,
according to the sin offering, according to the burnt offering, and according
to the meat offering, and according to the oil.
Hag.2 [1] In the seventh month,
in the one and twentieth day of the month,
came the word of Yehovah by the prophet Haggai, saying, [2] Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech,
the high priest, and to the residue of the people, saying,
[3] Who is left among you that saw this house in her first glory? and how do
ye see it now? is it not in your eyes in comparison of it as nothing?
Zech.7 [5] Speak unto all the people of
the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth
and seventh month, even those seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me,
even to me?
