Shabbat Shalom

 שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם

Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s.

August 1, 2020 - in the 21 Century

 August -- Augustus Caesar's month

Latin Augustus "Augustus"
Latin Augustus
mensis "month of Augustus"
Latin
sextilis mensis "sixth month"

Sextilis had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius when it became 31 days long.

Augustus Caesar clarified and completed the calendar reform of Julius Caesar. In the process, he also renamed this month after himself.

Yehovah God has His own calendar, which is deleted from the world

We are now in the 5th month of God, day 10 - no scriptural name

Judaism uses Av, a made up name – a lie

Today’s Topic:

A few words of caution

Ensample – example

Noun:

One of a number of things, or a part of something, taken to show the character of the whole:

This painting is an example of his early work.

A pattern or model, as of something to be imitated or avoided: to set a good example.

an instance serving for illustration; specimen:

The case histories gave carefully detailed examples of this disease.

An instance illustrating a rule or method, as a mathematical problem proposed for solution.

An instance, especially of punishment, serving as a warning to others: Public executions were meant to be examples to the populace.

A precedent; parallel case:an action without example.

verb (used with object), ex·am·pled, ex·am·pling

Rare:  to give or be an example of; exemplify (used in the passive).

Phil.3 [17] Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as you have us for an ensample.

18] (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Messiah:
[19] Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
[20] For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Savior, the Lord
Yeshua the Messiah:
[21] Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

1Thes.1 [5] for our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as you know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. [6] And you became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:

[7] So that you were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.

2Thes.3 [7] For yourselves know how you ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
[8] Neither did we eat any man's bread for naught; but wrought with labor and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:

[9] Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.

1Pet.5 [1] The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Messiah, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
[2] Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;

[3] Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.

[4] And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, you shall receive a crown of glory that fades not away.

2Pet.2 [4] For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
[5] And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

[6] And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

[7] And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
[8] (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
[9] The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the Day of Judgment to be punished:

John.13 [15] For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.

[16] Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.[17] If you know these things, happy are you if you do them.

1Cor.10 [1] Moreover, brethren, I would not that you should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
[2] And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
[3] And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
[4] And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Messiah.
[5] But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
[6]
Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. [7] Neither be you idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, the people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
[8] Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
[9] Neither let us tempt Messiah, as some of them also tempted, and were
destroyed of serpents.
[10] Neither murmur you, as some of them also murmured, and were
destroyed of the destroyer.
[11] Now all these things happened unto them
for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
[12] Wherefore let him that thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.
[13] There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it.
[14] Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

[6] Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

1Tim.4 [12] Let no man despise thy youth; but be you an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Heb.4 [11] Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Heb.8 [1] Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
[2] A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
[3] For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.
[4] For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:

[5] Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, said he, that you make all things according to the pattern showed to you in the mount.

[6] But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

Jas.5 [10] Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.

[11] Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

1Pet.2 [21] For even hereunto were you called: because Messiah also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow his steps:

[22] Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
[23] Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judges righteously:
[24] Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes you were healed.
[25] For you were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto

Jude. [5] I will therefore put you in remembrance, though you once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
[6] And the angels who kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

[7] Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Admonition

Admonition - A calling attention to, that is, (by implication) mild rebuke or warning

Counsel, advice, or caution

A gentle reproof

A warning or reproof given by an authority

1Cor.10 [11] Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Eph.6 [1] Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
[2] Honor thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)
[3] That it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.

[4] And, you fathers provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

[8] Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.

Tit.3 [10] A man that is a heretic after the first and second admonition reject; [11] Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sins, being condemned of himself.

Take heed

Exod.34 [12] Take heed to thyself, lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither you goes, lest it be for a snare in the midst of you:

Num.23 [12] And he answered and said, Must I not take heed to speak that which Yehovah hath put in my mouth?

[13] But you shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves:
[14] For you shall worship no other god: for
Yehovah, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
[15] Lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods , and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call you, and you eat of his sacrifice;
[16] And you take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods.
[17] Thou shall make you no molten gods.

Deut.4

[1] Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that you may live, and go in and possess the land which Yehovah God of your fathers gives you.

[2] Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall you diminish ought from it, that you may keep the commandments of Yehovah your God which I command you.

[9]
Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest you forget the things which your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons…

[10] Specially the day that you stood before Yehovah thy God in Horeb, when Yehovah said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.

[11] And you came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire unto the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness.
[12] And
Yehovah spoke unto you out of the midst of the fire: you heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only you heard a voice.
[13] And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even Ten Commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.
[14] And
Yehovah commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, that you might do them in the land whither you go over to possess it.

[15] Take you therefore good heed unto yourselves; for you saw no manner of similitude on the day that Yehovah spoke unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire:
[16] Lest you corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,
[17] The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flies in the air,
[18] The likeness of anything that creeps on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth:
[19] And lest you lift up your eyes unto heaven, and when you see the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, should be driven to worship them, and serve them, which
Yehovah thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

 [23] Take heed unto yourselves, lest you forget the covenant of Yehovah your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of anything, which Yehovah thy God hath forbidden you.
[24] For
Yehovah thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.

Deut.11 [16] Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and you turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;

[17] And then Yehovah's wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest you perish quickly from off the good land which Yehovah gives you.

Deut.12 [13] Take heed to thyself that you offer not thy burnt offerings in every place that you see:

[14] But in the place which Yehovah shall choose in one of thy tribes, there you shall offer thy burnt offerings, and there you shall do all that I command you.

[19] Take heed to thyself that you forsake not the Levite as long as you live upon the earth.

[30] Take heed to thyself that you be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before you; and that you inquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? Even so will I do likewise.

[31] Thou shall not do so unto Yehovah thy God: for every abomination to Yehovah, which he hate, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.

[32] What thing so ever I command you, observe to do it: you shall not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

Matt.6 Yeshua said [1] Take heed that you do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise you have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

Matt.16 [6] Then Yeshua said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

Matt.18 [10] Take heed that you despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

Mark.13 [5] And Yeshua answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you: [6] For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Messiah; and shall deceive many.

[9] But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues you shall be beaten: and you shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.

Luke.8[18] Take heed therefore how you hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seems to have.

Luke.11 [35] Take heed therefore that the light which is in you be not darkness.

Luke.12[15] And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consists not in the abundance of the things which he possesses.

Luke.17 [3] Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against you, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.

[4] And if he trespass against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to you, saying, I repent; you shall forgive him.

Luke.21 [8] And he said, Take heed that you be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Messiah; and the time draws near: go you not therefore after them.

[34] And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

Acts.20 Paul said: [28] Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Heb.3 [12] Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

[13] But exhort one another daily, while it is called Today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

2Pet.1 [19] We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto you do well that you take heed, as unto a light that shins in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

[20] Knowing this first that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.[21] For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Beware

Exod.23 [21] Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him.

Deut.6 [12] … beware lest you forget Yehovah, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

Deut.8 [11] Beware that you forget not Yehovah thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command you this day:

[12] Lest when you hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein;
[13] And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that you hast is multiplied;
[14] Then your heart be lifted up, and you forget
Yehovah thy God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;

Deut.15 [9] Beware that there be not a thought in thy wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and you be evil against thy poor brother, and you give him naught; and he cry unto Yehovah against you, and it be sin unto you

Matt.7 [15] Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Matt.10 [17] But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues…

Mark.8 [15] And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod. – Hypocrisy – false doctrine

Mark.12[38] And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces, [39] And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts:
[40] Which devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prays: these shall receive greater damnation.

Luke.12 [1] In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware you of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

[15] And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consists not in the abundance of the things which he possesses.

Luke.20 [46] Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts; [47] Which devour widows' houses, and for a show make long prays: the same shall receive greater damnation.

2Pet.3 [17] You therefore, beloved, seeing you know these things before, beware lest you also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.

Exhort / Exhortation

an utterance, discourse, or address conveying urgent advice or recommendations.

verb (used with object) to urge, advise, or caution earnestly; admonish urgently.

verb (used without object) to give urgent advice, recommendations, or warnings.

1Thes.5 [14] Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

2Thes.3

[10] For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
[
11] For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.

[12] Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.[13] But you, brethren, be not weary in well doing.

1Tim.2 [1] I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prays, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; [2] For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

2Tim.4 [2] Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

Tit.1[9] Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

Tit.2[6] Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.

[15] These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise you.

Heb.3[13] But exhort one another daily, while it is called Today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

Heb.10 [25] Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as you see the day approaching.

Heb.12 [1] Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
[
2] Looking unto Yeshua the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
[
3] For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest you be wearied and faint in your minds.
[
4] Ye have not you resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

Don’t forget - [5] And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks unto you as unto children, My son, despise not you the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when you art rebuked of him…

1Pet.5 [1] The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Messiah, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: [2] Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
[
3] Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.

[12] By Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein you stand.

Jude.1 [3] Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that you should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

1Tim.4 [13] Till I come; give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

In closing: What can I say but…

Take heed to all these words of exhortation; beware of all the examples presented here J

And one day:

Rev. 1

[7] … He, Messiah / God cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see Him, and they also which pierced Him: and all kindred’s of the earth shall wail because of Him, even so, amen.[8] I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, says the Lord Yeshua, Messiah, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Amen
