Today, we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s,

The date is May 28, 2022 (in the 21 Century)

May -- Maia's month

Old French Mai
Old English Maius
Latin Maius "of Maia"
Latin Maius mensis "month of Maia"

Maius has always had 31 days.

Maia (meaning "the great one") is the Italic goddess of springthe daughter of Faunus, and wife of Vulcan.

The God of Israel has His own Calendar:

We are now in the second month of God called Zif, day 26, זִו   Ziv

ziv - brightness, (figuratively) the month of flowers

1 Kgs.6 [1] And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of Yehovah.

Today is the 5th Sabbath of the seven Sabbaths we were told to count

We were told to count "Sabbaths" not omers.

An "omer" is a "sheaf" of barley - עמר omer - A dry measure of 1/10 ephah (about 2 liters)

Lev.23 [15And you shall count unto you from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Sabbaths shall be complete:

[16] Even unto the morrow after the seventh Sabbath shall you number fifty days; and you shall offer a new meat offering unto Yehovah.

Our seven week journey we observe, in memorial to meet God again on Mt. Sinai to receive the commandments and receive the Spirit of God.

From slaves in Egypt (our last lives of sin) to the people of God

The giving of the Law (10 commandments) and the giving of the Holy Spirit

How are you be behaving these 50 days? (Physically and Spiritually)

Today’s Topic

 A short look at:

A God of truth

  אֵ֤ל אֱמוּנָה

In the God of truth

בֵּאלֹהֵ֣י אָמֵ֔ן

Truth:

אֱמֶת emeth

Meaning:  1) firmness, faithfulness, truth, sureness, reliability, stability, continuance, faithfulness, reliable, truth as spoken of testimony and judgment, of divine instruction, truth as a body of ethical or religious knowledge, true doctrine, in truth, truly

אֱמוּנָה 'emuwnah or )shortenedאֱמֻנָה ( 'emunah

Meaning:  1) firmness, fidelity, steadfastness, steadiness

John 14 [6] Yeshua saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

 אָנֹכִי הַדֶּרֶךְ וְהָאֱמֶת וְהַחַיִּים

Deut.32 [1] Give ear, O you heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
[2] My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:
[3] Because I will publish the name of Yehovah: ascribe you greatness unto our God.
[4] He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

verity - the quality or state of being true or real

Pss.111 [7] The works of His hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.

1Tim.2 [7] Where unto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.

Pss.15 [1] Yehovah, who shall abide in your tabernacle? Who shall dwell in your holy hill?
[2] He that walks uprightly, and works righteousness, and speaks the truth in his heart.
[3] He that backbites not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his neighbor.
[4] In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honored them that fear Yehovah, he that swears to his own hurt, and changes not.
[5] He that puts not out his money to usury, nor takes reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

Pss.25 [5] Lead me in your truth, and teach me: for you are the God of my salvation; on you do I wait all the day.

[10] All the paths of Yehovah are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

Pss.26 [1] Judge me, Yehovah; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the Yehovah; therefore I shall not slide.
[2] Examine me, Yehovah, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.
[3] For your loving kindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in your truth.
[4] I have not sat with vain persons neither will I go in with dissemblers.
[5] I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked.
[6] I will wash mine hands in innocency: so will I compass your altar, Yehovah:
[7] That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all your wondrous works.
[8] Yehovah, I have loved the habitation of your house, and the place where your honor dwells.
[9] Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men:
[10] In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes.
[11] But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me.
[12] My foot stands in an even place: in the congregations will I bless the Yehovah.

Pss.30 [9] What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise you? shall it declare your truth? [10] Hear, O Yehovah, and have mercy upon me: Yehovah, be you my helper.
[11] You have turned for me my mourning into dancing: you have put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;
[12] To the end that my glory may sing praise to you, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto you forever.

Pss.31 [5] Into your hand I commit my spirit: you have redeemed me, Yehovah God of truth.

Pss.33 [4] For the word of Yehovah is right; and all his works are done in truth.

Pss.40 [10] I have not hid your righteousness within my heart; I have declared your faithfulness and your salvation: I have not concealed your loving kindness and your truth from the great congregation.[11] Withhold not you your tender mercies from me, Yehovah: let your loving kindness and your truth continually preserve me.

Pss.43 [3] O send out your light and your truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto your holy hill, and to your tabernacles.

Pss.45 [4] And in your majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and your right hand shall teach you terrible things.

Pss.51 [6] Behold, you desire truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part you shall make me to know wisdom.

Pss.54 [5] He God shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in your truth.

Pss.57 [9] I will praise you, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto you among the nations.[10] For your mercy is great unto the heavens, and your truth unto the clouds.
[11] Be you exalted, O God, above the heavens: let your glory be above all the earth.[
10] For your mercy is great unto the heavens, and your truth unto the clouds.

Pss.60 [4] You have given a banner to them that fear you, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.

Pss.61 [1] Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.
[2] From the end of the earth will I cry unto you, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
[3] For you hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.
[4] I will abide in your tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of your wings. Selah.
[5] For you, O God, have heard my vows: you hast given me the heritage of those that fear your name.
[6] You will prolong the king's life: and his years as many generations.
[7] He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him.
[8] So will I sing praise unto your name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.

Pss.69 [13] … as for me, my prayer is unto you, Yehovah, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of your mercy hear me in the truth of your salvation.

Pss.71 [22] I will also praise you with the psaltery, even your truth, O my God: unto you will I sing with the harp, O you Holy One of Israel.

Pss.85 [10] Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.[11] Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.

Pss.86 [11] Teach me your way, Yehovah; I will walk in your truth: unite my heart to fear your name.

[15] But you, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.

Pss.89 [14] Justice and judgment are the habitation of your throne: mercy and truth shall go before your face.

Pss.91 [4] He God shall cover you with his feathers, and under His wings shall you trust: His truth shall be your shield and buckler.

Pss.96 [1] O sing unto Yehovah a new song: sing unto Yehovah, all the earth.
[2] Sing unto Yehovah, bless his name; show forth his salvation from day to day.
[3] Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.
[4] For Yehovah is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.
[5] For all the gods of the nations are idols: but Yehovah made the heavens.
[6] Honor and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
[7] Give unto Yehovah, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto Yehovah glory and strength.
[8] Give unto Yehovah the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts.
[9] O worship Yehovah in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.
[10] Say among the heathen that Yehovah reigns: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously.
[11] Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fullness thereof.
[12] Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice
[13] Before Yehovah: for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth: He shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.

Pss.98 [1] O sing unto Yehovah a new song; for He had done marvelous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.
[2] Yehovah had made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly showed in the sight of the heathen.
[3] He had remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
[4] Make a joyful noise unto Yehovah, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.
[5] Sing unto Yehovah with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.
[6] With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before Yehovah, the King.
[7] Let the sea roar, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
[8] Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together [9] Before Yehovah; for He cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.

Pss.100 [5] For Yehovah is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endures to all generations.

Pss.108s[4] For your mercy is great above the heavens: and your truth reaches unto the clouds.

Pss. 111 [1]  הַ֥לְלוּ יָ֙הּPraise Yah. I will praise Yehovah with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.
[2] The works of
Yehovah are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.
[3] His work is honorable and glorious: and his righteousness endures forever.
[4] He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered:
Yehovah is gracious and full of compassion.
[5] He had given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.
[6] He hath showed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen.
[7] The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.
[8] They stand fast forever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.
[9] He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.
[10] The fear of
Yehovah is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endures forever.

Pss.115 [1] Not unto us, Yehovah, not unto us, but unto your name give glory, for your mercy, and for your truth's sake.

Pss.117 [2] For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of Yehovah endures forever. Praise Yah.    הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּ

Pss.119 [30] I have chosen the way of truth: your judgments have I laid before me.

[142] Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and your law is the truth.

[151] You are near, Yehovah; and all your commandments are truth.

Pss.132 [11] Yehovah had sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of your body will I (Messiah) set upon your throne.

Pss.138 [2] I will worship toward your holy temple, and praise your name for your loving kindness and for your truth: for you have magnified your word above all your name.

Pss.145 [18] The Yehovah is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

Pss.146 [5] Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Yehovah his God: [6] Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keeps truth for ever…

A few proverbs:

Prov.12 [17] He that speaks truth shows forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.

[19] The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

Prov.14 [22] Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.

Prov.16 [6] By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of Yehovah men depart from evil.

Prov.20 [28] Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upheld by mercy.

Prov.22 [17] Bow down your ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply your heart unto my knowledge.
[18] For it is a pleasant thing if you keep them within you; they shall withal be fitted in your lips.
[19] That your trust may be in Yehovah, I have made known to you this day, even to you.
[20] Have not I written to you excellent things in counsels and knowledge, [21] That I might make you know the certainty of the words of truth; that you might answer the words of truth to them that send unto you?

Prov.23 [23] Buy (acquire, possess) the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.
