שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם
Today, we sadly use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s.
Today’s date is Jan. 14, 2023
January -- Janus's month
Middle English Januarie
Latin Januarius "of
Janus"
Latin Janu(s) "Janus"
+ -arius "ary (pertaining
to)"
Latin Januarius mensis "month
of Janus"
Janus is the Roman god of gates and doorways, depicted with two faces looking in opposite directions. His festival month is January. Januarius had 29 days, until Julius when it became 31 days long.
The God of Israel has His own Calendar: we are now in the 10th month of God, Teveth, day 21
Esth.2 [16] So Esther was taken unto king Ahasuerus into his house royal in the tenth month, which is the month Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign. טֵבֵת

Angels

Angel
מַלְאָךְ
mal'ak {mal-awk'}
Meaning: 1) messenger, representative
1a) messenger 1b) angel
Angels of God
מַלְאֲכֵי
אֱלֹהִים
Contrary to the world’s view, Angels are not just cute little cream
puffs with wings…
God’s Angels are mighty
Seems like Angels are everywhere…
Sometimes an Angel acts like the Word, the Son, God is some other
form
Gen.16 [7] And the angel of
Yehovah
found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way
to Shur.
[8] And he said, Hagar, Sarai's maid,
whence came you? And whither will you go? And she said,
I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai.
[9] And the angel of
Yehovah
said unto her, Return to your mistress and submit
yourself under her hands.
[10] And the angel of Yehovah
said unto her, I will multiply your seed exceedingly, that it shall not be
numbered for multitude.
[11] And the angel of Yehovah
said unto her, Behold, you are with child, and shall bear a son, and shall call
his name Ishmael; because Yehovah had heard your affliction.
[12] And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against
every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence
of all his brethren.
[13] And she called the name of Yehovah
that spoke unto her, You God see me: for she said, Have I also here looked
after him that sees me?
[14] Wherefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi;
behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered.
Be'er la-Chay Ro'iy {be-ayr' lakh-ah'ee ro-ee'} בְּאֵר לַחַי רֹאִי
Meaning: Beer-lahai-roi = "well of the Living One seeing me"
[15] And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called his son's
name, which Hagar bare, Ishmael.
[16] And Abram was fourscore and six years old, when Hagar bare Ishmael
to Abram.
Gen.19
[1] And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;
[2] And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you,
into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and you
shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, nay; but we will abide
in the street all night.
[3] And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in
unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake
unleavened bread, and they did eat.
[4] But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of
Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every
quarter:
[5] And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which
came in to you this night? bring them out
unto us, that we may know them.
[6] And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,
[7] And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.
[8] Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I
pray you, bring them out unto you, and do you to them as is good in your eyes: only
unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.
[9] And they said, Stand
back. And they said again, this one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will
needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with you, than
with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break
the door.
[10] But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to
them, and shut to the door.
[11] And they smote the men that
were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that
they wearied themselves to find the door.
[12] And the men said unto Lot, Have you here any besides? Son in law,
and your sons, and your daughters, and whatsoever you have in the city, bring
them out of this place:
[13] For we will
destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of Yehovah;
and Yehovah
had sent us to destroy it.
[14] And Lot went out, and spoke unto his sons in law,
which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out
of this place; for Yehovah
will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in
law.
[15] And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying,
Arise, take your wife, and your two daughters, which are here; lest you be
consumed in the iniquity of the city.
[16] And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand,
and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; Yehovah being merciful unto him: and they
brought him forth, and set him without the city.
[17] And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that
he said, Escape for your life; look not behind you, neither stay you in all the
plain; escape to the mountain, lest you be consumed.
[18] And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my Lord:
[19] Behold now, your servant had found grace in your sight, and you
have magnified your mercy, which you have showed unto me in saving my life; and
I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die:
[20] Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one:
Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live.
[21] And he said unto him, See, I
have accepted you concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this
city, for the
which you have spoken.
[22] Haste you, escape
thither; for I cannot do anything till you are come thither. Therefore the name
of the city was called Zoar.
[23] The sun was risen upon the
earth when Lot entered into Zoar.
[24]
Then Yehovah
rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from Yehovah
out of heaven;
[25]
And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of
the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.
[26] But his wife
looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
[27] And Abraham got up early in the morning to the place where he stood before Yehovah:
[28] And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of
the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke
of a furnace.
[29] And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered
Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which
Lot dwelt.
Gen.21
[17] And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, what ails you, Hagar? Fear not; for God had heard the voice of the lad where he is.
[18] Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in your hand; for
I will make him a great nation.
[19] And God opened her eyes,
and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water,
and gave the lad drink.
[20] And God was with the lad; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness,
and became an archer.
[21] And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran:
and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.
Gen.22[11] And the angel of Yehovah called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.
[12] And he said, Lay not your
hand upon the lad, neither do you anything unto him: for now I know that you
fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son from me.
[13] And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a
ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and
offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.
[14] And Abraham called the name of that place Yehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day, In
the mount of Yehovah it shall be seen.
יְהוָה
יִרְאֶה Yehovah yireh
{yeh-ho-vaw' yir-eh'}
Meaning: Yehovah-jireh = "Yehovah
sees"
[15] And the angel of Yehovah
called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,
[16] And said, By myself have I sworn, said Yehovah,
for because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only
son:
[17] That in blessing I will
bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of the
heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and your seed shall
possess the gate of his enemies;
[18] And in your seed shall
all the nations of the earth be blessed;
because you have obeyed my voice.
Gen.24
[7] Yehovah God of heaven, which took me from my
father's house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spoke unto me, and
that swore unto me, saying, Unto your seed will I give this land; he shall send his angel before you, and you shall take a wife unto my
son from thence.
Gen.28
[12] And he dreamed, and behold
a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold
the angels of God
ascending and descending on it.
[13] And, behold, Yehovah stood above it, and said, I am Yehovah God
of Abraham your father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon you liest,
to you will I give it, and to your seed;
[14] And your seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and you shall
spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south:
and in you and in your seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
[15] And, behold, I am with you, and will keep you in all places whither
you goest,
and will bring you again into this land; for I will not leave you, until I have
done that which I have spoken to you of.
Gen.31
[11] And the angel of God spoke unto me in
a dream, saying, Jacob: And I said, Here am I.
[12] And he said, Lift up now your eyes, and see, all the
rams which leap upon the cattle are ringstraked,
speckled, and grisled: for I have seen all that Laban
doeth unto you.
[13] I am the God of Bethel,
where you anointed the pillar, and where you vowed a vow unto me: now arise,
get you out from this land, and return unto the land of your kindred.
Gen.48
[16] The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be
named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham
and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.
Exod.3
[2] And the angel of Yehovah appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush:
and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire,
and the bush was not consumed.
[3] And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this
great sight, why the bush is not burnt.
[4] And when Yehovah
saw that he turned aside to see, God
called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And
he said, Here am I.
[5] And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off your shoes from off your
feet, for the place where on you stand is holy ground.
[6] Moreover he said,
I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God
of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.
Exod.14
[19] And the angel of God, which went
before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the
cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:
[20] And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the
camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by
night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.
[21] And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and Yehovah caused the sea to go back by a strong
east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were
divided.
Exod.23 [20] Behold, I send an Angel before you,
to keep you in the way, and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.
[21] Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him.
[22] But if you shall indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak;
then I will be an enemy unto your enemies, and an adversary unto your
adversaries.
[23] For mine Angel
shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites,
and the Perizzites,
and the Canaanites, and the Hivites, and
the Jebusites:
and I will cut them off.
[24] You shall not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after
their works: but you shall utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their
images.
Exod.32 [34] Therefore now
go, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto you: behold,
mine Angel shall go before you: nevertheless in the day when I
visit I will visit their sin upon them.
Exod.33 [1] And Yehovah said unto Moses, Depart, and go up hence, you and the people which you have brought up out of the land of Egypt, unto the land which I swore unto Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, Unto your seed will I give it:
[2] And I will send
an angel before you;
and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite,
the Hivite,
and the Jebusite:
Num.20
[16] And when we cried unto Yehovah,
he heard our voice, and sent an angel, and had brought us forth out
of Egypt: and, behold, we are in Kadesh, a city
in the uttermost of your border:
Num.22
[22] And God's anger was kindled because he went: and the angel of
Yehovah
stood in the way for an adversary against him. Now he was riding upon his ass,
and his two servants were with him.
[23] And the ass saw the angel of Yehovah
standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and the ass turned aside
out of the way, and went into the field: and Balaam smote the ass, to turn her
into the way.
[24] But the angel of Yehovah
stood in a path of the vineyards, a wall being on this side, and a wall on that
side.
[25] And when the ass saw the angel of Yehovah,
she thrust herself unto the wall, and crushed Balaam's foot against the wall:
and he smote her again.
[26] And the angel of Yehovah
went further, and stood in a narrow place, where was no way to turn either to
the right hand or to the left.
[27] And when the ass saw the angel of Yehovah,
she fell down under Balaam: and Balaam's anger was kindled, and he smote the
ass with a staff.
[28] And Yehovah
opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto
you, that you have smitten me these three times?
[29] And Balaam said unto the ass, Because
you have mocked me: I would there were a sword in mine hand, for now would I
kill you.
[30] And the ass said unto Balaam, Am not I your ass, upon which you
have ridden ever since I was your unto this day? Was I ever wont to do so unto
you? And he said, Nay.
[31] Then Yehovah opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of Yehovah
standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his
head, and fell flat on his face.
[32] And the angel of Yehovah
said unto him, Wherefore have you smitten your
ass these three times? behold, I went
out to withstand you, because your way is perverse before me:
[33] And the ass saw me, and turned from me these three times: unless
she had turned from me, surely now also I had slain you, and saved her alive.
[34] And Balaam said unto the angel
of Yehovah,
I have sinned; for I knew not that you stood in the way against me: now
therefore, if it displease you, I will get me back
again.
[35] And the angel
of Yehovah
said unto Balaam, Go with the men: but
only the word that I shall speak unto you, that you
shall speak. So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.
Angels
do amazing things:
Pss.8
1] O Yehovah
our Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth! who
hast set your glory above the heavens.
[2] Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings
have you ordained strength because of your enemies, that you might still the
enemy and the avenger.
[3] When I consider your heavens, the work of your
fingers, the moon and the stars, which you hast ordained;
[4] What is man, that you art
mindful of him? and the son of man, that you visit
him?
[5] For You, Father have
made Him, Messiah a little lower than the angels, and have crowned him, Messiah
with glory and honor.
[6] You, Father made Him, Messiah to have dominion
over the works of Your hands; You, Father have put all things under his,
Messiah feet:
[7] All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the
field;
[8] The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea,
and whatsoever passes through the paths of the seas.
[9] O Yehovah
our Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth!
Pss.34
[7] The angel of Yehovah
encamps round about them that fear him, and delivers them.
Pss.35
[5] Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of
Yehovah
chase them.
[6] Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of
Yehovah
persecute them.
Pss.68
[17] The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even
thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the
holy place.
Pss.78
[49] He cast
upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by
sending evil angels among them.
Pss.91
[11] For He, the Father shall give his angels charge over You His Word, to keep you
in all your ways.
Pss.103
[20] Bless Yehovah, you
his angels, that excel in strength, that do his
commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.
Pss.104
[1] Bless Yehovah, O my soul. O Yehovah
my God, You are very great; you are clothed with honor and majesty.
[2] Who covers yourself with light as with a
garment: who stretches out the heavens like a curtain:
[3] Who lays
the beams of his chambers in the waters: who makes the clouds his chariot: who
walks upon the wings of the wind:
[4] Who makes
his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:
[5] Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it
should not be removed for ever.
Pss.148
[2] Praise Him, all his angels: praise him, all His hosts.
