Today we use the Gregorian calendar (From Pope Gregory, from the
1500's)
Today is Feb. 8, 2025
February -- month of Februa
Middle English Februarius
Latin Februarius "of Februa"
Latin Februa(s) "Februa" + -arius "ary (pertaining to)"
Latin Februarius mensis "month
of Februa"
Latin dies februatus "day of
purification"
Februarius had
28 days, until circa 450 BC when it had 23 or 24 days on some of every
second year, until Julius when it had 29 days on every fourth year
and 28 days otherwise.
Februa
is the Roman festival of purification, held on February fifteenth.
It is possibly of Sabine origin.
lol, so what is the real date?
Yehovah has His own calendar:
We are now in the 11th month, Sebat, day 9
Zech.1 [7] Upon the four and twentieth day of the eleventh
month, which is the month Sebat / Sh’vat שְׁבָט

Today’s Topic
Babel or Babylon
Confusion
בָּבֶל Babel {baw-bel'}
Meaning: Babel or Babylon = "confusion (by
mixing)"
1) Babel or
Babylon, the ancient site and/or capital of Babylonia (modern
Hillah, a city in Iraq)
situated on the Euphrates
Usage: AV - Babylon 257,
Babylonian + 01121 3, Babel 2; 262 times
Gen.10 [1] Now these are the generations
of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after
the flood.
[2] The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech,
and Tiras.
[3] And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz,
and Riphath, and Togarmah.
[4] And the sons of Javan; Elishah,
and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.
[5] By these were the isles of the Gentiles / nations divided in their
lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.
[6] And the sons
of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.
[7] And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtecha: and the
sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.
[8] And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a
mighty one in the earth.
[9] He was a mighty hunter before Yehovah:
wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the
mighty hunter before Yehovah.
[10] And the
beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech,
and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
[11] Out of that land
went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah,
[12] And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the
same is a great city.
[13] And Mizraim begat Ludim,
and Anamim, and Lehabim,
and Naphtuhim,
[14] And Pathrusim, and Casluhim,
(out of whom came Philistim,) and Caphtorim.
[15] And Canaan begat
Sidon his firstborn, and Heth,
[16] And the Jebusite,
and the Amorite, and the Girgasite,
[17] And the Hivite, and the Arkite,
and the Sinite,
[18] And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite,
and the Hamathite: and afterward were the
families of the Canaanites spread
abroad.
[19] And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as you comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as you
goest, unto Sodom,
and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim,
even unto Lasha.
[20] These
are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries,
and in their nations.
Gen.11
[1] And the whole earth was of one language, and of
one speech.
[2] And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they
found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.
[3] And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn
them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and
slime had they for morter.
[4] And they said, Go to, let us
build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us
make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
[5] And Yehovah came down to see the city and the tower, which the
children of men builded.
[6] And Yehovah said, Behold, the people is
one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing
will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
[7] Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's
speech.
[8] So Yehovah scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and
they left off to build the city.
[9] Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because Yehovah did there confound the language of all the
earth: and from thence did Yehovah scatter them
abroad upon the face of all the earth.
Same
words: Babylon is fallen, is
fallen
Isa.21
[9] And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a
couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he had
broken unto the ground.
Queen of Heaven (not) L
she said in her heart, I sit a queen (not) L
Jer.7
[17] See you not what they do in the cities of
Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
[18] The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the
fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes
to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other
gods, that they may provoke me to anger.
[19] Do they provoke me to anger? said Yehovah: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of
their own faces?
[20] Therefore thus said the Lord Yehovah;
Behold, mine anger and my fury shall be poured out upon this place, upon man,
and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the
ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched.
Jer.44
[14] So that none of the
remnant of Judah, which are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall
escape or remain, that they should return into the land of Judah, to the which
they have a desire to return to dwell there: for none shall return but such as
shall escape.
[15] Then all the men which knew that their wives had burned incense
unto other gods, and all the women that stood by, a great multitude, even all
the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros,
answered Jeremiah, saying,
[16] As for the word that you hast spoken unto us in the name of Yehovah, we
will not hearken unto you.
[17] But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as
we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of
Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and
were well, and saw no evil.
[18] But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we
have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.
[19] And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did
we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her,
without our men?
[24] Moreover Jeremiah said unto all the people, and
to all the women, Hear the word of Yehovah, all Judah
that are in the land of Egypt:
[25] Thus said Yehovah of hosts,
the God of Israel, saying; You and your wives have both spoken with your
mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows
that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: you
will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.
[26] Therefore hear you
the word of Yehovah, all Judah that dwell in the land
of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn by my great name, said Yehovah,
that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the
land of Egypt, saying, The Lord Yehovah liveth.
[27] Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all
the men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword
and by the famine, until there be an end of them.
[28] Yet a small number that escape the sword shall return out of the
land of Egypt into the land of Judah, and all the remnant of Judah, that are
gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall know whose words shall
stand, mine, or theirs.
[29] And this shall be a sign unto you, said Yehovah,
that I will punish you in this place, that you may
know that my words shall surely stand against you for evil:
[30] Thus said Yehovah;
Behold, I will give Pharaoh-hophra king of Egypt into
the hand of his enemies, and into the hand of them that seek his life; as I
gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar
king of Babylon, his enemy, and that sought his life.
Rev.14
[8] And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is
fallen, that great city, because
she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication
[9] And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man
worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in
his hand,
[10] The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is
poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be
tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in
the presence of the Lamb:
[11] And the smoke of their torment ascendeth
up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor
night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth
the mark of his name.
[12] Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the
commandments of God, and the faith of Yeshua.
[13] And I heard a
voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, said the Spirit,
that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them.
[14] And I looked, and behold a
white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his
head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.
[15] And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to
him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap:
for the time is come for you to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.
[16] And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and
the earth was reaped.
[17] And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also
having a sharp sickle.
[18] And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire;
and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the
vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.
[19] And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the
vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.
[20] And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out
of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and
six hundred furlongs.
Rev.17
[1]
And there came one of the seven angels
which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I
will shew unto you the judgment of the great whore that sits upon many waters:
[2] With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the
inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
[3]
So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full
of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
[4] And the woman was arrayed
in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold
and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of
abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
[5] And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE
GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
[6]
And I saw the woman drunken with the
blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Yeshua:
and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
[7]
And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst you
marvel? I will tell you the mystery of
the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which
hath the seven heads and ten horns.
[8]
The beast that you sawest was, and is not; and shall
ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on
the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from
the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not,
and yet is.
[9] And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven
mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
[10] And there are
seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and
when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
[11]
And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven,
and goeth into perdition.
[12] And the ten horns which you saw are ten kings, which have received
no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
[13] These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto
the beast.
[14]
These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is
Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and
chosen, and faithful.
[15]
And he said unto me, The waters which you sawest, where the whore sitteth,
are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
[16]
And the ten horns which you sawest upon the beast,
these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall
eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
[17] For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil
his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words
of God shall be fulfilled.
[18] And the woman which you saw is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
Rev.18
[1] And after these
things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the
earth was lightened with his glory.
[2] And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is
fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every
foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
[3] For all nations have drunk of
the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have
committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich
through the abundance of her delicacies.
[4] And I heard another voice from
heaven, saying, Come out of her, my
people, that you be not partakers of her sins, and that you receive not of
her plagues.
[5] For her sins have reached
unto heaven, and God had remembered
her iniquities.
[6] Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double
according to her works: in the cup which she had filled fill to her double.
[7] How much she had glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much
torment and sorrow give her: for she said in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
[8] Therefore shall her plagues come
in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned
with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth
her.
[9] And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived
deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see
the smoke of her burning,
[10] Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas,
that great city Babylon, that mighty
city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
[11] And the merchants of the earth
shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth
their merchandise any more:
[12] The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of
pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all
manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
[13] And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments,
and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and
sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.
[14] And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from you,
and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from you, and you shalt find them no more at all.
[15] The merchants of these things,
which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment,
weeping and wailing,[16] And saying, Alas,
alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet,
and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!
[17] For in one hour so great riches is come to nought.
And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as
trade by sea, stood afar off,
[18] And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city
is like unto this great city!
[19] And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing,
saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships
in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one
hour is she made desolate.
[20] Rejoice over her, you heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets; for
God had avenged you on her.
[21] And a mighty angel took up a
stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down,
and shall be found no more at all.
[22] And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and
trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in you; and no craftsman, of
whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in you; and the sound of a
millstone shall be heard no more at all in you;
[23] And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in you; and
the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in you:
for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were
all nations deceived.
[24]
And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were
slain upon the earth.
In closing for now:
May God bless you and help
us all…
