שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם

Today we are still using the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s which he introduced it as a modification of, and replacement for the Julian calendar.

Today is August 24, 2024

August - Augustus Caesar's month

Augustus Caesar clarified and completed the calendar reform of Julius Caesar. In the process, he also renamed this month after himself.

Latin sextilis mensis "sixth month"  -  today the 8th month

Sextilis had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius,
100 BC - when it became 31 days long.

30, 29, 31 days L  so what’s the actual date?

The Julian calendar was proposed in 46 BC to the Gregorian calendar in 1582, which we are still using today in the 21 century, which is approx. 6 centuries later. L

When we looked up the names of the months in the calendar we use today, they said all the names they use come from false gods or they named the month after themselves.

We acknowledge Yehovah’s calendar:

We are now in the 5th month of God. This 5th month has no scriptural name, day 19

Av is not the name of the 5th month as Judaism and some Messianics state which is made up.

Remember:

Deut.4 [2] You shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall you diminish ought from it, that you may keep the commandments of Yehovah your God which I command you.

Deut.12 [32] What thing whatsoever I command you, observe to do it: you shall not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

Today’s topic:

Basics of scripture

Be Holy:

Lev.19 [1] And Yehovah spoke unto Moses, saying,
[
2] Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, You shall be holy: for I Yehovah your God am holy.

Lev.20 [7] Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am Yehovah your God.

1Pet.1 [15] But as he which had called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; [16] Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Conversation - ναστροφ anastrophe {an-as-trof-ay'}

Meaning:  1) manner of life, conduct, behavior…

God starts his days in the evening as stated below:

Gen.1

And the evening and the morning were the first day.

And the evening and the morning were the second day.

And the evening and the morning were the third day.

And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

The creation of the Sabbath, the 4th commandment

Gen.2 [2] And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made;

and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

[3] And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

There are 12 hours of day and 12 hours of night

Here are the 10 commandments:

Exod.20

1st commandment

[1] And God spoke all these words, saying,
[2] I am Yehovah your God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

[3] You shall have no other gods before me.

2nd commandment

[4] You shall not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
[5] You shall not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I Yehovah your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
[6] And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

3rd commandment

[7] You shall not take the name of Yehovah your God in vain; for Yehovah will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

4th commandment

[8] Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
[9] Six days shall you labor, and do all your work:
[10] But the seventh day is the sabbath of Yehovah your God: in it you shall not do any work, thou, nor your son, nor your daughter, your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger that is within your gates:
[11] For in six days Yehovah made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Yehovah blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

5th commandment

[12] Honor your father and your mother: that your days may be long upon the land which Yehovah your God gives thee.

6th commandment

[13] You shall not kill.

7th commandment

[14] You shall not commit adultery.

8th commandment

[15] You shall not steal.

9th commandment

[16] You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

10th commandment

[17] You shall not covet your neighbor’s house, you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is your neighbor’s.

Lev.23 [32] … from even unto even, shall you celebrate your sabbath.

The 10 commandments are also in Deut. 5 which was 40 years after they were first given.

I suggest you start with the first 10 commandment. You are either doing them or not.

Deut.8 [2] …you shall remember all the way which Yehovah your God led you these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and to prove you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments, or no

60 matches for the word “Sabbath” in the Gospels and letters

Luke 23 [56] And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment. The 4th commandment above

John said:

1 John 3 [4] Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

1 John 3 [8] He that commits sin is of the devil, for the devil sins from the beginning.

How much sin is going the heaven? = 0  Which commandments can you break = 0

The New Year we inherited is in the dead of winter. - Frozen, dead…

God's New Year starts in Spring, March / April at Passover

Spring, warm, when many things come back to life

Read Exod.12 - [1] And Yehovah spoke unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,
[
2] This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.

As you read this information pertaining to God’s calendar below, please notice how Judaism and some Messianics changed or made up some names that are not in the scriptures.

For God’s calendar, don’t use any other calendar. There is only one calendar in the bible.
