Today
we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s.
Today
is Oct. 19th 2013
October -- the
eighth month
Middle English octobre
Latin October
Latin octo
"eight" + -ber (adj. suffix)
Latin october mensis "eighth month"
October has always had 31 days.
Crazy, today it is the 10th month but
means 8
------------------
Yehovah
has His own calendar
We are now
in the 8th month -
the month Bul, 13th day
The 8th month called Bul (pronounced Bool, "rain")
1 Kgs.6 [38] And in the eleventh year, in
the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all the parts
thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in
building it.
(Part of
October & November)
Judaism calls this month Cheshvan or Marheshvan. This is not in the
Hebrew Scriptures.

Today's Topic:
Bible facts
Many of the
terms below are from the net
I added all the correct verses
Part One
1Chr.16 [26] For all the gods of the people are idols: but Yehovah made
the heavens.
------------
In
the past, one silly belief was the earth sat on the back of an elephant or
turtle, or was held up by Atlas.
The earth is hanging on nothing, as the Bible states:
Creation
is made of particles, indiscernible to our eyes. Not until the 19th century was
it discovered that all visible matter consists of invisible elements.
The
Bible specifies the perfect dimensions for a stable water vessel. Ship builders
today are well aware that the ideal dimension for ship stability is a length
six times that of the width. Keep in mind, God told Noah the ideal dimensions
for the ark 4,500 years ago.
[14] Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and
shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
[15] And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark
shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height
of it thirty cubits.
When
dealing with disease, clothes and body should be washed under running water
Leviticus 15:13[13] And when he that hath an issue is cleansed of
his issue; then he shall number to himself seven days for his cleansing, and
wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in running water, and shall be clean..
For
centuries people naively washed in standing water. Today we recognize the need
to wash away germs with fresh water.
Some
3,500 years ago God commanded His people to have a place outside the camp where
they could relieve themselves. They were to each carry a shovel so that they
could dig a hole (latrine) and cover their waste.
Up
until World War I, more soldiers died from disease than war because they did
not isolate human waste.
Deuteronomy 23:12 Thou shalt have a place also without the camp,
whither thou shalt go forth abroad:
[13] And thou shalt have a paddle upon thy weapon; and it shall be, when thou
wilt ease thyself abroad, thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt turn back and
cover that which cometh from thee:
[14] For Yehovah thy God walketh in the midst of thy
camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore
shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away
from thee.
Job
38: [16]
Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast
thou walked in the search of the depth?
Oceans contain springs
The
ocean is very deep. Almost all the ocean floor is in total darkness and the
pressure there is enormous.
It
would have been impossible for Job to have explored the "springs of the
sea."
Until
recently, it was thought that oceans were fed only by rivers and rain. Yet in
the 1970s, with the help of deep diving research submarines that were constructed
to withstand 6,000 pounds-per-square-inch pressure, oceanographers discovered
springs on the ocean floors!
There
are mountains on the bottom of the ocean floor. Only in the last century have
we discovered that there are towering mountains and deep trenches in the depths
of the sea.
Jonah 2: [5] The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the
depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped
about my head.
[6] I went down to the bottoms of the mountains;
the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet
hast thou brought up my life from corruption, Yehovah my God.
Foot prints
Job.13[27] Thou puttest my feet also in the stocks, and lookest
narrowly unto all my paths; thou settest a print upon
the heels of my feet.
-----------------------
The Earth is flat? What is the Shape of the Earth? Circle
Isa.40 [22] It is he that sitteth
upon the circle of the earth, and the
inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth
out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out
as a tent to dwell in:
Prov.8 [27] When he prepared the heavens, I
was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the
depth:
---------------------------------
The Second Law of Thermodynamics -
Entropy – To decay towards a lack of pattern or
organization; disorder - decline and degeneration.
Everything runs downs, wears out, dies
Job.14[8] Though the root
thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;
Pss.102[26] They shall perish,
but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a
vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:
Isa.50[9] Behold, Yehovah
GOD will help me; who is he that shall condemn me? lo,
they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up.
Isa.51[6] Lift up your eyes
to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish
away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that
dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.
-----------------------
Paths in the oceans
Pss.8[8] The fowl of the
air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth
through the paths of the seas.
------------------------------
The First Law of Thermodynamics established. The First Law states
that the total quantity of energy and matter in the universe is a constant.
One
form of energy or matter may be converted into another, but the total quantity
always remains the same. Therefore the creation is finished, exactly as God
said way back in Genesis.
Jer.10[12] He hath made the
earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath
stretched out the heavens by his discretion.
Blood
is the source of life and health. Up until 120 years ago, sick people were
“bled” and many died as a result (e.g. George Washington). Today we know that
healthy blood is necessary to bring life-giving nutrients to every cell in the
body. God declared that “the life of the flesh is in the blood” long before
science understood its function.
Leviticus
17: [11] For the life of the flesh is in
the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for
your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an
atonement for the soul.
[14]
For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof:
Evolution – transmutations, is a lie
The
Bible states that God created life according to kinds. The fact that God distinguishes
kinds, agrees with what scientists observe – namely that there are horizontal
genetic boundaries beyond which life cannot vary. Life produces after its own
kind. Dogs produce dogs, cats produce cats, and roses produce roses. Never have
we witnessed one kind changing into another kind as evolution supposes. There
are truly natural limits to biological change.
Gen.
1: [24]
And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living
creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth
after his kind: and it was so.
[25] And God made the beast of the earth after his kind,
and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it
was good.
Remember: There are 6 kinds of Evolution, 5 are
wrong.
The Wrong ones:
Cosmic Evolution: The Big Bang.
This part of evolution has gone through quite an evolution by itself. From an
area of several light years in size, to smaller than the diameter of a proton,
to nothing at all, and yet it exploded, and this is
where all matter came from. Since none of this has been proven, it is just a
theory.
Chemical Evolution: All primary
elements evolved from Hydrogen. This type of evolution tries to explain where
all of the 115 or so primary elements came from. It is thought (theory again)
that all the elements “evolved” from hydrogen, which was created in the Big
Bang. Again, there is no scientific proof of this.
Stellar and Planetary Evolution: This theory tries to explain how the planets and stars formed from
the primary elements created in chemical evolution. We have never seen stars
and planets form; only die. It has been speculated that if twenty stars
exploded, the matter ejected might create one star. This is still not
evolution, because you had to loose twenty stars to
gain one.
Organic Evolution: The origin of
life. Organic evolution tries to explain the circumstances that may have
produced an environment where “simple” life forms may have developed. An
interesting thing to mention here is that science has yet to find a “simple”
life form. Some of the “simplest” forms that science says they found are
incredibly complex engineering wonders that man cannot even begin to
understand, let alone replicate.
Macro Evolution: One animal changes
to a different kind of animal, like a dog evolving into a non-dog. This has
never been seen, and there is no evidence in the fossil record as well.
Right one explained:
Micro Evolution: A better name would be variations,
this happens all the time, like a Chihuahua and a Great Dane. There are
different breeds of dog, but they are still dogs. Although making it a kind of
“evolution” is not really a correct designation, we seem to be stuck with it.
It does happen and is observable; this is the only type of evolution that works.
Scientists observe that life only
comes from existing life.
This law has never been violated under
observation or experimentation (as
evolution imagines).
The
Bible and history reveal that countless people have endangered or even
sacrificed their lives for another. This reality is completely at odds with Darwin’s theory of the survival of the fittest.
John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that
a man lay down his life for his friends.
Romans 5:7 [7] For scarcely for a
righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even
dare to die.
[8] But God commendeth his love toward us, in that,
while we were yet sinners, Messiah died for us.
And many other verses
Chicken or egg dilemma solved
Which
came first, the chicken or the egg? This question has plagued philosophers for
centuries. The Bible states that God created birds with the ability to
reproduce after their kind. Therefore the chicken was created first with the
ability to make eggs! Yet, evolution has no solution for this dilemma.
Genesis 1: [20] And God said, Let the
waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that
may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
[21] And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after
their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
[22] And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and
multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
Which came first, proteins or DNA?
For
evolutionists, the chicken or egg dilemma goes even deeper. Chickens consist of
proteins. The code for each protein is contained in the DNA/RNA system.
However,
proteins are required in order to manufacture DNA. So which came first:
proteins or DNA?
The ONLY explanation is that they were created together.
Revelation 4: [11] Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for
thy pleasure they are and were created.
Our bodies are made from the dust of the ground.
Scientists
have discovered that the human body is comprised of some 28 base and trace
elements – all of which are found in the earth.
Gen.2: [7] And Yehovah God formed man of the dust of the ground, and
breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
The first three verses of Genesis accurately express all known
aspects of the creation.
Science
expresses the universe in terms of: time, space, matter, and energy
In
Genesis chapter 1, we read: “In the beginning (time)
God created the heavens (space) and the earth (matter)…Then God said, “Let
there be light (energy).” No other creation account agrees with the observable
evidence.
The universe had a beginning
Starting
with the studies of Albert Einstein in the early 1900s and continuing today,
science has confirmed the biblical view that the universe had a beginning.
By the way, the Big Bang theory is a big lie!
When
the Bible was written most people believed the universe was eternal. Science
has proven them wrong, but the Bible correct.
again
Scripture assumes a revolving (spherical) earth.
In
the book of Genesis it states God created the seasons, which shows a revolving
earth around the sun.
This
is also displayed in many other verses in the Bible.
Origin of the rainbow explained
Gen.9:[12] And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make
between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual
generations:
[13] I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant
between me and the earth.
[14] And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the
bow shall be seen in the cloud:
[15] And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every
living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to
destroy all flesh.
[16] And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may
remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all
flesh that is upon the earth.
Prior
to the Flood there was a different environment on the earth (Genesis 2:5-6).
After the Flood, God set His rainbow “in the cloud” as a sign that He would
never again judge the earth by water. Meteorologists now understand that a
rainbow is formed when the sun shines through water droplets – which act as a
prism – separating white light into its color spectrum.
Light can be divided, as you see above.
Sir
Isaac Newton studied light and discovered that white light is made of seven
colors, which can be “parted” and then recombined. Science confirmed this four
centuries ago – God declared this four millennia ago!
Job 38: [24] By what way is the light parted,
which scattereth the east wind upon the earth?
Ocean currents anticipated
Psalm
8 [8]
The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and
whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
Three thousand years ago
the Bible described the “paths of the seas.” In the 19th century Matthew Maury
– the father of oceanography – after reading Psalm 8, researched and discovered
ocean currents that follow specific paths through the seas! Utilizing Maury’s data, marine navigators have since reduced by many
days the time required to traverse the seas.
Rejecting the Creator results in moral depravity
Romans
1:20-32 below.
The Bible warns that when mankind rejects the overwhelming evidence for a
Creator, lawlessness will result. Since the theory of evolution has swept the
globe, abortion, pornography, genocide, etc., have all risen sharply.
Sexual promiscuity is
dangerous to your health and is a sin before God.
The Bible warns that “he who commits sexual
immorality sins against his own body,” and that those who commit homosexual sin
would “receive in themselves” the penalty of their error. Much data now
confirms that any sexual relationship outside of holy matrimony is unsafe. (And
spiritually deadly)
Rom.1[21] Because that, when they knew God, they glorified
him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations,
and their foolish heart was darkened.
[22] Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
[23] And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God
into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
[24] Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their
own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between
themselves:
[25] Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the
creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever.
Amen.
[26] For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women
did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
[27] And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in
their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and
receiving in themselves that recompence of their
error which was meet.
[28] And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave
them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
[29] Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness,
covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity;
whisperers,
[30] Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil
things, disobedient to parents,
[31] Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without
natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
[32] Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are
worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
Reproduction explained. While evolution has no mechanism to explain how
male and female reproductive organs evolved at the same time, the Bible says
that from the beginning God made them male and female in order to propagate the
human race and animal kinds.
Gen.1[27] So God created man in
his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he
them.
Mark 10: [6] But from the beginning of the creation God made them male
and female.
[7] For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his
wife;
[8] And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one
flesh.
There are a incalculable number of stars.
At
a time when less than 5,000 stars were visible to the human eye, God stated
that the stars of heaven were innumerable. Not until the 17th century did Galileo
glimpse the immensity of our universe with his new telescope. Today,
astronomers estimate that there are ten thousand billion trillion stars –
that’s a 1 followed by 25 zeros! Yet, as the Bible states, scientists admit
this number may be woefully inadequate.
Jeremiah 33: [22] As the host of heaven
cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I
multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.
The
Bible compares the number of stars with the number of grains of sand on the
seashore amazingly; gross estimates of the number of sand grains are comparable
to the estimated number of stars in the universe.
Genesis 22: [17] That in blessing I will bless
thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as
the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and
thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
God always makes a distinction between stars and our sun
There are many other verses to substantiate this.
The
number of stars, though vast, are finite. (Isaiah 40:26 above). Although
man is unable to calculate the exact number of stars, we now know their number
is finite. Of course God knew this all along – “He counts the number of the
stars; He calls them all by name”
Psalm 147: [4] He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth
them all by their names..
What an
awesome God!
The fact that God once flooded the earth would be denied
2 Peter 3:[5] For this they willingly are ignorant of, that
by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the
water and in the water:
[6] Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
There
is a mass of fossil evidence to prove this fact, yet it is flatly ignored by
most of the scientific world because it was God’s judgment on man’s wickedness.
Vast fossil deposits anticipated read all of Gen. 7
When
plants and animals die they decompose rapidly. Yet billions of life forms
around the globe have been preserved as fossils. (Oil)
Geologists
now know that fossils only form if there is rapid deposition of life buried
away from scavengers and bacteria. This agrees exactly with what the Bible says
occurred during the global Flood.
Heavens and the earth, the world
Pss.115[16] The heaven, even
the heavens, are the Yehovah’s:
but the earth hath he given to the children of men.
Isa.45[18] For thus saith Yehovah that created the
heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made
it;
God - he hath established it (the earth),
he created it not in vain, he formed it (the earth),to
be inhabited:
I am Yehovah; and there is none
else.
Pss.19[1] The heavens declare the glory of God; and the
firmament sheweth his handywork.
Pss.33[8] Let all the earth
fear Yehovah: let all the inhabitants of the world
stand in awe of him.
[14] From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants
of the earth.
Pss.49[1] Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world:

Astronomy in the Bible
There are many mentions of the moon, the sun, and the stars
in the Bible
Orion - the Hunter, a constellation lying
on the celestial equator
between Canis Major
and Taurus,
containing the
bright stars
Betelgeuse and
Rigel.
Arcturus a first-magnitude
star in the
constellation Boötes.
Pleiades a conspicuous group or cluster of stars in
the constellation
Taurus, commonly
spoken of
as seven, though only six are visible.
Mazzaroth
מזּרה מַזָּרוֹת – a constellations or some
of the constellations
2Kgs.23[5]
And he put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to
burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah, and in the places round
about Jerusalem; them also that burned incense unto Baal,
to the sun,
and to the moon, and to the planets,
(constellations) and to all the host of heaven.

Heb.1 - [1] God, who at sundry times and in divers
manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
[2] Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son,
whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
[3] Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person,
and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself
purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
[4] Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance
obtained a more excellent name than they.
Heb.11 - [1] Now faith is the substance of things
hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
[2] For by it the elders obtained a good report.
[3] Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which
are seen were not made of things which do appear.
so that things which are seen

Rom.1 [20] For the
invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are
made, even his eternal power and Godhead;
Eph.6[12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers, against the
rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Col. 1[15] Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
[16] For by him were all things created,
that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and
invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers:
all things were created by him, and for him:
[17] And he is before all things, and by him all things
consist.
[18] And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the
firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
[19] For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness
dwell;
[20] And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile
all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or
things in heaven.
Exod.20[4] Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven
image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth

The Universe
Gen.2[1] Thus the heavens
and the earth were finished, and all the host of
them.
Pss.33[6] By the word of Yehovah were the heavens made; and all
the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
Gen.7[19] And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the
earth; and all the high hills, that were under the
whole heaven, were covered.
Deut.2[25]
This day will I begin to put the dread of thee and the fear of thee upon the
nations that are under the whole heaven, who
shall hear report of thee, and shall tremble, and be in anguish because of thee.
Deut.4[19]
And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest
the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be
driven to worship them, and serve them, which Yehovah thy God hath divided unto
all nations under the whole heaven.
Job.28[24] For he looketh to
the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;
Job.37[3] He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the
ends of the earth.
Job.41[11] Who hath prevented me, that I should repay
him? whatsoever is under
the whole heaven is mine.
Dan.7[27]
And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the
people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and all dominions shall serve and obey him.
Dan.9[12] And he hath confirmed his words, which he
spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a
great evil: for under the whole heaven hath
not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem.
Pss.68[33] To him that rideth
upon the heavens of heavens, which were of old; lo, he doth send out his voice,
and that a mighty voice.
Pss.148[4] Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye
waters that be above the heavens.
Gen.2[1]
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
[4] These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that Yehovah God made the earth and the
heavens,
Deut.10[14] Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens
is Yehovah's thy God, the earth also, with all that
therein is.
[1] Then Yehovah
answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
[2] Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words
without knowledge?
[3] Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer
thou me.
[4] Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of
the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.
[5] Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest?
or who hath stretched the line upon it?
[6] Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or
who laid the corner stone thereof;
[7] When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for
joy?
[8] Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake
forth, as if it had issued out of the womb?
[9] When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it,
[10] And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors,
[11] And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy
proud waves be stayed?
[12] Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring
to know his place;
[13] That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be
shaken out of it?
[14] It is turned as clay to the seal; and they stand as a garment.
[15] And from the wicked their light is withholden,
and the high arm shall be broken.
[16] Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or
hast thou walked in the search of the depth?
[17] Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or
hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?
[18] Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare
if thou knowest it all.
[19] Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof,
[20] That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest
know the paths to the house thereof?
[21] Knowest thou it, because thou wast then born? or because the
number of thy days is great?
[22] Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or
hast thou seen the treasures of the hail,
[23] Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of
battle and war?
[24] By what way is the light parted, which scattereth
the east wind upon the earth?
[25] Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for
the lightning of thunder;
[26] To cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness,
wherein there is no man;
[27] To satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the
tender herb to spring forth?
[28] Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the
drops of dew?
[29] Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary
frost of heaven, who hath gendered it?
[30] The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.
[31] Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose
the bands of Orion?
[32] Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with
his sons?
[33] Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?
[34] Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may
cover thee?
[35] Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go, and say unto thee, Here we are?
[36] Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who
hath given understanding to the heart?
[37] Who can number the clouds in wisdom? or who can
stay the bottles of heaven,
[38] When the dust groweth into hardness, and the
clods cleave fast together?
[39] Wilt thou hunt the prey for the lion? or fill the
appetite of the young lions,
[40] When they couch in their dens, and abide in the covert to lie in wait?
[41] Who provideth for the raven his food? when his young ones cry unto God, they wander for lack of
meat.
[1] Knowest
thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? or
canst thou mark when the hinds do calve?
[2] Canst thou number the months that they fulfil? or knowest thou the time when they
bring forth?
[3] They bow themselves, they bring forth their young ones, they
cast out their sorrows.
[4] Their young ones are in good liking, they grow up with corn; they go forth,
and return not unto them.
[5] Who hath sent out the wild ass free? or who hath
loosed the bands of the wild ass?
[6] Whose house I have made the wilderness, and the
barren land his dwellings.
[7] He scorneth the multitude of the city, neither regardeth he the crying of the driver.
[8] The range of the mountains is his pasture, and he searcheth after every
green thing.
[9] Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?
[10] Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?
[11] Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or
wilt thou leave thy labour to him?
[12] Wilt thou believe him, that he will bring home
thy seed, and gather it into thy barn?
[13] Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich?
[14] Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in dust,
[15] And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or
that the wild beast may break them.
[16] She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not hers: her labour is in vain without fear;
[17] Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her
understanding.
[18] What time she lifteth up herself on high, she scorneth the horse and his rider.
[19] Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou
clothed his neck with thunder?
[20] Canst thou make him afraid as a grasshopper? the
glory of his nostrils is terrible.
[21] He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth
in his strength: he goeth on to meet the armed men.
[22] He mocketh at fear, and is not affrighted; neither
turneth he back from the
sword.
[23] The quiver rattleth against him, the glittering
spear and the shield.
[24] He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and
rage: neither believeth he that it is the sound of the trumpet.
[25] He saith among the trumpets, Ha, ha; and he smelleth
the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.
[26] Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south?
[27] Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high?
[28] She dwelleth and abideth
on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place.
[29] From thence she seeketh the prey, and her eyes
behold afar off.
[30] Her young ones also suck up blood: and where the slain are, there is she.
[1] Moreover Yehovah
answered Job, and said,
[2] Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty
instruct him? he that reproveth
God, let him answer it.
[3] Then Job answered Yehovah, and said,
[4] Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my
mouth.
[5] Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed
no further.
[6] Then answered Yehovah unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
[7] Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou
unto me.
[8] Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou
condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
[9] Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder
with a voice like him?
[10] Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and
array thyself with glory and beauty.
[11] Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and
abase him.
[12] Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the
wicked in their place.
[13] Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.
[14] Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save
thee.
[15] Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth
grass as an ox.
[16] Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his
belly.
[17] He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of
his stones are wrapped together.
[18] His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
[19] He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to
approach unto him.
[20] Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the
field play.
[21] He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of
the reed, and fens.
[22] The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook
compass him about.
[23] Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he
can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
[24] He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth
through snares.
[1]
Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest
down?
[2] Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn?
[3] Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he
speak soft words unto thee?
[4] Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take
him for a servant for ever?
[5] Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or wilt
thou bind him for thy maidens?
[6] Shall the companions make a banquet of him? shall
they part him among the merchants?
[7] Canst thou fill his skin with barbed iron? or his
head with fish spears?
[8] Lay thine hand upon him, remember the battle, do
no more.
[9] Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the
sight of him?
[10] None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before
me?
[11] Who hath prevented me, that I should repay him? whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine.
[12] I will not conceal his parts, nor his power, nor his
comely proportion.
[13] Who can discover the face of his garment? or who
can come to him with his double bridle?
[14] Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are
terrible round about.
[15] His scales are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal.
[16] One is so near to another, that no air can come
between them.
[17] They are joined one to another, they stick
together, that they cannot be sundered.
[18] By his neesings a light doth shine, and his eyes
are like the eyelids of the morning.
[19] Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out.
[20] Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a
seething pot or caldron.
[21] His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth.
[22] In his neck remaineth strength, and sorrow is
turned into joy before him.
[23] The flakes of his flesh are joined together: they are firm in themselves;
they cannot be moved.
[24] His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, as hard as a piece of the nether
millstone.
[25] When he raiseth up
himself, the mighty are afraid: by reason of breakings they purify themselves.
[26] The sword of him that layeth
at him cannot hold: the spear, the dart, nor the habergeon.
[27] He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten
wood.
[28] The arrow cannot make him flee: slingstones are
turned with him into stubble.
[29] Darts are counted as stubble: he laugheth at the
shaking of a spear.
[30] Sharp stones are under him: he spreadeth sharp
pointed things upon the mire.
[31] He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment.
[32] He maketh a path to shine after him; one would
think the deep to be hoary.
[33] Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear.
[34] He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over
all the children of pride.
