Shabbat Shalom

  שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם

Today is August 16, 2025

August - Augustus Caesar's month

Latin Augustus "Augustus"
Latin Augustus
mensis "month of Augustus"
Latin
sextilis mensis "sixth month" now the 8th month

Sextilis had 30 days, until Numa when it - had 29 days, until Julius when it became 31 days long.

Augustus Caesar clarified and completed the calendar reform of Julius Caesar. In the process, he also renamed this month after himself.

God’s calendar - We are now the fifth month of God, day 21 - which has no scriptural name

Av is Not in the bible - This is Not the name of the 5th month as Judaism states.

The Word of God - Torah, Prophets and Writings (psalms)

Ta Na Kk is an acronym for:

T = Torah (law, teachings) - first 5 books of Moses

N = Navieem or prophets (pl. sounds like - Na vi eem)

K = Ke'tuvim or writings (psalms etc.)

At this point, there were neither gospels nor letters.

A very short study today

Today’s topic:

envy, foolish, jealousy, angry

Foolish

Pss.5 [5] The foolish shall not stand in your sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

Prov.9 [6] Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.

Prov.10 [1] The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.

[14] Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.

Prov.12 [23] A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.

Prov.14 [1] Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.

[3] In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.

[7] Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.

[17] He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.

[24] The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.

Prov.15 [2] The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poures out foolishness.

[7] The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.

[14] The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.[20] A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.

Prov.17 [25] A foolish son is a grief to his father, and bitterness to her that bare him.

Prov.19[3] The foolishness of man perverts his way: and his heart fretteth against Yehovah.

[13] A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.

Prov.21[20] There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.

Prov.22[15] Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.

Prov.24[9] The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.

Prov.27 [22] Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar among wheat with a pestle, yet will not his foolishness depart from him.

Prov.29 [9] If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.

Prov.30[32] If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, lay thine hand upon your mouth.

Ecc.4[13] Better is a poor and a wise child than an old and foolish king, who will no more be admonished.

Ecc.10  [15] The labor of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city.

Pss.37 [1] Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. [2] For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

Pss.73 [3] For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

Pss.106 [16] They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the saint of Yehovah.

Prov.24 [1] Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them. [2] For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.

[19] Fret not yourself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked; [20] For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.

Ecc.4 [1] So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.
[2] Wherefore I praised the dead which are already dead more than the living which are yet alive.
[3] Yea, better is he than both they, which hath not yet been, who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.
[4] Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbor. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit.

Job 5 [2] For wrath killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the silly one.

Prov.3 [31] Envy not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways. [32] For the froward is abomination to Yehovah: but his secret is with the righteous.

Prov.14 [30] A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.

Prov.23 [17] Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of Yehovah all the day long.

Prov.27 [4] Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?

Ecc.9 [6] Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.

Get forgiveness

Matt.6

[9] After this manner therefore pray:

Our Father which is in heaven, Hallowed be your name.

[10] Your kingdom come. Your will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
[11] Give us this day our daily bread.

[12] And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

[13] And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

[14] For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

[15] But if you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Luke.11

[1] And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
[2] And he said unto them,

When ye pray, say, Our Father which is in heaven, Hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
[3] Give us day by day our daily bread.
[4] And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

1 John 1

[9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Eph.4

[32] And be kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Messiah's sake had forgiven you.

Heb.13

[16] But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

1 Tim. 6

[17] Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
[18] That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; [
19] Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

A reminder - Here are some things that are forgotten pertaining to our God:

In closing for now:

Make peace with your brothers and sisters and communicate with them or God will nor forgive you.
