Today is July 5, 2025
July -- Julius Caesar's month
Latin
Julius mensis "month of Julius"
Latin quintilis mensis "fifth month", now the 7 month
Julius Caesar reformed the Roman calendar (hence the Julian calendar) in 46 BC.
In the process, he renamed this month after
himself.
God’s calendar - We are now in the fourth
month of God which has no scriptural name - day 9
Today’s topic:
Few be saved
Are there few that be saved?
Luke
20] And
again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God?
[21] It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of
meal, till the whole was leavened.
[22] And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and
journeying toward Jerusalem.
[23] Then said one unto him,
Lord, are there few that be saved?
And he said unto them,
[24] Strive to enter
in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to
enter in, and shall not be able.
[25] When once the
master of the house is risen up, and had shut to the door, and you begin to
stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and
he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence you are:
[26] Then shall you begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy
presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.
[27] But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence you are; depart
from me, all you workers of iniquity.
[28] There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you shall see
Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and
you yourselves thrust out.[29] And they shall come from the east, and
from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in
the kingdom of God.
[30] And, behold, there
are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.
Matt.20
[1] For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an
householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his
vineyard.
[2] And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent
them into his vineyard.
[3] And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle
in the marketplace,
[4] And said unto them; Go you also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is
right I will give you. And they went their way.
[5] Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.
[6] And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing
idle, and saith unto them, Why stand you here all the day idle?
[7] They say unto him, Because no man had hired us. He saith unto them,
Go you also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall you receive.
[8] So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his
steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last
unto the first.
[9] And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they
received every man a penny.
[10] But when the first came, they supposed that they should have
received more; and they likewise received every man a penny.
[11] And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of
the house,
[12] Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made
them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.
[13] But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong:
didst not thou agree with me for a penny?
[14] Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last,
even as unto thee.
[15] Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine
eye evil, because I am good?
[16]
So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called,
but few chosen.
Matt.22
[1] And Jesus answered and spoke unto them again by
parables, and said,
[2] The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a
marriage for his son,
[3] And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the
wedding: and they would not come.
[4] Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are
bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed,
and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.
[5] But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm,
another to his merchandise:
[6] And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully,
and slew them.
[7] But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his
armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
[8] Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which
were bidden were not worthy.
[9] Go you therefore into the highways, and as many as you shall find,
bid to the marriage.
[10] So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together
all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was
furnished with guests.
[11] And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man
which had not on a wedding garment:
[12] And he saith unto him, Friend, how come you in hither not
having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.
[13] Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and
take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and
gnashing of teeth.[14]
For many are called, but few are chosen.
The
worldwide flood
Gen.6
[5]
And Yehovah saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and
that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
[6] And it repented Yehovah that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved
him at his heart.
[7] And Yehovah said, I will destroy man whom I have created
from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and
the fowls of the air; for it repents me that I have made them.
1 Pet.3
[18] For Messiah also had once suffered for (sinners) sins,
the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in
the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
[19] By which also he, Messiah went and preached unto the
spirits in prison; Hell [20] Which sometime
were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days
of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
A remnant
of jews
Rom.9 [27] Isa. also cries
concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand
of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:[28]
For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a
short work will the Lord make upon the earth.
Isa.10
[20] And it shall come to pass in that
day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of
the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but
shall stay upon Yehovah, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. [21] The remnant shall
return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God. [22]
For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of
them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness.
Rev. 7
[1] And after these
things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the
four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the
sea, nor on any tree.
[2] And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of
the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it
was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
[3] Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we
have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
[4] And I heard the
number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty
and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel. 144,000
A multitude of nations, gentiles
[9] After this I beheld,
and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and
kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the
Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;[10] And cried
with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne,
and unto the Lamb.
Rev.12
[1] And there appeared a
great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under
her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:[2] And she being
with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
[3] And there appeared
another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon,
having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.[4]
And his, the great red dragon’s tail drew the third part of
the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth:
and the
dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered,
for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
[5] And she brought
forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her
child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
[6] And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she had a place
prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and
threescore days. 1260 approx. 3 ½ years
[7] And there was war in
heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the
dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
[8] And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
[9] And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the
Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was
cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with
him.
[10] And I heard a loud
voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of
our God, and the power of his Messiah: for the accuser of our
brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
[11] And they overcame him, the devil by
the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not
their lives unto the death.
[12] Therefore rejoice, you heavens, and you that dwell in them. Woe to
the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto
you, having great wrath, because he knows that he had but a short time.
[13] And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he
persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
[14] And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that
she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a
time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the
serpent.
[15] And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood
after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
[16] And the earth
helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up
the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
[17] And the dragon was wroth with the
woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed,
which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Yeshua the Messiah.
In closing for today:
Be one of the few that make it, keep God’s commandments…
May God Bless you
