March - Mars' month

Middle English March
Latin Martius "of Mars"
Latin Martius mensis "month of Mars"

Martius has always had 31 days.

March was the original beginning of the year,

and the time for the resumption of war.

Mars is the Roman god of warHe is identified with the Greek god Ares.

Yehovah has His own calendar: We are now in the 12th month, Adar, day 7

The second Temple

And they builded, and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel,

and according to the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.

[15] And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.

Esth.3 [7] In the first month, that is, the month Nisan, in the twelfth year of king Ahasuerus, they cast Pur, that is, the lot, before Haman from day to day, and from month to month, to the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar…

Before the captivity

First and last words:

Isa.1 [1] The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.

Isa.66 [22] For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, said Yehovah, so shall your seed and your name remain.
[23] And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, said Yehovah.
[24] And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

Hosea

First and last words:

Hos.1[1] The word of Yehovah that came unto Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.

[2] The beginning of the word of Yehovah by Hosea. And Yehovah said to Hosea, Go, take unto you a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land had committed great whoredom, departing from Yehovah.

[19] He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and you wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
[20] You will perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which you have sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.

** Captive, captivity

** Jeremiah

First and last words:

Jer.1 [1] The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests that were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin:
[2] To whom
the word of Yehovah came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.

[3] It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.

Jer.52 [31] And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the five and twentieth day of the month, that Evil-merodach king of Babylon in the first year of his reign lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, and brought him forth out of prison,
[
32] And spake kindly unto him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings that were with him in Babylon,
[
33] And changed his prison garments: and he did continually eat bread before him all the days of his life.
[
34] And for his diet, there was a continual diet given him of the king of Babylon, every day a portion until the day of his death, all the days of his life.

Lamentations of Jeremiah

First and last words:

Lam.1[1] How doth the city sit solitary, that was full of people how is she become as a widow she that was was great among the nations, and princess among the provinces, how is she become tributary
[2] She weeps sore in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks: among all her lovers she had none to comfort her: all her friends have dealt treacherously with her, they are become her enemies.
[3] Judah is gone into
captivity because of affliction, and because of great servitude: she dwells among the heathen, she findeth no rest: all her persecutors overtook her between the straits.

Lam.5 [19] You, O Yehovah remains forever; your throne from generation to generation.
[20] Wherefore do you forget us forever, and forsake us so long time?
[21] Turn you us unto you, Yehovah, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.
[22] But you have utterly rejected us; you are very wroth against us

** Ezekiel

First and last words:

Ezek.1[1] Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.
[2] In the fifth day of the month, which was
the fifth year of king Jehoiachin's captivity,
[3] The word of Yehovah came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of Yehovah was there upon him.

Ezek.48 [29] This is the land which you shall divide by lot unto the tribes of Israel for inheritance, and these are their portions, said the Lord Yehovah.
[30] And these are the goings out of the city on the north side, four thousand and five hundred measures.
[31] And the gates of the city shall be after the names of the tribes of Israel: three gates northward; one gate of Reuben, one gate of Judah, one gate of Levi.
[32] And at the east side four thousand and five hundred: and three gates; and one gate of Joseph, one gate of Benjamin, one gate of Dan.
[33] And at the south side four thousand and five hundred measures: and three gates; one gate of Simeon, one gate of Issachar, one gate of Zebulun.
[34] At the west side four thousand and five hundred, with their three gates; one gate of Gad, one gate of Asher, one gate of Naphtali.
[35] It was round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city from that day shall be, Yehovah is there.

** Habakkuk

First and last words:

Hab.1 [1] The burden which Habakkuk the prophet did see.
[
2] Yehovah, how long shall I cry, and you wilt not hear! even cry out unto you of violence, and you wilt not save!
[
3] Why does you show me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance? for spoiling and violence are before me: and there are that raise up strife and contention.
[
4] Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceedeth.
[
5] Behold you among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work a work in your days, which you will not believe, though it be told you.
[
6] For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces that are not their.

[8] Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves: and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to eat.
[
9] They shall come all for violence: their faces shall sup up as the east wind, and they shall gather the captivity as the sand.

Hab.3 [1] A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet upon Shigionoth.
[
2] Yehovah, I have heard your speech, and was afraid: Yehovah, revive your work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.

[17] Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:
[18] Yet I will rejoice in Yehovah, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
[19] Yehovah God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places, to the chief singer on my stringed instruments.

** Daniel

First and last words:

Dan. 1[1] In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon unto Jerusalem, and besieged it.

Dan.12 [1] And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

[9] And he said, Go your way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
[10] Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
[11] And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that makes desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
[12] Blessed is he that waites, and comes to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.
[13] But go you your way till the end be: for you shalt rest, and stand in your lot at the end of the days.

[3] Yehovah is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: Yehovah had his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

Nah.3 [18] Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: your nobles shall dwell in the dust: your people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them.

2 Kgs.24 [1] In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years: then he turned and rebelled against him.

[2] And Yehovah sent against him bands of the Chaldees, and bands of the Syrians, and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of Yehovah, which he spake by his servants the prophets.

[3] Surely at the commandment of Yehovah came this upon Judah, to remove them out of his sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did;
[
4] And also for the innocent blood that he shed: for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; which Yehovah would not pardon.
[
5] Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
[
6] So Jehoiakim slept with his fathers: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.

[15] And he carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, and the king's mother, and the king's wives, and his officers, and the mighty of the land, those carried he into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.

Let us remember:

Lamentations 3

[21] This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
[22] It is of Yehovah’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
[23] They are new every morning: great is your faithfulness.

[24] Yehovah is my portion, said my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
[25] Yehovah is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeks him.
[26] It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of Yehovah.

[31] For the Lord will not cast off for ever:
[32] But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.
[33] For he does not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.

Inclosing for today,

May our last words be Praise Yah, forgive us all

May God bless you all
