Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s.
Today is Oct. 12th 2013
October -- the eighth month
Middle English octobre
Latin October
Latin octo
"eight" + -ber (adj. suffix)
Latin october mensis
"eighth month"
October has always had 31 days.
Crazy, today it is the 10th month but means 8
------------------
Yehovah has His own calendar
We are now in the 8th month - the month Bul, 6th day
The 8th month called Bul (pronounced Bool, "rain")
1 Kgs.6 [38] And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it.
(Part of October & November)
Judaism calls this month Cheshvan or Marheshvan. This is not in the Hebrew Scriptures.

I don’t know where this topic came
from last night, however, I felt compelled to look it up.
Today's Topic:
God is jealous
קנּוא qanno - jealous or angry
קנּא qanna - jealous
Paul
says: 1Cor.10 [22] Do we provoke Yehovah to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?
[1]
And God spake all these words, saying,
[2] I am Yehovah thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of
Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
[3] Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
[4] Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing
that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the
water under the earth:
[5] Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I Yehovah thy God am a jealous God, visiting
the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation
of them that hate me;
[6] And shewing
mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
[1]
And Yehovah said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first:
and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables,
which thou brakest.
[2] And be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning unto mount
Sinai, and present thyself there to me in the top of the mount.
[3] And no man shall come up with thee, neither let any man be seen
throughout all the mount; neither let the flocks nor herds
feed before that mount.
[4] And he hewed two tables of stone like unto the first; and Moses rose
up early in the morning, and went up unto mount Sinai, as
Yehovah had commanded him, and took in his hand the two tables of stone.
[5] And Yehovah descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and
proclaimed the name of Yehovah.
[6] And Yehovah passed by before him, and proclaimed, Yehovah, Yehovah
God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,
[7] Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression
and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of
the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third
and to the fourth generation.
[8] And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and
worshipped.
[9] And he said, If now I have found
grace in thy sight, Yehovah, let my Lord, I pray thee, go among us; for it is a
stiffnecked
people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for thine inheritance.
[10] And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all thy people I
will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation:
and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of Yehovah: for it
is a terrible thing that I will do with thee.
[11] Observe thou that which I command thee this day: behold, I drive
out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite,
and the Hivite,
and the Jebusite.
[12] Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the
inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst
of thee:
[13] But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down
their groves:
[14] For thou shalt worship no other god: for
Yehovah, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
[15] Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the
land, and they go a whoring after their gods , and do sacrifice unto their
gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice;
[16] And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters
go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods.
[17] Thou shalt make thee no molten gods.
Num.5
[12]
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man's wife go
aside, and commit a trespass against him,
[13] And a man lie with her carnally, and it be hid from the eyes of her
husband, and be kept close, and she be defiled, and there be no witness against
her, neither she be taken with the manner;
[14] And the spirit of jealousy
come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be defiled: or if the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be
jealous of his wife, and she be not defiled:
[15] Then shall the man bring his wife unto the priest, and he shall
bring her offering for her, the tenth part of an ephah of barley meal; he
shall pour no oil upon it, nor put frankincense thereon; for it is an offering
of jealousy, an offering of memorial, bringing iniquity to remembrance.
[16] And the priest shall bring her near, and set her before Yehovah:
[17] And the priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel; and of
the dust that is in the floor of the tabernacle the priest shall take, and put
it into the water:
[18] And the priest shall set the woman before Yehovah, and uncover the
woman's head, and put the offering of memorial in her hands, which is the
jealousy offering: and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that causeth
the curse:
[19] And the priest shall charge her by an oath, and say unto the woman,
If no man have lain with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside to uncleanness
with another instead of thy husband, be thou free from this bitter water that causeth
the curse:
[20] But if thou hast gone aside to another instead of thy husband, and
if thou be defiled, and some man have lain with thee beside thine husband:
[21] Then the priest shall charge the woman with an oath of cursing, and
the priest shall say unto the woman, Yehovah make thee a curse and an oath
among thy people, when Yehovah doth make thy thigh to rot, and thy belly to
swell;
[22] And this water that causeth the curse shall go into thy bowels, to
make thy belly to swell, and thy thigh to rot: And the woman shall say, Amen,
amen.
[23] And the priest shall write these curses in a book, and he shall
blot them out with the bitter water:
[24] And he shall cause the woman to drink the bitter water that causeth
the curse: and the water that causeth
the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter.
[25] Then the priest shall take the jealousy offering out of the woman's
hand, and shall wave the offering before Yehovah, and offer it upon the altar:
[26] And the priest shall take an handful of the offering, even the
memorial thereof, and burn it upon the altar, and afterward shall cause the
woman to drink the water.
[27] And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to
pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that
the water that causeth
the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell,
and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people.
[28] And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be
free, and shall conceive seed.
[29] This is the law of jealousies,
when a wife goeth
aside to another instead of her husband, and is defiled;
[30] Or when the spirit of jealousy cometh upon him, and he be jealous over his
wife, and shall set the woman before Yehovah, and the priest shall execute upon
her all this law.
[31] Then shall the man be guiltless from iniquity, and this woman shall
bear her iniquity.
Deut.4 [23]
Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of Yehovah your God,
which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing,
which Yehovah thy God hath forbidden thee.[24] For
Yehovah thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.
[1]
And Moses called all Israel, and said unto them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes
and judgments which I speak in your ears this day, that ye may learn them, and keep,
and do them.
[2] Yehovah our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.
[3] Yehovah made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even
us, who are all of us here alive this day.
[4] Yehovah talked with you face to face in the mount out of the midst
of the fire,
[5] (I stood between Yehovah and you at that time, to shew you
the work of Yehovah: for ye were afraid by reason of the fire, and went not up
into the mount;) saying,
[6] I am Yehovah thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt,
from the house of bondage.
[7] Thou shalt have none other gods before me.
[8] Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing
that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the
waters beneath the earth:
[9] Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I Yehovah thy God am a jealous God, visiting the
iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation
of them that hate me,
[10] And shewing
mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.
Deut.6[10] And it shall
be, when Yehovah thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware
unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee
great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,
[11] And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged,
which thou diggedst
not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou
shalt have eaten and be full;
[12] Then beware lest thou forget Yehovah, which brought thee forth out
of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
[13] Thou shalt fear Yehovah thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by
his name.
[14] Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which
are round about you;
[15] (For Yehovah thy God is a jealous God
among you) lest the anger of Yehovah thy God be kindled against
thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.
Deut.29[9] Keep
therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all
that ye do.
[10] Ye stand this day all of you before Yehovah your God; your captains
of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Israel,
[11] Your little ones, your wives, and thy stranger that is in thy camp,
from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water:
[12] That thou shouldest enter into covenant with Yehovah thy God, and
into his oath, which Yehovah thy God maketh with thee this day:
[13] That he may establish thee to day for a people unto
himself, and that he may be unto thee a God, as he hath said unto thee, and as
he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
[14] Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath;
[15] But with him that standeth here with us this day before Yehovah our
God, and also with him that is not here with us this day:
[16] (For ye know how we have dwelt in the land of Egypt; and how we
came through the nations which ye passed by;
[17] And ye have seen their abominations, and their idols, wood and
stone, silver and gold, which were among them:)
[18] Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe,
whose heart turneth
away this day from Yehovah our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations;
lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;
[19] And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse,
that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk
in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:
[20] Yehovah will not spare him, but then the anger of Yehovah and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all
the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and Yehovah shall
blot out his name from under heaven.
[21] And Yehovah shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of
Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this
book of the law:
Deut.32[16] They
provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with
abominations provoked they him to anger.
[21]
They have moved me to jealousy with that which is
not God; they have provoked me to anger
with their vanities:
and I will move
them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to
anger with a foolish nation.
Josh.24[19] And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve Yehovah: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins. [20] If ye forsake Yehovah, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.
1Kgs.14[21] And Rehoboam
the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty and one years old when he
began to reign, and he reigned seventeen
years in Jerusalem, the city which Yehovah did choose out of all the tribes of
Israel, to put his name there. And his mother's name
was Naamah
an Ammonitess.
[22] And Judah did evil in the sight of Yehovah, and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins
which they had committed, above all that their fathers had done.
[23] For they also built them high places, and images, and groves,
on every high hill, and under every green tree.
[24] And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according
to all the abominations of the nations which Yehovah cast out before the children
of Israel.
Pss.78[56] Yet they
tempted and provoked the most high God, and kept not his testimonies:
[57] But turned back, and dealt unfaithfully like their fathers: they
were turned aside like a deceitful bow.
[58] For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their graven images.
[59] When God heard this, he was wroth, and greatly abhorred
Israel:
[60] So that he forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent which he
placed among men;
[61] And delivered his strength into captivity, and his glory into the
enemy's hand.
[62] He gave his people over also unto the sword; and was wroth with his
inheritance.
[63] The fire consumed their young men; and their maidens were not given
to marriage.
[64] Their priests fell by the sword; and their widows made no
lamentation.
Pss.79[5] How long,
Yehovah? wilt
thou be angry for
ever? shall thy jealousy burn like fire?
[1]
And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of
the month, as I sat in mine house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, that
the hand of the Lord Yehovah fell there upon me.
[2] Then I beheld, and lo a likeness as the appearance of fire: from the
appearance of his loins even downward, fire; and from his
loins even upward, as the appearance of brightness, as the colour of amber.
[3] And he put forth the form of an hand, and took me by a lock of mine
head; and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought
me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looketh
toward the north; where was the seat of the image of
jealousy, which provoketh
to jealousy.
[4]
And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the vision
that I saw in the plain.
[5] Then said he unto me, Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way toward
the north. So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north, and behold
northward at the gate of the altar this image of
jealousy in the entry.
[6] He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they do? even
the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here, that I
should go far off from my sanctuary?
but turn thee yet again,
and thou shalt see greater abominations.
[7]
And he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold
a hole in the wall.
[8] Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I
had digged
in the wall, behold a door.
[9] And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that
they do here.
[10] So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and
abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed
upon the wall round about.
[11]
And there stood before them seventy
men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah
the son of Shaphan,
with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up.
[12]
Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen
what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the
chambers of his imagery? for they say,
Yehovah seeth
us not; Yehovah hath forsaken the earth.
[13]
He said also unto me, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater
abominations that they do.
[14]
Then he brought me to the door of the gate of Yehovah's house which was
toward the north; and, behold, there sat women
weeping for Tammuz.
[15]
Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen this,
O son of man? turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see
greater abominations than these.
[16]
And he brought me into the inner court of Yehovah's house, and,
behold, at the door of the temple of Yehovah, between the porch and the altar, were
about five and twenty men, with their backs
toward the temple of Yehovah, and their faces toward the east; and they
worshipped the sun toward the east.
[17]
Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man?
Is
it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which
they commit here? for they have filled the land with
violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the
branch to their nose.
[18] Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will
I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not
hear them.
Ezek.16[30] How weak is
thine heart, saith the Lord Yehovah, seeing thou doest all these things, the
work of an imperious whorish woman;
Imperious - domineering in a haughty manner; dictatorial; overbearing: an imperious manner; an imperious person.
[31]
In that thou buildest
thine eminent place in the head of every way, and makest thine high place in
every street; and hast not been as an harlot, in that thou scornest hire;
[32] But as a wife that committeth adultery, which taketh strangers
instead of her husband!
[33] They give gifts to all whores: but thou givest thy gifts to all thy
lovers, and hirest
them, that they may come unto thee on every side for thy whoredom.
[34] And the contrary is in thee from other women in thy whoredoms,
whereas none followeth
thee to commit whoredoms:
and in that thou givest
a reward, and no reward is given unto thee, therefore thou art contrary.
[35] Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of Yehovah:
[36] Thus saith the Lord Yehovah; Because thy filthiness was poured out,
and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers,
and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children,
which thou didst give unto them;
[37] Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast
taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast
hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover
thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.
[38] And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood
are judged; and I will give thee
blood in fury and jealousy.
Ezek.23[25] And I will set my jealousy against thee, and they
shall deal furiously with thee: they shall take away thy nose and thine ears;
and thy remnant shall fall by the sword: they shall take thy sons and thy
daughters; and thy residue shall be devoured by the fire.
[35] Therefore thus saith the Lord Yehovah; Because thou hast forgotten me, and cast me behind thy back, therefore bear thou also thy lewdness and thy whoredoms.
Ezek.36[5] Therefore
thus saith the Lord Yehovah; Surely in the fire of
my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and
against all Idumea,
which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their
heart, with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey.
[6]
Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel, and say unto the mountains,
and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, Thus
saith the Lord Yehovah; Behold, I have spoken in my
jealousy and in my fury, because ye have borne the shame of the
heathen:
Ezek.38[19] For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath
have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of
Israel;
[20] So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the
beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all
the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and
the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every
wall shall fall to the ground.
[21] And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my
mountains, saith the Lord Yehovah: every man's sword shall be against his
brother.
[22] And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I
will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with
him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.
[23] Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be
known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am Yehovah.
Nah.1[2] God is jealous, and Yehovah revengeth; Yehovah revengeth,
and is furious; Yehovah will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth
wrath for his enemies.
Zeph.1[14] The great
day of Yehovah is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the
voice of the day of Yehovah: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.
[15] That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of
wasteness
and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick
darkness,
[16] A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and
against the high towers.
[17] And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall
walk like blind men, because they have sinned against Yehovah: and their blood
shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.
[18] Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them
in the day of Yehovah's
wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the
fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of
all them that dwell in the land.
[1]
Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city!
[2] She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted
not in Yehovah; she drew not near to her God.
[3] Her princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening
wolves; they gnaw not the bones till the morrow.
[4] Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary,
they have done violence to the law.
[5] The just Yehovah is in the midst thereof; he will not do
iniquity: every morning doth he bring his judgment to light, he faileth
not; but the unjust knoweth no shame.
[6] I have cut off the nations: their towers are desolate; I made their
streets waste, that none passeth
by: their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, that there is none
inhabitant.
[7] I said, Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt
receive instruction; so their dwelling should not be cut off, howsoever I
punished them: but they rose early, and corrupted all their doings.
[8]
Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the
prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the
kingdoms, to pour upon them mine
indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the
earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.
--------------------
One way to look at this is:
Jealousy between man and woman
Prov.6[20]
My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
[21] Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck.
[22] When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep
thee; and when thou awakest,
it shall talk with thee.
[23] For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of
instruction are the way of life:
[24]
To keep thee from the evil woman, from the
flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.
[25] Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with
her eyelids.
[26] For by means of a whorish woman a man is
brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress
will hunt for the precious life.
[27] Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his
clothes not be burned?
[28] Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?
[29]
So he that goeth
in to his neighbour's
wife; whosoever toucheth
her shall not be innocent.
[30] Men do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is
hungry;
[31] But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the
substance of his house.
[32]
But
whoso committeth
adultery with a woman lacketh
understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.
[33] A wound and dishonor shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped
away.
[34] For jealousy is the rage of a man: therefore he
will not spare in the day of vengeance.[35] He will not
regard any ransom; neither will he rest content, though thou givest
many gifts.
Song of Solomon 8[6] Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal
upon thine arm: for love
is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave:
the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.

In closing:
Let’s seek
the God of Israel with our whole heart and not be tainted with all the paganisms of this world and inherit the blessings.
