Today, we sadly use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s.

The date is Sept. 17, 2022 (in the 21 Century)

September -- the seventh month

Middle English septembre
Latin September
Latin
septem "seven" + -ber (adj. suffix)
Latin
september mensis "seventh month"

September had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius when it became 30 days long.

The God of Israel has His own Calendar:

We are now in the 6th month of God called Elul  אֱל֑וּל, day 20

Neh.6 [15] So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul,

Neh.7 [73] So the priests, and the Levites, and the porters, and the singers, and some of the people, and the
Nethinims, and all Israel, dwelt in their cities; and when the seventh month came, the children of Israel were in their cities.

Today’s Topic:

God’s mercy, mercies

Some Psalms:

Pss.4 [1] Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: you have enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.

Pss.5 [7] … I will come into your house in the multitude of your mercy: and in your fear will I worship toward your holy temple.

Pss.6 [2] Have mercy upon me, O Yehovah; for I am weak: O Yehovah, heal me; for my bones are vexed.

[4] Return, O Yehovah, deliver my soul: oh save me for your mercies' sake.

Pss.9 [13] Have mercy upon me, O Yehovah; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, you that liftest me up from the gates of death: [14] That I may show forth all your praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in your salvation.

Pss.13 [5]… I have trusted in your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.

Pss.18 [50] Great deliverance gives he to his king; and shows mercy to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore.

Pss.21 [7] For the king trusts in Yehovah, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.

Pss.23 [6] Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of Yehovah forever.

Pss.25 [7] Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to your mercy remember you me for your goodness' sake, O Yehovah.

[10] All the paths of Yehovah are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

[16] Turn you unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.

Pss.27 [7] Hear, O Yehovah, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.

Pss.30 [10] Hear, O Yehovah, and have mercy upon me: Yehovah, be you my helper.

Pss.31 [6] Remember, O Yehovah, your tender mercies and your loving kindnesses; for they have been ever of old. [7] I will be glad and rejoice in your mercy: for you have considered my trouble; you have known my soul in adversities; [8] And have not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: you have set my feet in a large room.[9] Have mercy upon me, O Yehovah, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly.

Pss.32 [10] Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in Yehovah, mercy shall compass him about.

Pss.33 [18] Behold, the eye of Yehovah is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; [19] To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.

[22] Let your mercy, O Yehovah, be upon us, according as we hope in you.

Pss.36 [5] Thy mercy, O Yehovah, is in the heavens; and your faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.

Pss.37 [21] The wicked borrows, and pays not again: but the righteous shows mercy, and gives.

Pss.40 [11] Withhold not you your tender mercies from me, O Yehovah: let your loving kindness and your truth continually preserve me.

Pss.44 [26] Arise for our help, and redeem us for your mercies' sake.

Pss.51 [1] Have mercy upon me, O God, according to your loving kindness: according unto the multitude of your tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

Pss.52 [8] … I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever.

Pss.57 [3] He shall send from heaven, and save from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.

[10] For your mercy is great unto the heavens, and your truth unto the clouds.

Pss.59 [10] The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see my desire upon mine enemies.

[16] But I will sing of your power; yea, I will sing aloud of your mercy in the morning: for you have been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble.[17] Unto you, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defense, and the God of my mercy.

Pss.61 [7] He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him.

Pss.62 [12] Also unto you, O Lord, belongs mercy: for you render to every man according to his work.

Pss.66 [20] Blessed be God, which had not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.

Pss.69 [13] … as for me, my prayer is unto you, O Yehovah, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of your mercy hear me, in the truth of your salvation.

[16] Hear me, O Yehovah; for your loving kindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of your tender mercies.

Pss.77 [6] I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart: and my spirit made diligent search.
[7] Will the Lord cast off forever? and will he be favourable no more?
[8] Is his mercy clean gone forever? does his promise fail for evermore?
[9] Hath God forgotten to be gracious? had he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah.
[10] And I said, this is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High.
[11] I will remember the works of Yehovah: surely I will remember your wonders of old.
[12] I will meditate also of all your work, and talk of your doings.
[13] Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?
[14] You are the God that does wonders: you have declared your strength among the people.

Pss.79 [8] O remember not against us former iniquities: let your tender mercies speedily prevent us: for we are brought very low.

Pss.85 [7] Shew us your mercy, O Yehovah, and grant us your salvation.

[10] Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

Pss.86 [5] For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon you.

[13] For great is your mercy toward me: and you have delivered my soul from the lowest hell.

[15] But you, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.

[16] O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give your strength unto your servant, and save the son of your handmaid.

Pss.89 [1] I will sing of the mercies of Yehovah forever: with my mouth will I make known your faithfulness to all generations. [2] For I have said, Mercy shall be built up forever: your faithfulness shall you establish in the very heavens.

[13] You have a mighty arm: strong is your hand, and high is your right hand.[14] Justice and judgment are the habitation of your throne: mercy and truth shall go before your face.

[24] But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.

[28] My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.

Pss.90 [14] O satisfy us early with your mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

Pss.94 [18] When I said, My foot slips; your mercy, O Yehovah, held me up.

Pss.98 [1] O sing unto Yehovah a new song; for he hath done marvelous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, had gotten him the victory.
[2] Yehovah hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly showed in the sight of the heathen.
[3] He had remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
[4] Make a joyful noise unto Yehovah, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.
[5] Sing unto Yehovah with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.
[6] With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before Yehovah, the King.

Pss.100 [5] For Yehovah is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endures to all generations.

Pss.101 [1] I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto you, O Yehovah, will I sing.

Pss.102 [13] You shall arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favor her, yea, the set time, is come.

Pss.103

[1] Bless Yehovah, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
[2] Bless Yehovah, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
[3] Who forgives all your iniquities; who heals all your diseases;
[4] Who redeems your life from destruction; who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies;
[5] Who satisfies your mouth with good things; so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
[6] The Yehovah executes righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

[8] The Yehovah is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

[10] He had not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.[11] For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

[17] But the mercy of Yehovah is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;

[18] To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.
[19] The Yehovah had prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom rules over all.
[20] Bless Yehovah, you his angels that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.
[21] Bless you Yehovah, all you his hosts; you ministers of his that do his pleasure.
[22] Bless Yehovah, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless Yehovah, O my soul.

Pss.106 [1] Praise you Yehovah. O give thanks unto Yehovah; for he is good: for his mercy endures forever.

Pss.107 [1] O give thanks unto Yehovah, for he is good: for his mercy endures forever.

Pss.108 [4] For your mercy is great above the heavens: and your truth reacheth unto the clouds.

Pss.109 [12] Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to favor his fatherless children.

[16] Because that he remembered not to show mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.

[21] But do you for me, O GOD the Lord, for your name's sake: because your mercy is good, deliver you me.

[26] Help me, O Yehovah my God: O save me according to your mercy:

Pss.115 [1] Not unto us, O Yehovah, not unto us, but unto your name give glory, for your mercy, and for your truth's sake.

Pss.118 [1] O give thanks unto Yehovah; for he is good: because his mercy endures forever.[2] Let Israel now say, that his mercy endures forever.[3] Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endures forever.[4] Let them now that fear Yehovah say, that his mercy endures forever.

[29] O give thanks unto Yehovah; for he is good: for his mercy endures forever.

Pss.119 [41] Let your mercies come also unto me, O Yehovah, even your salvation, according to your word.

[64] The earth, O Yehovah, is full of your mercy: teach me your statutes.

[77] Let your tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for your law is my delight.

[124] Deal with your servant according unto your mercy, and teach me your statutes.

[156] Great are your tender mercies, O Yehovah: quicken me according to your judgments.

Pss.123 [1] Unto you lift I up mine eyes, O you that dwellest in the heavens. [2] Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon Yehovah our God, until that he have mercy upon us. [3] Have mercy upon us, O Yehovah, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.

Pss.130 [7] Let Israel hope in Yehovah: for with Yehovah there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.

Pss.145 [9] The Yehovah is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.

Pss.136

[1] O give thanks unto Yehovah; for he is good: for his mercy endures forever.
[2] O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endures forever.

[4] To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endures forever.
[5] To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endures forever.
[6] To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endures forever.

[13] To him which divided the Red sea into parts: for his mercy endures forever:
[14] And made Israel to pass through the midst of it: for his mercy endures forever:
[15] But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red sea: for his mercy endures forever.
[16] To him which led his people through the wilderness: for his mercy endures forever.
[17] To him which smote great kings: for his mercy endures forever:
[18] And slew famous kings: for his mercy endures forever:
[19] Sihon king of the Amorites: for his mercy endures forever:
[20] And Og the king of Bashan: for his mercy endures forever:
[21] And gave their land for an heritage: for his mercy endures forever:
[22] Even an heritage unto Israel his servant: for his mercy endures forever.
[23] Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endures forever:
[24] And had redeemed us from our enemies: for his mercy endures forever.
[25] Who gives food to all flesh: for his mercy endures forever.
[26] O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endures forever.

Pss.138 [8] The Yehovah will perfect that which concerns me: your mercy, O Yehovah, endures forever: forsake not the works of your own hands.

Pss.143 [11] Quicken me, O Yehovah, for thy name's sake: for thy righteousness' sake bring my soul out of trouble. [12] And of your mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my soul: for I am your servant.

[2] For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to you.

Some Gospels and letters

Col.3

[12] Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;[13] Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Messiah forgave you, so also do you.
[
14] And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
[
15] And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

Phil.2

[1] If there be therefore any consolation in Messiah, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
[2] Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
[3] Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
[4] Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
