Shabbat Shalom

שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם

We are sadly, still using the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s today in the 21 century

Today is 3/30/2024

March - Mars' month

Middle English March(e)
Anglo-French March(e)
Old English Martius
Latin Martius "of Mars"
Latin Marti(s) "Mars" + -us (adj. suffix)
Latin Martius mensis
"month of Mars"

Martius has always had 31 days.

March was the original beginning of the year and the time for the resumption of war.

Mars is the Roman god of war. He is identified with the Greek god Ares.

Yehovah has His own calendar which is deleted from the world

We are now in Adar2, day 19

Today’s topic:

A sacred assembly

Deut.6 [5] … you shall love Yehovah your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.

Lev.19 [18] You shall not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am Yehovah.

The Feasts of Yehovah and Sabbaths are holy convocations

This is a study we all should know, it has been said many times over the years.

Holy convocations are commands from God to us.

Lev.23 – full chapter below

[1] And Yehovah spoke unto Moses, saying,

[2] Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, concerning the feasts of
Yehovah, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.

[3] Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; you shall do no work therein: it is the Sabbath of
Yehovah in all your dwellings.

The Sabbath is an holy convocation

Let’s read Lev.23 - Remember who is speaking

[1] And Yehovah spoke unto Moses, saying,

[2] Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, concerning the feasts of Yehovah, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.

[14] And you shall eat neither bread, nor parched corn, nor green ears, until the selfsame day that you have brought an offering unto your God: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

days; and you shall offer a new meat offering unto Yehovah.

[17] You shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baked with leaven; they are the first fruits unto Yehovah.

it shall be a statute forever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.

[24] Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall you have a Sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.

[26] And Yehovah spoke unto Moses, saying,

**Here are a few verses to show what Yeshua did on the Sabbath day

[21] And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he / Yeshua entered into the synagogue, and taught.

Mark.3

[1] And he / Yeshua entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand.[2] And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the Sabbath day; that they might accuse him.

Luke.6

[6] And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he / Yeshua entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered.

Luke.13

[14] And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Yeshua had healed on the Sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day.

**Here are a few verses to show what Paul did on the Sabbath day

Saul /Paul

Acts.13

[14] But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and sat down.

[42] And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.

Acts.15 [21] For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath day.

Acts.18 [4] And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.

And lastly…

Psalm 19

[7] The law of Yehovah is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of Yehovah is sure, making wise the simple.

[8] The statutes of Yehovah are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of Yehovah is pure, enlightening the eyes.

[9] The fear of Yehovah is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of Yehovah are true and righteous altogether.

[10] More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

[11] Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

Over the years I spoke many times about the 7 other Sabbaths besides the weekly 7th day Sabbath.

In closing for today,

We see the Feasts of Yehovah and the Sabbath are holy convocation; they are an assembly of people together.

I never read that the Sabbath was done alone by anyone in scripture.

I said numerous times in the past 22 years, if there was another congregation anywhere that kept the commandments and Sabbath, we would go there. I still believe that.

Like I said in last week’s study, it is your choice each day what you are going to do, good or evil - Choose life that you may live

Remember:

Lev.19

[15] You shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: you shall not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shall you judge thy neighbor.

Prov.24

[23] These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.

As the saying goes:

So what is good for the goose is good for the gander

We all do the same things

Remember, Jame said:

Jas.4 [17] Therefore to him /her that knows to do good and does it not, to him it is sin.

May God bless your lives
