Today we use the Gregorian calendar (From Pope Gregory, from the
1500's)
Today is Dec 21, 2024
December - the tenth month, today the 12th month
Latin december "tenth month"
Latin decem "ten" + -ber (adj. suffix)
December had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days,
until Julius when it became 31 days long.
Yehovah has
His own calendar:
We are now in the 9th month of God called Chislev, Zach
7:1 - in English, scripture calls it Chisleu – day 18
Today’s Topic
In the beginning was the Word
The bible is simple. You just need to read it.
Mal.3 [6] … I am Yehovah, I change not…
Heb.13 [8]
Yeshua the Messiah the same
yesterday, today and forever.
[1] In the beginning was
the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
[2] The same was in the beginning with God.
[3] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made
that was made.
[4] In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
[5] And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it
not.
[14] And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we
beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of
grace and truth
1 John 5 [7] For there are
three that bear record in heaven, the
Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
7 days, 10 commandments, 3 feasts
Gen.1
[1]
In the beginning God created the heaven and
the earth.
[2] And the earth
was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the
Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
[3]
And God said, Let there be light:
and there was light.
[4] And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
[5] And God called the light Day,
and the darkness he called Night.
And the evening and the morning were the first day.
[6]
And God said, Let there be a firmament
in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
[7] And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
[8] And God called the firmament
Heaven.
And the evening and the morning were the second day.
[9]
And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one
place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
[10] And God called the dry land
Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw
that it was good.
[11] And God said, Let the earth
bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit
after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
[12] And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after
his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his
kind: and God saw that it was good.
[13]
And the evening and the morning were
the third day.
[14]
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the
day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days,
and youars:
[15] And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give
light upon the earth: and it was so.
[16] And God made two great
lights; the greater light to rule
the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
[17] And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light
upon the earth,
[18] And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the
light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
[19]
And the evening and the morning were
the fourth day.
[20]
And God said, Let the waters bring forth
abundantly the moving creature that had life, and fowl that may fly above the
earth in the open firmament of heaven.
[21] And God created great whales,
and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth
abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw
that it was good.
[22] And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill
the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
[23]
And the evening and the morning were
the fifth day.
[24]
And God said, Let the earth bring forth
the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of
the earth after his kind: and it was so.
[25] And God made the beast
of the earth after his kind, and
cattle after their kind, and every
thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was
good.
[26]
And God said, Let us make man in our
image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the
sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth,
and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
[27] So God created man in his
own image, in the image of God
created he him; male and female created he them.
[28] And God blessed them,
and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish / fill the earth, and subdue it: and have
dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every
living thing that moveth upon the earth.
[29] And God said, Behold, I have
given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth,
and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it
shall be for meat.
[30] And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and
to everything that creeps upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given
every green herb for meat: and it was so.
[31] And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very
good.
And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Gen.2
[1]
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
[2] And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which
he had made.
[3]
And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it
he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
7 days
Matt.22 [37]
Yeshua said unto him, you shall love Yehovah your God with all your your heart,
and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
[38] This is the first and great
commandment.
[39] And the second is like unto it, you shall
love your neighbor as yourself.
[40] On these two commandments hang all the
law and the prophets
Deut.6
[4] Hear, O Israel: Yehovah our God is one Yehovah:
[5] And you shall love Yehovah
your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
The 10 commandments
How we treat God, the first four commandments
Exod.20
1
[1]
And God spoke all these words, saying,
[2] I am Yehovah your God,
which have brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
[3] You shall have no other gods before me.
2
[4] You shall not make unto you
any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that
is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
[5] You shall not bow down yourself
to them, nor serve them: for I Yehovah your God am a jealous God, visiting the
iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation
of them that hate me;
[6] And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my
commandments.
3
[7] You shall not take the
name of Yehovah your God in vain; for Yehovah will not hold him guiltless that
takes his name in vain.
4
[8] Remember the Sabbath day,
to keep it holy. From Gen
2. above - the seventh day
[9] Six days shall you labor, and do all your work:
[10] But the seventh day is the
Sabbath of Yehovah your God: in it you shall not do any work, you, nor your
son, nor your daughter, your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle,
nor your stranger that is within your gates:[11] For in six days Yehovah
made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Yehovah blessed the Sabbath day, and
hallowed it.
How we treat our neighbor –
the remaining 6 commandments
You shall love your neighbor as yourself – the second commandment
5
[12] Honor your father and your mother: that your days may be long upon
the land which Yehovah your God gives you.
6
[13] You shall not kill.
7
[14] You shall not commit
adultery.
8
[15] You shall not steal.
9
[16] You shall not bear false
witness against your neighbor.
10
[17] You shall not covet your
neighbor’s house, you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant,
nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is your
neighbor’s.
There is none other
commandment greater than these.
The 3 feasts of Yehovah
Lev.23
[1]
Yehovah spoke unto Moses, saying,
[2] Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of Yehovah, which you shall proclaim to be holy
convocations, even these are My feasts.
[14] Three times you shall keep a feast unto me
in the year.
[15] You shall
keep the feast of unleavened bread:
you shall eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded you, in the time
appointed of the month Abib; for in it you camest out from Egypt: and none
shall appear before me empty:)
[16] And the feast of harvest,
the firstfruits of your labors, which you hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in
the end of the year, when you hast gathered in your labours out of the field.
[17] Three times in the year
all your males shall appear before Yehovah יְהֹוָה
Deut. 16 [8]
Six days you shall eat unleavened bread: and on the seventh day shall be a solemn
assembly to Yehovah your God: you shall do no work therein.
[9] Seven weeks shall you number unto you:
begin to number the seven weeks from such time as you beginnest to put the
sickle to the corn.
[10] And you shall keep the feast
of weeks unto Yehovah your God with a tribute of a freewill offering of your
hand, which you shall give unto Yehovah your God, according as Yehovah your God
had blessed you:
[11] And you shall rejoice before Yehovah your God, you, and your son,
and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite
that is within your gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow,
that are among you, in the place which Yehovah your God had chosen to place his
name there.
[12] And you shall remember that you wast a bondman in Egypt: and you shall
observe and do these statutes.
[13] You shall observe the feast
of tabernacles seven days…
The feast of unleavened bread
The
feast of harvest, the feast of weeks, Pentecost
The
feast of ingathering, the feast of tabernacles
[16] For all that is
in the world, the
lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of
life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
[17] And the world
passes away, and the lust thereof:
but he
/she that does the will of God abides forever.
[13] Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth
shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of Yehovah of hosts, and in the day
of his fierce anger.
[36] Then Yeshua sent the multitude away, and went into the
house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.
[37] He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the
good seed is the Son of man;
[38] The field is the world;
the
good seed are the children of the kingdom;
but the
tares are the children of the wicked one;
[39] The
enemy that sowed them is the devil;
the harvest is the end of the world;
and the
reapers are the angels.
[40] As
therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire;
so
shall it be in the
end of this world.
[41] The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they
shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do
iniquity;[42] And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be
wailing and gnashing of teeth.
[43] Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the
kingdom of their Father.
Who had
ears to hear, let him hear.
Beware if you feel or hear a voice telling you to separate
yourself from the congregation, go off on your own and read or whatever.
Be safe out there; keep
your eyes open if you are around crowds, malls etc…
