Sabbath, a sacred assembly

The last day of the feast of unleavened bread

 

Today is the last day of the feast of unleavened bread, the 21th of ha Aviv - a Sabbath

Lev.23

[1] And Yehovah spoke unto Moses, saying,
[2] Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of Yehovah, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are My feasts.

[3] Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; you shall do no work therein: it is the Sabbath of Yehovah in all your dwellings.

[4] These are the feasts of Yehovah, even holy convocations, which you shall proclaim in their seasons.

[5] In the fourteenth day of the first month (ha Aviv) at even is Yehovah's Passover.

[6] And on the fifteenth day of the same month (ha Aviv) is the feast of unleavened bread unto Yehovah: seven days you must eat unleavened bread.

[7] In the first day you shall have a holy convocation: you shall do no servile work therein.

[8] … in the seventh day is a holy convocation: you shall do no servile work therein.

Scripture:

Deut.16

[1] Observe the month of Abib, (ha Aviv) and keep the Passover unto Yehovah your God: for in the month of Abib (ha Aviv) Yehovah your God brought you forth out of Egypt by night.

[8] Six days you shall eat unleavened bread: and on the seventh day shall be a solemn assembly to Yehovah your God: you shall do no work therein.

 

A solemn assembly:

עֲצֶרֶת    עֲצָרָה

‛ătsârâh - ‛ătsereth - ats-aw-raw', ats-eh'-reth - an assembly, especially on a holy day: - solemn meeting
