Shabbat Shalom

שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם

Today we are still using the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s which he introduced it as a modification of, and replacement for the Julian calendar.

Today is Sept. 14, 2024

We acknowledge God’s calendar – the 6th month Elul , day 10

Neh.6 [15] So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days.

Neh.7[73] So the priests, and the Levites, and the porters, and the singers, and some of the people, and the Nethinims, and all Israel, dwelt in their cities; and when the seventh month came, the children of Israel were in their cities.

Seventh month is ha Ethanim = 1 Kings:8:2

Today is the 4th commandment, the Sabbath.

Sabbath is not a Jewish tradition.

Here in Genesis 2:2,3 there were no Jews nor Israel at that time.

Gen.2 [2And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

[3] And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

I have been doing basic studies for the last few weeks so people have learn.

Today’s topic:

Let brotherly and sisterly love continue

Charity –Agape: Love, affection, benevolence, charity

Dictionary: noun - Generous actions or donations to aid the poor, ill, or helpless something given to a person or persons in need; alms

A charitable act or work - a charitable fund, foundation, or institution

Benevolent feeling, especially toward those in need or in disfavor

Leniency in judging others; forbearance

Love your neighbor as yourself

Who is my neighbor?

Luke 10

[26] He said unto him, What is written in the law? read it…

[27] And he answering said,
you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.

[28] And he said unto him, you have answered right: this do, and you shalt live.

[29] But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Yeshua,

And who is my neighbor?

[30] And Yeshua answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

[31] And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

[32] And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.

[33] But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,

[34] And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
[35] And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever you spend more, when I come again, I will repay thee.

[36] Which now of these do you think was neighbor unto him that fell among the thieves?

[37] And he said, He that showed mercy on him. Then said Yeshua unto him, Go, and do you likewise.

Lev.19 [18] You shall not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am Yehovah.

Matt.6

[15] But if you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Matt.18

[21Then came Peter to him and said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

[22Yeshua said unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. (Another words, all the time)

[23] Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
[
24] And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
[
25] But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
[
26] The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
[
27] Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.

[28] But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that you owest.
[
29] And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
[
30] And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
[
31] So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
[
32] Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O you wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because you desiredst me:
[
33Should not you also have had compassion on your fellow servant, even as I had pity on thee?

[34] And his lord was wroth and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.

[35] So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if you from your hearts forgive not everyone his brother their trespasses.

Rom.12 [9Let love be without dissimulation.

Dissimulation: To disguise or hide true feelings, thoughts, or intentions

Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

[10] Be kindly affectionate one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another;

[11] Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
[12] Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
[13] Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
[14] Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
[15] Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
[16] Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate.
Be not wise in your own conceits.
[17] Recompense to no man evil for evil.
Provide things honest in the sight of all men.[18If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

עָשַׁק ashaq {aw-shak'} defraud

Meaning:  1) to press upon, oppress, violate, defraud, do violence, get deceitfully, wrong, extort

1a) (Qal) 1a1) to oppress, wrong, extort

1a2) to oppress

1b) (Pual) to be exploited, be crushed

Usage:  AV - oppress 23, oppressor 4, defraud 3, wrong 2, deceived 1, deceitfully gotten 1, oppression 1, drink up 1, violence 1; 37 times

1Thes.4

[6] That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.
[7] For God have not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

[8] He therefore that despises, despises not man, but God, who have also given unto us his holy Spirit.
[9]
But as touching brotherly love you need not that I write unto you: for you yourselves are taught of God to love one another.
[10] And indeed you do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that you increase more and more;
[11] And that you study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
[12] That you may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that you may have lack of nothing. [9] But as touching brotherly love you need not that I write unto you: for you yourselves are taught of God to love one another.

2Pet.1

[1] Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Yeshua the Messiah, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Savior Yeshua the Messiah:
[2] Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Yeshua our Lord,
[3] According as his divine power have given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that have called us to glory and virtue:
[4] Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

[5] And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
[6] And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
[7] And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
[8] For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that you shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah.

[9But he that lacks these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and have forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

[10] Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if you do these things, you shall never fall…

1Cor.8

[1] Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifies.

1Cor.13 - this sounds like Messiah

[1] Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
[2] And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
[3] And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and
have not charity, it profits me nothing.

[4] Charity suffers long, and is kind;

charity envies not;

charity vaunted not itself, is not puffed up,

[5] Doth not behave itself unseemly,

seeketh not her own,

is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

[6Rejoices not in iniquity,

but rejoices in the truth;

[7Bears all things,

believes all things,

hopes all things,

endures all things.

[8Charity never fails:

but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

[9] For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

[10] But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
[11] When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

[12] For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

[13] And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these you; but the greatest of these is charity.

1Cor.16

[14Let all your things be done with charity.

Col.3

[12Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;[13] Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Messiah forgave you, so also do you.[14] And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

1Tim.15

[5] Now the end (result) of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:[6] From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;[7] Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

vain janglingvain talking, empty talk

Eph.4

[26] Be you angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: [27] neither give place to the devil.

Matt.19 [16And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master,

what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

[17] And he said unto him, Why callest you me good? there is none good but one, that is, God:

but if you wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

[18] He said unto him, which?

Yeshua said, you shall do no murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness,
[19Honor your father and your mother: and,
you shall love your neighbor as yourself.

[20] The young man said unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

[21Yeshua said unto him, If you will be perfect, go and sell that you hast, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

[22] But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

[23] Then said Yeshua unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.

[24] And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

[25] When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?

[26] But Yeshua beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Matt.22

[34] But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.

[35] Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,

[36] Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

[37Yeshua said unto him,

you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
[38] This is the first and great commandment.

[39] And the second is like unto it, you shall love your neighbor as yourself.

[40] On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Mark.12 [28] And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him,

Which is the first commandment of all?

[29] And Yeshua answered him,

The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:[30] And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength: this is the first commandment.

[31] And the second is like, namely this, you shall love your neighbor as yourself.

There is none other commandment greater than these.

Gal.5 [13For, brethren, you have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

[14] For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this;

you shall love your neighbor as yourself.

[15But if you bite and devour one another, take heed that you be not consumed one of another.

[16] This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
[17] For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that you cannot do the things that you would.

[18] But if you be led of the Spirit, you are not under the law.

[19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,[20] Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,[21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past,

that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

[22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
[23] Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

[24] And they that are Messiah's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
[25] If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
[26
Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

Jas.2

[8If you fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, you shall love your neighbor as yourself, you do well:

[9] But if you have respect to persons, you commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

[10] For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

[11] For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if you commit no adultery, yet if you kill, you art become a transgressor of the law.

[12] So speak you, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

[13] For He (God) shall have judgment without mercy, that have shewed no mercyand mercy rejoiceth against judgment.

1 John 4

[1] Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

[2] Hereby know you the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Yeshua the Messiah is come in the flesh is of God:

[3And every spirit that confesses not that Yeshua the Messiah is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof you have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

[4] Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

[5They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.

[6] We are of God: he that knows God hears us; he that is not of God hears not us.

Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

[7Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knows God.

[8He that loves not knows not Godfor God is love.

[9] In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

[10] Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

[11Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

[12] No man have seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwells in us, and his love is perfected in us.

[13] Hereby know we that we dwell in Him, and He in us, because he have given us of his Spirit.

[14] And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

[15] Whosoever shall confess that Yeshua is the Son of God, God dwells in him, and he in God.

[16And we have known and believed the love that God have to us. God is love; and he that dwells in love dwells in God, and God in him.

[17] Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

[18] There is no fear (of the world)  in love; but perfect love casted out fear: because fear have torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love.

[19] We love Him, because He first loved us.

[20If a man say I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar:

for he that loves not his brother whom he have seen, how can he love God whom he have not seen?

[21And this commandment have we from Him,

That he who loves God love his brother also.

Rom.13

[8] Owe no man any thing but to love one another: for he that loves another have fulfilled the law.

[9] For this, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not kill, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness, you shall not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely,

you shall love your neighbor as yourself.

[10Love works no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

[11] And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

[12] The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.

[13] Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

[14But put you on the Lord Yeshua the Messiah, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

In closing for today:

Be clean between yourselves and before God.

You shall love your neighbor as yourself
