Before we start, I briefly
want to go over a few things again:
Personality: the quality or state of being a person
The combinations of characteristics and qualities
that form an individual's distinctive character make you who you are.
We now have a Godly personality, Godly attributes and a Godly character.
We have the mind of Messiah in all things. 1Cor.2 [16]… we have the mind of Messiah.
Personality traits: Your Godly Personality traits should be:
Gal.5 [22]…the fruit of the Spirit is
love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, [23] Meekness, temperance, helpers
of your joy, scourer (helper) of many…
2 Peter 1 has more attributes:
[5] And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and
to virtue knowledge;
[6] And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance
patience; and to patience godliness;
[7] And to godliness brotherly (and sisterly)
kindness; and to brotherly (and sisterly) kindness charity.
[8] For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah. [9] But he that lacks these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
Please understand:
Your personality is different than “what you physically like to do in your life”.
The activities you may enjoy may differ from many others.
What we physically like to do or not do - does not make us holy or unholy.
What I like to do will differ from you. What you do in your life may differ in many ways from me.
This has nothing to do with our Godly Personality, a new creature
in God.
We are individuals and what we may enjoy might be
different from many others.
This should be no problem.
Today’s topic:
Life is a
journey
We recently reviewed again,
spiritually speaking our 7 week journey during the feast of Weeks / Pentecost.
How is your journey in God going?
On your way you will meet many people
that seem prosperous, rich, not prosperous,
poor, etc…
Some may enjoy you, some may not.
Here are a few verses pertaining to
this topic.
Yeshua
said:
[23] Rejoice ye in that day, and
leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did
their fathers unto the prophets.
[24] But woe unto you that are rich! for
ye have received your consolation.
[25] Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger.
Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn
and weep.
[26] Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for
so did their fathers to the false prophets.
A few verses in Torah:
Deut.29 [9] Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.
Josh. 1 [7] Only be thou strong and very
courageous, that thou mayest
observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee:
turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that
thou may prosper whithersoever thou go.
[8] This book of the law shall not depart out of
thy mouth; but thou shalt
meditate therein day and night, that thou may observe to do according to all
that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way
prosperous, and then thou shalt
have good success.
[9] Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a
good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for Yehovah thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Judg.18 [5] And they said unto him, Ask
counsel, we pray thee, of God, that we may know
whether our way which we go shall be prosperous.
2Chr.32 [27] And Hezekiah had exceeding much riches and
honor: and he made himself treasuries for silver, and for gold, and for
precious stones, and for spices, and for shields, and for all manner of
pleasant jewels;
[28] Storehouses also for the increase of corn, and wine, and oil; and stalls
for all manner of beasts, and cotes for flocks.
[29] Moreover he provided him cities,
and possessions of flocks and herds in abundance: for God had given him
substance very much.
[30] This same Hezekiah also stopped the upper watercourse of Gihon, and brought it
straight down to the west side of the city of David. And Hezekiah prospered in
all his works.
Matt.16 [26] For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his
own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Some Psalms and Proverbs
Pss.1 [1] Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of
sinners, nor sitteth in
the seat of the scornful.
[2] But his delight is in the law of Yehovah; and in his law doth
he meditate day and night.[3] And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers
of water, that bringeth
forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Pss.35 [27] Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say
continually, Let Yehovah be
magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of
his servant. [28] And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of
thy praise all the day long.
Pss.118 [25] Save now, I beseech thee, O Yehovah: O Yehovah,
I beseech thee, send now prosperity.
Pss.122 [6] Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they
shall prosper that love thee.[7]
Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy
palaces.
[11] My son, despise not the chastening of Yehovah; neither be weary of
his correction:
[12] For whom Yehovah loveth he correcteth; even as a father
the son in whom he delighteth.
[13] Happy is
the man that findeth
wisdom, and the man that getteth
understanding.
[14] For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof
than fine gold.
[15] She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are
not to be compared unto her.
[16] Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.
[17] Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
[18] She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every
one that retaineth her.
Prov.10 [2] Treasures
of wickedness profit nothing: but
righteousness delivereth
from death.
Prov.11 [4] Riches
profit not in the day of wrath: but
righteousness delivereth
from death.
[16] A gracious woman retaineth honour: and strong men
retain riches.
[28] He that trusteth in his riches shall
fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.
Prov.17 [8] A gift is as a precious
stone in the eyes of him that hath it: whithersoever it turneth, it prospereth.
Ecc.5 [9] Moreover the
profit of the earth is for all: the
king himself is served by the field.
Ecc.10 [10] If
the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more
strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct.
[19] A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things.
Some Prophets
Jer.7 [8] Behold, ye trust
in lying words, that cannot profit.
Jer.2 [8] The priests said not, Where is Yehovah? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.
[11] Hath a nation changed their
gods, which are yet no gods? but
my people have changed their glory for that
which doth not profit.
Jer.12 [13] They
have sown wheat, but shall reap thorns: they have put themselves to pain, but
shall not profit: and they shall be ashamed of your revenues because of the
fierce anger of Yehovah.
where I had hid it: and, behold, the girdle was marred, it was
profitable for nothing.
Jer.16 [19] Yehovah,
my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the
Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have
inherited lies, vanity, and things
wherein there is no profit.
Jer.23 [32] Behold, I am against them that prophesy false
dreams, saith Yehovah, and do tell them, and cause my people to
err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded
them: therefore they shall not profit this people at
all, saith Yehovah.
Isa.44 [6] Thus saith Yehovah
the King of Israel, and his redeemer Yehovah
of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
[7] And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for
me, since I appointed the ancient people? and
the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them.
[8] Fear ye not, neither be
afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is
there a God beside me? yea,
there is no God; I know not any.
[9] They that make a graven image are all of them
vanity; and their delectable things shall not profit; and they are their own
witnesses; they see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed.
[10] Who hath formed a god, or molten a graven
image that is profitable for nothing?
[11] Behold, all his fellows shall be ashamed:
and the workmen, they are of men: let them all be gathered together, let them
stand up; yet they shall fear, and they shall be
ashamed together.
Some Gospels and letters
Matt.5 [27] Ye have heard that it was
said by them of old time, Thou shalt
not commit adultery:
[28] But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh
on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his
heart.
[29] And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from
thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of
thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into
hell.
[30] And if thy right hand offend thee, cut if off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members
should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
John 6 [63] It
is the spirit that quickeneth;
the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and
they are life.
Hab.2 [18] What profiteth
the graven image that the maker thereof hath graven it; the molten image, and a
teacher of lies, that the maker of his work trusteth therein, to make dumb idols?[19] Woe unto him that saith
to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it is
laid over with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of
it.
[20] But Yehovah is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.
1Cor.10 [31] Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all
to the glory of God.[32] Give
none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of
God: [33] Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit,
but the profit of many, that they may be saved.
1Tim.4 [7]… refuse
profane and old wives' fables, and exercise
thyself rather unto godliness.[8] For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is
profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and
of that which is to come.
[9] This is a faithful saying and worthy of all
acceptation.
[10] For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in
the living God, who is the Saviour
of all men, specially of those that
believe.
[11] These things
command and teach.
[12] Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in
conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
[13] Till I come, give attendance to reading, to
exhortation, to doctrine.
[14] Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which
was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
[15] Meditate upon these
things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy
profiting may appear to all.
[16] Take heed
unto thyself, and unto
the doctrine;
continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
2 Tim. 2 [7] Consider
what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.
[8] Remember that Yeshua the Messiah of the seed of David was
raised from the dead according to my gospel:
[9] Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer,
even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.
[10] Therefore I endure
all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also
obtain the salvation which is in Messiah Yeshua
with eternal glory.
[11] It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead
with him, we shall also live with him:
[12] If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will
deny us:
[13] If we believe not, yet he abideth
faithful: he cannot deny himself.
[14] Of these things put them in
remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting
of the hearers.
2 Tim. 3 [16] All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: [17] That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
Tit.3 [8] This
is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that
they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
Heb.4 [2] For
unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
Heb.13 [9] Be
not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing
that the heart be
established with grace; not with meats, which
have not profited them that have been occupied therein.
Jas.2 [14] What
doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he
hath faith, and have not works? can
faith save him?
[15] If a brother or sister be naked, and
destitute of daily food,
[16] And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled;
notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
[17] Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
