Today, we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s,

The date is May 7, 2022 (in the 21 Century)

May -- Maia's month

Old French Mai
Old English Maius
Latin Maius "of Maia"
Latin Maius mensis "month of Maia"

Maius has always had 31 days.

Maia (meaning "the great one") is the Italic goddess of spring, the daughter of Faunus, and wife of Vulcan.

The God of Israel has His own Calendar:

We are now in the second month of God called Zif, day 5, זִו   Ziv

ziv - brightness, (figuratively) the month of flowers

1 Kgs.6 [1] And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of Yehovah.

Coming Feast:

Feast of Weeks - June 12, Sunday a Sabbath - Hag Sh'vu-ot - חַג שָׁבֻעֹת

Feast of Harvest Hag ha katseer - חַג הַקָּצִיר

Pentecost πεντηκοστή - pentēkoste

Our seven week journey we observe, in memorial to meet God again on Mt. Sinai to receive the commandments and receive the Spirit of God.

From slaves in Egypt (our last lives of sin) to the people of God

The giving of the Law (10 commandments) and the giving of the Holy Spirit

We were told to count "Sabbaths" not omers.

An "omer" is a "sheaf" of barley - עמר omer  - A dry measure of 1/10 ephah (about 2 liters)

Lev.23 [15And you shall count unto you from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Sabbaths shall be complete:

[16] Even unto the morrow after the seventh Sabbath shall you number fifty days; and you shall offer a new meat offering unto Yehovah.

This Sabbath is the second Sabbath of the seven Sabbaths we were told to count.

How will you be behaving these 50 days? (Physically and Spiritually)

Today’s Topic:

Life is one big journey

 Beware of sin!

Is the God of Israel with you? Do you hear His voice?

Are you meeting God on His appointed times, His congregations, assemblies, seasons, feasts, solemnities, with His people?

Most of the world is all doing the wrong feasts, going to the wrong assemblies, meeting with the wrong people and gods.

In 40 years, it looks like they took many journeys

Let’s read:

Num.33 [1] These are the journeys of the children of Israel,

which went forth out of the land of Egypt with their armies under the hand of Moses and Aaron.

[2] And Moses wrote their goings out according to their journeys by the commandment of Yehovah: and these are their journeys according to their goings out.

[3] And they departed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the morrow after the Passover the children of Israel went out with an high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians.

[4] For the Egyptians buried all their firstborn, which Yehovah had smitten among them: upon their gods also Yehovah executed judgments.

[5] And the children of Israel removed from Ramesesand pitched in Succoth.

[6] And they departed from Succoth, and pitched in Etham, which is in the edge of the wilderness.
[7] And
they removed from Etham, and turned again unto Pi-hahiroth, which is before Baal-zephon: and they pitched before Migdol.

[8] And they departed from before Pi-hahiroth, and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness, and went three days' journey in the wilderness of Etham, and pitched in Marah.

[9] And they removed from Marah, and came unto Elim: and in Elim were twelve fountains of water, and threescore and ten palm trees; and they pitched there.

[10] And they removed from Elim, and encamped by the Red sea.

[11] And they removed from the Red sea, and encamped in the wilderness of Sin.

[12] And they took their journey out of the wilderness of Sin, and encamped in Dophkah.

[13] And they departed from Dophkah, and encamped in Alush.

[14] And they removed from Alush, and encamped at Rephidimwhere was no water for the people to drink.

[15] And they departed from Rephidim, and pitched in the wilderness of Sinai.

[16] And they removed from the desert of Sinai, and pitched at Kibroth-hattaavah.

[17] And they departed from Kibroth-hattaavah, and encamped at Hazeroth.

[18] And they departed from Hazeroth, and pitched in Rithmah.
[19] And
they departed from Rithmah, and pitched at Rimmon-parez.

[20] And they departed from Rimmon-parez, and pitched in Libnah.

[21] And they removed from Libnah, and pitched at Rissah.

[22] And they journeyed from Rissah, and pitched in Kehelathah.

[23] And they went from Kehelathah, and pitched in mount Shapher.

[24] And they removed from mount Shapher, and encamped in Haradah.

[25] And they removed from Haradah, and pitched in Makheloth.

[26] And they removed from Makheloth, and encamped at Tahath.

[27] And they departed from Tahath, and pitched at Tarah.

[28] And they removed from Tarah, and pitched in Mithcah.

[29] And they went from Mithcah, and pitched in Hashmonah.

[30] And they departed from Hashmonah, and encamped at Moseroth.

[31] And they departed from Moseroth, and pitched in Bene-jaakan.

[32] And they removed from Bene-jaakan, and encamped at Hor-hagidgad.

[33] And they went from Hor-hagidgad, and pitched in Jotbathah.

[34] And they removed from Jotbathah, and encamped at Ebronah.

[35] And they departed from Ebronah, and encamped at Ezion-gaber.

[36] And they removed from Ezion-gaber, and pitched in the wilderness of Zin, which is Kadesh.

[37] And they removed from Kadesh, and pitched in mount Hor, in the edge of the land of Edom.

[38] And
Aaron the priest went up into mount Hor at the commandment of Yehovah, and died there, in the fortieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the first day of the fifth month.

[39] And Aaron was an hundred and twenty and three years old when he died in mount Hor.  123 years old

[40] And king Arad the Canaanite, which dwelt in the south in the land of Canaan, “heard of the coming of the children of Israel”.

[41] And they departed from mount Hor, and pitched in Zalmonah.
[42] And
they departed from Zalmonah, and pitched in Punon.
[43] And
they departed from Punon, and pitched in Oboth.
[44] And
they departed from Oboth, and pitched in Ije-abarim, in the border of Moab.
[45] And
they departed from Iim, and pitched in Dibon-gad.
[46] And
they removed from Dibon-gad, and encamped in Almon-diblathaim.
[47] And
they removed from Almon-diblathaim, and pitched in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo.

[48] And they departed from the mountains of Abarimand pitched in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho.

[49And they pitched by Jordan, from Beth-jesimoth even unto Abel-shittim in the plains of Moab.

[50] And Yehovah spoke unto Moses in the
plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying,

[51] Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When you are passed over Jordan into the land of Canaan;

[52] Then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their pictures, and destroy all their molten images, and quite pluck down all their high places:
[53] And you shall dispossess the inhabitants of the land, and dwell therein: for I have given you the land to possess it.
[54] And you shall divide the land by lot for an inheritance among your families: and to the more you shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer you shall give the less inheritance: every man's inheritance shall be in the place where his lot
falls; according to the tribes of your fathers you shall inherit.
[55] But if you will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which you let remain of them
shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein you dwell.[56] Moreover it shall come to pass, that I shall do unto you, as I thought to do unto them.

Above - This is the way Israel is today 2022

Num.34 [1] And Yehovah spoke unto Moses, saying,
[2] Command the children of Israel, and say unto them,
When you come into the land of Canaan; (this is the land that shall fall unto you for an inheritance, even the land of Canaan with the coasts thereof:)

[3] Then your south quarter shall be from the wilderness of Zin along by the coast of Edom, and your south border shall be the outmost coast of the salt sea eastward:
[4] And your border shall turn from the south to the ascent of
Akrabbim, and pass on to Zin: and the going forth thereof shall be from the south to Kadesh-barnea, and shall go on to Hazar-addar, and pass on to Azmon:
[5] And the border shall fetch a compass from
Azmon unto the river of Egypt, and the goings out of it shall be at the sea.

[6] And as for the western border, you shall even have the great sea for a border: this shall be your west border.

[7] And this shall be your north border: from the great sea you shall point out for you mount Hor:
[8] From mount
Hor you shall point out your border unto the entrance of Hamath; and the goings forth of the border shall be to Zedad:
[9] And the border shall go on to
Ziphron, and the goings out of it shall be at Hazar-enan: this shall be your north border.

[10] And you shall point out your east border from Hazar-enan to Shepham:
[11] And the coast shall go down from
Shepham to Riblah, on the east side of Ain; and the border shall descend, and shall reach unto the side of the sea of Chinnereth eastward:
[12] And the border shall go down to Jordan, and the goings out of it shall be at the salt sea:
this shall be your land with the coasts thereof round about.

**Sad, they do not have the whole land today due to disobedience, sin.

Life is a short journey, Fear God

Beware of sin!

Ecc.9 [18] Wisdom is better than weapons of war: but one sinner destroys much good.

Num. 32 [23] …you have sinned against Yehovah: and be sure your sin will find you out.

Scripture says of our time here:

Pss.90

[10] The days of our years are threescore years and ten 70; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years 80, yet is their strength labor and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

Job 7

[7] O remember that my life is wind

[8] The eye of him that hath seen me shall see me no more: your eyes are upon me, and I am not.

[9] As the cloud is consumed and vanishes away: so he that goes down to the grave shall come up no more.

[10] He shall return no more to his house; neither shall his place know him any more

Job 8

[9] For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow…

Pss.90

[9] For all our days are passed away in your wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told.

[12] So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

[14] O satisfy us early with your mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

Jas. 4

[13] Go to now, you that say, today or tomorrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:

[14] Whereas you know not what shall be on the morrow.

For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away.

Matt.6 - Yeshua said:

[25] Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; nor yet for your body, what you shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

[26] Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they?

[27] Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

[28] And why take you thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

[29] And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

[30] Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

[31] Therefore take no thought, saying, what shall we eat? Or, what shall we drink? Or, Wherewithal shall we be cloth?

[32] (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek :) for your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things.

[33] But seek you first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

[34] Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Prov.15 [24] the way of life is above to the wise that he may depart from hell beneath.

Col.3 - Saul says:

[1] If you then be raised with Messiah, seek those things which are above, where Messiah sits on the right hand of God.
[2] Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

[3] For you are dead, and your life is hid with Messiah in God.

[4] When Messiah, who is our life, shall appear, then shall you also appear with him in glory.

Heb.9 [27] And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment…

1Chr.29 … our days on the earth are as a shadow…

A short review of Ecclesiastes:

קֹהֶלֶת - preacher

הֲבֵל הֲבָלִים

Vanity of vanities

הָבַל

hâval A primitive root; to be vain in act, word, or expectation; specifically to lead astray: - be (become, make) vain.

Ecc. 1:

2 - Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher / Kohelethvanity of vanities, all is vanity.

הֲבֵל הֲבָלִים אָמַר קֹהֶלֶת, הֲבֵל הֲבָלִים הַכֹּל הָבֶל

[4] One generation passes away, and another generation comes: but the earth (seems like it) abides forever.

[11] There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after.

[12] I the Preacher was king over Israel in Jerusalem.  Solomon

[13] And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith.

[14] I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.

[15] That which is crooked cannot be made straight: and that which is wanting cannot be numbered.

[16] I communed with mine own heart, saying, Lo, I am come to great estate, and have gotten more wisdom than all they that have been before me in Jerusalem: yea, my heart had great experience of wisdom and knowledge.

[17] And I gave my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly: I perceived that this also is vexation of spirit.

[18] For in much wisdom is much grief:

and he that increases knowledge increases sorrow.

Ecc. 2: [15] Then said I in my heart, As it happens to the fool, so it happens even to me; and why was I then more wise? Then I said in my heart, that this also is vanity.

[16] For there is no remembrance of the wise more than of the fool for ever; seeing that which now is in the days to come shall all be forgotten.

And how dies the wise manAs the fool…

[17] Therefore I hated life; because the work that is wrought under the sun is grievous unto me: for all is vanity and vexation of spirit.

[18] Yea, I hated all my labor which I had taken under the sun: because I should leave it unto the man that shall be after me.

[19] And who knows whether he shall be a wise man or a fool? Yet shall he have rule over all my labor wherein I have labored, and wherein I have showed myself wise under the sun. This is also vanity.

[24] There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labor. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God.

[26] For God gives to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy:

but to the sinner he gives travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.

Ecc.3

[1] To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

[2] A time to be born, and a time to die… and all the rest

[18] I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.

[19] For that which befalls the sons of men befalls beasts; even one thing befalls them: as the one dies, so dies the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.

[20] All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.

[21] Who knows the spirit of man that goes upward, and the spirit of the beast that gosh downward to the earth?

[22] Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?

Ecc.6

[1] There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, and it is common among men:
[2] A man to whom God hath given riches, wealth, and honor, so that he wants nothing for his soul of all that he desire, yet God gives him not power to eat thereof, but a stranger eats it:
this is vanity, and it is an evil disease.

[3] If a man beget an hundred children, and live many years, so that the days of his years be many, and his soul be not filled with good, and also that he have no burial; I say, that an untimely birth is better than he.

[4] For he comes in with vanity, and departs in darkness, and his name shall be covered with darkness.

[5] Moreover he hath not seen the sun, nor known any thing: this hath more rest than the other.

[6] Yea, though he lives a thousand years twice told, yet hath he seen no good: do not all go to one place? – The grave

Ecc.7

[1] A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth.

[2] It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart.

[18] It is good that you should take hold of this; yea, also from this withdraw not your hand: for he that fears God shall come forth of them all.

Ecc.8

[1] Who is as the wise man? And who knows the interpretation of a thing? A man's wisdom makes his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed.

[2] I counsel you to keep the king's commandment, and that in regard of the oath of God.

[3] Be not hasty to go out of his sight: stand not in an evil thing; for he doeth whatsoever pleases him.

[4] Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What are you doing?

[5] Whoso keeps the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man's heart discerns both time and judgment.

[6] Because to every purpose there is time and judgment, therefore the misery of man is great upon him.

[7] For he knows not that which shall be: for who can tell him when it shall be?

[8] There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it.

[10] And so I saw the wicked buried, who had come and gone from the place of the holy, and they were forgotten in the city where they had so done: this is also vanity.

[11] Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

[12] Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged,

Yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him:

[13] But it shall not be well with the wicked; neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he fears not before God.

[15] Then I commended mirth, because a man hath no better thing under the sun, than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry: for that shall abide with him of his labor the days of his life, which God gives him under the sun.

 Ecc. 9:

[2] All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrifices, and to him that sacrifices not: as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that swears, as he that fears an oath.

[4] For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.

[5] For the living knows that they shall die: but the dead know not anything, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.

[6] Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion forever in anything that is done under the sun.

[7] Go your way, eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart; for God now accepts your works.

[8] Let your garments be always white; and let your head lack no ointment.

[9] Live joyfully with the wife whom you love all the days of the life of your vanity, which he hath given you under the sun, all the days of your vanity: for that is your portion in this life, and in your labor which you take under the sun.

[10] Whatsoever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, where you go.

[11] I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happens to them all.

[12] For man also knows not his time:

As the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falls suddenly upon them.

Ecc. 12

[1] Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when you shall say, I have no pleasure in them;
[2] While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:

[3] In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,

[4] And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of music shall be brought low;

[5] Also when they shall be afraid of that, which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail:

Because man goes to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:

[6] Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.

[7] Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

[8] Vanity of vanities, says the preacher; all is vanity.

[9] And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs.

[10] The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.

[11] The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.

[12] And further, by these, my son,(and daughter) be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

[13] Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.[14] For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it is good, or whether it is evil.

In closing for today:

Beware of sin!

Life is one big journey with good, bad and sad times, beware of sin.

Fear God and Keep His commandments which are our duty to do!
