Janus is the Roman god of gates and doorways, depicted with two faces looking in opposite directions. His festival month is January. Januarius had 29 days, until Julius when it became 31 days long.

2Kgs.14

[6] But the children of the murderers Amaziah king of Judah slew not: according unto that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, wherein the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

1Chr.20

Psalm 82

Ezra 2

[61] And of the children of the priests: the children of Habaiah, the children of Koz, the children of Barzillai; which took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was called after their name:
[62] These sought their register among those that were reckoned by genealogy, but they were not found: therefore were they, as polluted, put from the priesthood.

Matt.8

[40] As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
[41] The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
[42] And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
[43] Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

 

Matt.23

[29] Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchers of the righteous,
[30] And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
[31] Wherefore you be witnesses unto yourselves, that you are the children of them which killed the prophets.

 

Luke.6

[35]… love you your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and you shall be the children of the Highest: for He, God is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

 

Luke.16

[8] …the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

 

Luke 20

The Sadducees (they don’t believe in the resurrection) said:

[33] … in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife.
[34] And Yeshua answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:
[35] But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:
[36] Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.

John 11

[49] And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,
[50] Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.

[51] And this spoke he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Yeshua should die for that nation;
[52] And not for that nation only, but that also He should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.

 

John.12

[35] Then Yeshua said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walks in darkness knows not whither he gos.
[36] While you have light, believe in the light, that you may be the children of light.

 

Acts.3

[25] You are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.
[26] Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Yeshua, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

 

Rom.8

[16] The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: [17] And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Messiah; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

[20] … the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,[21] because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

Rom. 9

[8] … they which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

[26] And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, You are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.

 

Gal.4

[28] Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.

[29] But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

[30] Nevertheless what says the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.

[31] So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.

 

Eph.2

[1] And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
[2] Wherein in time past you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience:

[3] Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others

 

Eph.5

[6] Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

[7] Be not you therefore partakers with them.

[8] For you were sometimes darkness, but now are you light in the Lord: walk as children of light…

 

1Thes. 5

[4] But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
[5] You are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

 

1 John 3

 [7] Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
[8] He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
[9] Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

[10] In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother.

 

1 John 5

[2] By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

 

2 John 1

[13] The children of thy elect sister greet thee. Amen.

 

In closing for today:

You should be able to see the difference between the children of God and the children of the devil. The people in the scriptures really bring this out.

May we all be the children of Light, children of the Resurrection
