שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם

Shabbat Shalom again

Today we are still using the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s

June 29, 2024

June -- Juno's month

Latin Junius mensis "month of Juno"

Junius had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius when it became 30 days long.

Juno is the principle goddess of the Roman Pantheon. She is the goddess of marriage and the well-being of women. She is the wife and sister of Jupiter. She is identified with the Greek goddess Hera.

We acknowledge Yehovah’s calendar, the third month, Sivan

Esth.8 [9Then were the king's scribes called at that time in the third month, that is, the month Sivanסִיוָן

 Today’s Topic:

מַלְכִּי-צֶדֶק

Melchizedek - Melchisedec is a priest and means my king is righteous

Shadow of Messiah's offices

King and Priest

The "priestly" line of succession in Israel, according to God's Torah, was different from the "kingly" line. The kings were to descend from the tribe of Judah, whereas the priests were to be of the tribe of Levi. The High Priest was selected from the household of Aaron.

Messiah was to be both a King and a High Priest.

It would appear impossible for the Messiah to lay claim to both offices, since He would have to be from both the tribes of Judah and Levi the unbelievers say.

However that obstacle is overcome because His, Messiah's priesthood is not of the order of the Levitical priesthood, but of the order of the Melchizedek priesthood.

Melchizedek - Melchisedec = My King is Righteous מַלְכִּי-צֶדֶק

Examples of my king:

Pss.2 [6Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
[7] I will declare the decree: Yehovah hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

Pss.5[2] Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: unto thee will I pray.

Pss.44[4] Thou art my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob.

Pss.68[24] They have seen thy goings, O God; even the goings of my God, my King, in the sanctuary.

Pss.74[12] For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.

Pss.84[3] Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.

bread and wine: symbolic of the body and blood of Messiah

Gen.14 [18] And Melchizedek king of Salem, brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. [19] And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:[20] And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes, (10th) of all.

Psalm 110: [1Yehovah said unto my Lord(Messiah) Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

[2Yehovah shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.

[3] Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.

[4Yehovah hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou (Messiah) art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek

[5] The Lord (Messiah) at thy (the Father's) right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.

[6] He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries.
[7] He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.

Peter said:

Acts.4:[25] Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things? [26] The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against Yehovah, and against his Messiah. [27] For of a truth against thy holy child Yeshua, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,[28] For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.

Pss.2

[1] Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
[2] The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against
Yehovah, and against his anointed, (Messiah) saying,
[3] Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
[4] He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
[5] Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
[6] Yet have I set my king (Messiah) upon my holy hill of Zion.
[7] I will declare the decree: Yehovah hath said unto me(Messiah) Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

Acts 13 [33] God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Yeshua again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.

Pss.2 [7] I will declare the decree: Yehovah hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

Heb.5[5] So also Messiah glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, today have I begotten thee.

[8] Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
[9] Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
[10] Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
[11] Serve Yehovah with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
[12Kiss the Son, lest he (Messiah) be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his (Messiah) wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him. (Messiah)

Heb.5 [6As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec

[10] Called of God an high priest after the order of MelchisedecPsalm 110:4

Heb.6 :20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Yeshua, made an high priest for ever after the order of MelchisedecPsalm 110:4

Heb.7 [1] For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;
[2] To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;
[3] Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.
[4] Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.
[5] And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham:
[6] But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises.
[7] And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better.
[8] And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.
[9] And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham.
[10] For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him.
[11] If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?
[12] For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.
[13] For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.
[14] For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.
[15] And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,
[16] Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.
[17] For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
 Psalm 110:4
[18For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.
[19] For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.
[20] And inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest:
[21] (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, Yehovah sware and will not repent, You are a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)
 Psalm 110:4
[22By so much was Yeshua made a surety of a better testament.
[23] And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:
[24] But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.
[25] Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
[26] For such an high priest became (
He for) us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
[27] Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.
[28] For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.

Part 2

You are a God that hides Yourself

Started in: Deut.31

Deut.31 [17] Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that day. Are not these evils come upon us, because our God is not among us?[18] And I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evils which they shall have wrought, in that they are turned unto other gods.

Deut.32 [20] And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.

Isa.45 [15] Verily You are a God that hides Yourself, O God of Israel, the Savior.

Pss.10 [1] Why do you stand afar off, O Yehovah?

Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?

Pss.55 [1] Give ear to my prayer, O God; and hide not from my supplication.

Pss.89 [46] How long, Yehovah? Will you hide yourself forever?

[47] Remember how short my time is: Wherefore have you made all men in vain?

[48] What man is he that lives, and shall not see death? Shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? Selah.
[49]
Lord, where are your former loving kindnesses which you swore unto David in your truth?

Isa.54 [8] In a little wrath I hid my face from you for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on you, said Yehovah you Redeemer.

Jer.33 [5] They come to fight with the Chaldeans, but it is fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have slain in mine anger and in my fury, and for all whose wickedness I have hid my face from this city.

Ezek.39 [24] According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions have I done unto them, and hid my face from them.

[29] Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, said the Lord Yehovah.     אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה

Pss.4 [1] Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: you have enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.

Pss.39 [12] Hear my prayer, O Yehovah, and give ear unto my cry; hold not your peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.

Pss.54 [2] Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.

Pss.84 [8] O Yehovah God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.

Pss.102 [1] Hear my prayer, O Yehovah, and let my cry come unto thee.

Pss.143 [1] Hear my prayer, O Yehovah, give ear to my supplications: in your faithfulness answer me, and in your righteousness.
