God has His own
calendar
We are now in the
11th month - the month Sh'vat ( Sebat ), 17th day
Zech. 1 [7] Upon the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month,
which is the month Sebat
------------
Why are we here
today?
The 4th Commandment
is a part of the covenant given to us at mount
Sinai
We read from law
and the prophets every Sabbath
60 times in the Gospels and letters it uses the word
Sabbath
Acts 13 [13] Now when Paul
and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: and John
departing from them returned to Jerusalem.[14] But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia,
and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and
sat down.[15] And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of
the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any word
of exhortation for the people, say on.
[27] For they that dwell at
Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of
the prophets which are read every sabbath
day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.
[42] And when the Jews were gone
out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached
to them the next sabbath.
[44]And the next sabbath
day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God
Acts 15 [21] For Moses of old time hath in every city
them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.
Luke 4 [16] And he, Yeshua / Jesus came to Nazareth, where he had been brought
up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.[17] And there was
delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias.
Exod. 31 [13] Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying,
Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep : for it is a sign between me and you throughout your
generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.
[16] Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath
throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant .
[17] It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six
days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was
refreshed.
Ezek. 20 [12] Moreover
also I gave them my sabbaths,
to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that
sanctify them.
[20] And hallow my sabbaths;
and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the
LORD your God.
Luke.23 [56] And
they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.
Matt.24 [20] But pray ye that your flight be not in the
winter, neither on the sabbath day:

God's covenant
How lives can be
changed by the Lord
From slaves to the
people of God again
In the
first month
Exod. 12
[1] And the LORD spake
unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,
[2] This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the
first month of the year to you.
[37] And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that
were men, beside children.
[38] And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and
herds, even very much cattle.
[39] And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they brought
forth out of Egypt, for it was not leavened; because they were thrust out of
Egypt, and could not tarry, neither had they prepared for themselves any
victual.
[40] Now the sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt,
was four hundred and thirty years.
[41] And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty
years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the LORD
went out from the land of Egypt.
[42] It is a night to be much observed unto the LORD for bringing them
out from the land of Egypt: this is that night of the LORD to be observed of
all the children of Israel in their generations.
[43] And the LORD said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of
the passover: There shall no stranger eat thereof:
[44] But every man's servant that is bought for money, when thou hast
circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof.
[45] A foreigner and an hired servant shall not
eat thereof.
[46] In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt
not carry forth ought of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall ye
break a bone thereof.
[47] All the congregation of Israel shall keep it.
[48] And when a stranger shall sojourn with
thee, and will keep the passover to the LORD, let all
his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall
be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat
thereof.
[49] One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth
among you.
[50] Thus did all the children of Israel; as the LORD
commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.
[51] And it came to pass the selfsame day, that
the LORD did bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their
armies.
Exod.13 [3] And
Moses said unto the people, Remember this day,
in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength
of hand the LORD brought you out from this place: there shall no leavened bread
be eaten.
[4] This day came ye out in the month Abib.
Salvation (Yeshua) cometh in the third day in the morning
Exod. 14 [24] And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the LORD looked unto the host of
the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the
host of the Egyptians,
[27] And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and
the sea returned to his strength when the morning
appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the
Egyptians in the midst of the sea.
Pss.
30 [5] For his anger endureth
but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
----------
in the
morning - a covenant given to us
Exod.19 [1] In the third month, when the children of Israel were
gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness
of Sinai.
if
and then statement
[5] Now therefore, if ye
will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then
ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me
above all people: for all the earth is mine: [6] And
ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy
nation. These are the words which thou shalt
speak unto the children of Israel.
Peter talking to
the "strangers" (which believe now)
with the same words as the Lord told Moses to tell the children of Israel.
Peter
knowing the same understanding as in Ex. 12:48-49 above - ONE LAW for all!
1Pet. 1 [1] Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the
strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
1Pet. 2 [9] But ye are a chosen generation, a royal
priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of
darkness into his marvellous light: [10] Which in
time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not
obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
In the third day, third month - Sivan
back to Exod. 19
[11] And be ready
against the third day: for the third day
the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.
[15] And he said unto the people, Be ready against the third day:
come not at your wives.
[16] And it came to pass on the third day in
the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings,
and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud;
so that all the people that was in the camp trembled.
[17] And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with
God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount.
[18] And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke,
because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as
the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.
[19] And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long,
and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God
answered him by a voice.
[20] And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai,
on the top of the mount: and the LORD called Moses up to the top of the mount;
and Moses went up.
The Lord
"spoke" on the third day
He declared unto us
His covenant, which He
commanded you to perform, even ten commandments
The covenant - The ten
Commandments
Exod.20
Commandment 1
[1] And God spake all
these words, saying,
[2] I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of
Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
[3] Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Commandment 2
[4] Thou shalt not make
unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing
that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the
water under the earth:
[5] Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them,
nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity
of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them
that hate me;
[6] And shewing mercy unto thousands of them
that love me, and keep my commandments.
Commandment 3
[7] Thou shalt not take
the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless
that taketh his name in vain.
Commandment 4
[8] Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
[9] Six days shalt thou labour,
and do all thy work:
[10] But the seventh day is the sabbath of the
LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou,
nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy
cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
[11] For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all
that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Commandment 5
[12] Honour thy father
and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Commandment 6
[13] Thou shalt not
kill.
Commandment 7
[14] Thou shalt not
commit adultery.
Commandment 8
[15] Thou shalt not
steal.
Commandment 9
[16] Thou shalt not bear
false witness against thy neighbour.
Commandment 10
[17] Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's
wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any
thing that is thy neighbour's.
[22] And the LORD
said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the
children of Israel,
Ye have seen that I
have talked with you from heaven.
[23] Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither
shall ye make unto you gods of gold.
Deut. 4 [12] And
the LORD spake unto you out of the midst of the fire:
ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only ye heard a
voice.
[13] And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of
stone.
[14] And the LORD commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and
judgments, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go over to possess it.
[15] Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner
of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you
in Horeb out of the midst of the fire:
[16] Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the
similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,
[17] The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any
winged fowl that flieth in the air,
[18] The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in
the waters beneath the earth:
[19] And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto
heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon,
and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest
be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided
unto all nations under the whole heaven.
[20] But the LORD hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron
furnace, even out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are
this day.

Salvation again on the third day - in the
morning
Matt. 16 [21] From that
time forth began Yeshua / Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto
Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes,
and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
Mark. 16 [2] And very early in the morning the first day of the week,
they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the
sun.
[9] Now when Yeshua / Jesus was risen early the
first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had
cast seven devils.
--------
the third month - Sivan
again
Pentecost - Spirit given / the feast of weeks
- as was the Law given on mount Sinai.
Exod. 34 [22] And thou shalt observe the feast of
weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest,
Acts.2
[1] And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one
place.
[2] And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty
wind, and it filled all the house where they were
sitting.
[3] And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it
sat upon each of them.
[4] And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak
with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
14] But Peter, standing up with
the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all
ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
[15] For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the
third hour of the day.
[16] But this is that which was spoken by the
prophet Joel;
[17] And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith
God,I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see
visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
[18] And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those
days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
[19] And I will shew wonders in heaven above,
and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour
of smoke:
[20] The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood,
before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
[21] And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of
the Lord shall be saved.
Pentecost
- Feast of Weeks still kept after the resurrection of Messiah Yeshua
Acts. 20 [16] For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus,
because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he
hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.
1Cor. 16 [8] But I
will tarry at Ephesus until Pentecost.
--------------
Hos. 6
[1] Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he
will bind us up.
[2] After two days will he revive us: in the third day
he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.
[3] Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as
the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former
rain unto the earth.

"At the Time of Our Lord"
When did Yeshua - Jesus die?
The Spring Feasts
of the Lord were fulfilled by the Messiah's first coming!
Passover
- Pesach
Feast of
Unleavened Bread / Hag HaMatzah
Day of Firstfruits / Bikkurim
Feast of
Weeks / Hag Shavuot - Pentecost
Passover - Pesach
Nisan 14 - Yeshua died on
Thursday at 3:00 pm Matt:27:45 - 1st. day
Remembering the deliverance from Egyptian bondage. An unblemished firstborn male lamb was sacrificed and its blood poured on
the altar. A lamb was selected for each family, and four days before the lamb
was to be slain it was brought into the home for a four-day examination
period. Yeshua
/ Jesus is the sacrificial lamb who died for our sins.
On Nisan 14 at the exact time the lamb was to be slain, Jesus was slain. Yeshua / Jesus also had a four-day examination period
before the religious leaders and was found without
blemish.
Feast of Unleavened Bread / Hag HaMatzah
Nisan 15 - a Sabbath - 1st. night- 2nd day (Fri.)
Luke. 23 [56] And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and
rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.
Leaven symbolizes sin. Unleavened Bread speaks of
sanctification. God told the Jews to cleanse all leaven from their homes and
eat only unleavened bread, matzah, for seven days,
symbolizing a holy walk with Him. Jesus is the "Bread of Life"
without sin. Born in Bethlehem. In Hebrew, Bethlehem
means house of bread. Just as matzah is unleavened, ( sign of no sin ) so was the Messiah sinless. This Feast
falls on the day Yeshua / Jesus was buried.
Nisan 16 - the weekly Sabbath - 2nd. night - 3nd. day (Sat.)
Day of Firstfruits /
Bikkurim
Nisan 17 - 3rd. night,
Nisan 17 then as the sun did rise - Mark 16:2
early the first day of
the week, Sunday -Yeshua rose from the Dead which is
3 days and 3 nights later
The first of the barley harvest was brought as an offering
to the priest in the Tabernacle / Temple. The priest would present the first of
the harvest unto the Lord by waving them back and forth. This reminded the
Hebrews that God gave them the land, and the harvest belonged to Him. 1 Cor.
15:20-23). Yeshua / Jesus' resurrection marked the
beginning of the harvest of souls. John 12:23-24,32
shows Yeshua / Jesus was likened to a grain of wheat
falling to the ground and dying to produce a great harvest. Jesus rose on Firstfruits. ( a Sunday )
Fifty day later is the Feast of Weeks / Shavuot-
Pentecost where the Holy Spirit empowered the believers.
