Today, we sadly use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s.

 

December - the 10 month – now the 12 month

Latin december "tenth month"

December had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius when it became 31 days long.

Yehovah has His own calendar which is deleted from the world 

 

We are now in the 10^th month called Teveth, day 16 - Esther 2:16 - in English, scripture calls it Tebeth.

 

Today’s topic:

Our God is forgotten

 

 

This last week I was talking to my niece explaining to her the many things of God that are forgotten.

 

 

Atheists make up a larger share of the population in many European countries than they do in the U.S.

 

In the U.S., atheists are mostly men and are relatively young, according to the 2014 Religious Landscape Study.

 

About seven-in-ten U.S. atheists are men (68%).

The median age for atheists is 34, compared with 46 for all U.S. adults.

Atheists also are more likely to be white (78% vs. 66% of the general public) and highly educated: About four-in-ten atheists (43%) have a college degree, compared with 27% of the general public.

Self-identified atheists also tend to be aligned with the Democratic Party and with political liberalism.

Most Americans (56%) say it is not necessary to believe in God to be moral, while 42% say belief in God is necessary to have good values, according to a 2017 survey.

 

 

Some things that are forgotten:

The real God of Israel is forgotten

God’s feasts and holy days are forgotten

God’s Sabbaths are forgotten

God’s commandments are forgotten

God’s calendar is forgotten

God’s new year is forgotten

God’s pure word is forgotten

Jer.2 [32] Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire?  Yet my people have forgotten me days without number.

Jer.13 [25] This is your lot, the portion of your measures from me, said Yehovah; because you have forgotten me, and trusted in falsehood

Jer.23 [23] Am I a God at hand, said Yehovah, and not a God afar off?
[24] Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? said Yehovah. Do not I fill heaven and earth? said Yehovah.
[25] I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.
[26] How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart;
[27] Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal.

 

Lam.2 [6] … Yehovah had caused the solemn feasts and sabbaths to be forgotten in Zion…

Ezek.22 [12] In you have they taken gifts to shed blood; you have taken usury and increase, and you have greedily gained of your neighbors by extortion, and have forgotten me, said Yehovah GOD.

Ezek.23 [35] Therefore thus said Yehovah GOD; Because you have forgotten me, and cast me behind your back, therefore bear you also your lewdness and your whoredoms.

Hos.4 [6] My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you shall be no priest to me: seeing you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children.

Hos.8 [14] For Israel had forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.

Zeph.1

[10] But the seventh day is the sabbath of Yehovah your God: in it you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger that is within your gates:
[11] For in six days Yehovah made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Yehovah blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

A History of the Months we use and the Meanings of their Names:

The original Roman year had 10 named months Martius "March", Aprilis "April", Maius "May", Junius "June", Juintilis "July", Sextilis "August", September, October , November, December, and probably two unnamed months in the dead of winter when not much happened in agriculture.

 

The year began with Martius "March".

Numa Pompilius, the second king of Rome circa 700 BC, added the two months Januarius "January" and Februarius "February".

He also moved the beginning of the year from Marius to Januarius and changed the number of days in several months to be odd, a lucky number.

After Februarius there was occasionally an additional month of Intercalaris "intercalendar". This is the origin of the leap-year day being in February.

In 46 BC, Julius Caesar reformed the Roman calendar (hence the Julian calendar) changing the number of days in many months and removing Intercalaris.

The Gregorian calendar is the calendar used in most parts of the world. 

It went into effect in October 1582 following the papal bull Inter gravissimas issued by Pope Gregory XIII, which introduced it as a modification of, and replacement for, the Julian calendar.

Inter gravissimas (English: "Among the most serious...") was a papal bull issued by Pope Gregory XIII on 24 February 1582. The document, written in Latin, reformed the Julian calendar. The reform came to be regarded as a new calendar in its own right and came to be called the Gregorian calendar, which is used in most countries today

A papal bull is a type of public decree, letters patent, or charter issued by a pope of the Catholic Church. It is named after the leaden seal (bulla) traditionally appended to authenticate it.

 

January - Janus is the Roman god of gates and doorways, depicted with two faces looking in opposite directions. His festival month is January.

February - Februa is the Roman festival of purification, held on February fifteenth. It is possibly of Sabine origin.

March - Mars is the Roman god of war. He is identified with the Greek god Ares.

April - Aphrodite is the Greek goddess of love and beauty. She is identified with the Roman goddess Venus.

May - Maia (meaning "the great one") is the Italic goddess of spring, the daughter of Faunus, and wife of Vulcan.

June - Juno is the principle goddess of the Roman Pantheon. She is the goddess of marriage and the well-being of women. She is the wife and sister of Jupiter. She is identified with the Greek goddess Hera.

 

July - Julius Caesar's month - August - Augustus Caesar's month

September - the seventh month - today the 9th month

October - the eighth month - today the 10th month

November - the ninth month - today the 11th month

December - the tenth month - today the 12th month

 

God’s feasts and holy day are replaced

There is a Santa Claus and he is a merry old man with red and white clothes

He fills socks or stockings with presents on the night of December 24th.

He knows when you're awake

 

He knows if you've been bad or good

necromancy - The practice of supposedly communicating with the spirits of the dead in order to predict the future, Black magic; sorcery, Magic qualities.

Charmer: One who casts spells; an enchanter or magician.

Wizard: One who practices magic; a sorcerer or magician.

Divination: The are or act of foretelling future events or revealing occult knowledge by means of augury, (the are, ability, or practice of auguring; divination, A sign of something coming; an omen: “The chartist buys when the auguries look favorable and sells on bad omens”), or an alleged supernatural agency.

Soothsayer: One who claims to be able to foretell events or predict the future; a seer.

Sorcery: The use of supernatural power over others through the assistance of spirits, witchcraft. 

Divination by the assistance, or supposed assistance, of evil spirits, or the power of commanding evil spirits; magic; necromancy; witchcraft; enchantment.

Witchcraft: Magic, sorcery

Wicca: a magical or irresistible influence, attraction, or charm

The practice or are of witches, sorcery; enchantments; evil actions with evil spirits, powers more than natural; an irresistible influence

Astrologers - the divination of the supposed influences of the stars and planets on human affairs and terrestrial events by their positions and aspects – stargazers

 

Once upon a time, Christmas was banned in 1659 in the new land know as America

Soon it will be Pope Gregory’s New Year form the 1500’s

 

God has his own New Year in Spring

Exod.12 [2] This month (Abib – ha Aviv) shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.
