Aprilis had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius when it became 30 days long.

Today’s Topic:
People shut their eyes
They, the people have shut their eyes, ears and mind to God and
His commandments.
A few verses:
Matt.13 [13] Therefore speak I to
them in parables: "because they" seeing
see not; and "hearing "they" hear not, neither do
"they" understand.
[14]
And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which
said, By hearing you shall hear, and shall not
understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
[15]
For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of
hearing , and their eyes they have closed; lest
at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and
should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal
them.
Mark 4 [11] And he / Yeshua said
unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but
unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables :[12] That seeing they may see,
and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any
time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.
[13] And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?
What is a parable?
In short, a parable is a story to explain, in
many different ways, a point or a theme so that people can relate or understand
what is being said.
Pss.49 [1] Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye
inhabitants of the world:
[2] Both low and high, rich and poor, together.
[3] My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall
be of understanding.
[4] I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.’
Pss.78 [1] Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your
ears to the words of my mouth.[2] I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:[3] Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have
told us.
H4910 - A primitive root; to rule: - (have, make
to have) dominion, governor, indeed, reign, (bear, cause to, have) rule (-ing, -r), have power.
1) proverb, parable, 1a) proverb, proverbial
saying, aphorism, 1b) byword
1c) similitude, parable, 1d) poem
,1e) sentences of ethical wisdom, ethical maxims
Part of Speech: noun masculine
3850 παραβολη - parabole - par-ab-ol-ay' :From G3846; a similitude (parable), that
is, (symbolically) fictitious narrative (of common life conveying a moral),
adage, comparison, figure, parable, proverb.
Acts 28 [23] And when they had appointed him / Paul a day, there
came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the
kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Yeshua,
both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.
[24] And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed
not.
[25]
And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had
spoken one word, Well spoke the Holy Ghost by Isaiah the prophet unto our fathers,
[26] Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing you shall hear,
and shall not understand; and seeing you shall see, and not perceive:
[27] For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their
ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest
they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with
their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
[28] Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent
unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.
John 12 [39] Therefore they could not believe, because that Isaiah
said again [40] He had blinded their eyes, and hardened
their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with
their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
Isa.6 [9] And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye
indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. [10]
Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with
their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and
convert, and be healed.
The complete story:
Isa.44 [13] The carpenter stretch out his rule; he marks it
out with a line; he fit it with planes, and he marks it out with the compass,
and makes it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man; that
it may remain in the house.
[14] He hewed him down cedars, and takes the cypress and the
oak, which he strengthens for himself among the trees of the forest: he planted
an ash, and the rain doth nourish it.
[15] Then shall it be for a man to burn: for he will take thereof, and
warm himself; yea, he kindled it, and bakes bread; yea, he makes a god, and worshipped it;
he makes it a graven image, and falls down thereto.
[16] He burns part thereof in the fire; with part thereof he eats flesh;
he roasts roast and is satisfied: yea, he warms himself, and said, Aha, I am
warm, I have seen the fire:
[17] And the residue thereof he makes a god, even his graven image:
he falls down unto it, and worshipped it, and prays unto it, and said, Deliver me;
for you are my god.
[18] They have not known nor understood: for he had shut their
eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.
[19]
And none considers in his heart, neither is there knowledge nor understanding
to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon
the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh, and eaten it: and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? Shall I fall down to the stock of a tree?
Isa.30 [9] ….this is a rebellious people, lying children, children
that will not hear the law of Yehovah:
Isa.59 [2]… your iniquities have
separated between you and your God, and your sins have
hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
Isa.65 [12] Therefore will I number you to the sword, and you
shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did
not answer; when I spoke , ye did
not hear ; but did evil before
mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not.
Isa.29 [13] Wherefore Yehovah
said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with
their lips do honor me, but have
removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward
me is taught by the precept of men…
Matt.15 [7] Ye hypocrites, well did
Isaiah prophesy of you, saying, [8] This people
draws nigh unto me with their mouth, and honors me with their lips; but their
heart is far from me .[9] But in
vain they do worship me, teaching for
doctrines the commandments of men.
Jer.6 [16] Thus said Yehovah, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for
the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye
shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
Zech.1[4] Be you not as your fathers, unto whom the former
prophets have cried, saying, Thus said Yehovah of
hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they
did not hear, nor hearken
unto me, said Yehovah.
Zech.7 [7] Should you not
hear the words which the LORD hath cried by the former prophets, when
Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and the cities thereof round about
her, when men inhabited the south and the plain?
[11] … they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder,
and stopped their ears that they should not hear.
[13] Therefore it is come to pass, that
as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I
would not hear, said Yehovah of hosts:
Ezek.12 [2] Son of man, you dwell in the midst of a rebellious
house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have
ears to hear, and hear not: for they
are a rebellious house.
Ezek.33 [31] And they come unto you as the people comes, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they show much love, but
their heart goes after their covetousness.[32]
And, lo, you are unto them as a
very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an
instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.
Rom.1 [28] And even as they
did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate
mind , to do
those things which are not convenient;
[29] Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness,
covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity;
whisperers,
[30] Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors
of evil things, disobedient to parents,
[31] Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural
affection, implacable, unmerciful:
[32] Who knowing the judgment
of God ,
that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same,
but have pleasure in them that do them.
Prov.1 [23] Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my
spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
[24] Because I have
called, and you refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
[25] But you have set at naught all my counsel, and
would none of my reproof:
[26] I also will laugh at your
calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
[27] When your fear
cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress
and anguish cometh upon you.
[28] Then shall they call upon me, but
I will not answer; they shall seek me early,
but they shall not find me:
early - שָׁחַר shachar
Meaning: 1) to seek, seek early or
earnestly, look early or diligently for
[29] For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the
fear of Yehovah:
[30] They would none of my
counsel: they despised all my reproof.
[31] Therefore shall they eat of the
fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
[32] For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the
prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
[33] But whoso hearkens unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet
from fear of evil.
Mal.2 [2] If you will not hear, and if you
will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, said Yehovah of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do
not lay it to heart.
It’s
worse today in the 21 Century…
