European one. As boomers age and spending grows, we will become even more

Putin Warns US about Socialism
Russian
Prime Minister Vladamir Putin has said the US should take a lesson from the
pages of Russian history and not exercise “excessive intervention in economic
activity and blind faith in the state’s omnipotence”.
“In the 20th century, the Soviet Union made the
state’s role absolute,” Putin said during a speech at the opening ceremony of the World Economic
Forum in Davos, Switzerland. “In the long run, this made the Soviet
economy totally uncompetitive. This lesson cost us dearly. I am sure nobody
wants to see it repeated.”
Sounding more like Barry Goldwater than the
former head of the KGB, Putin said, “Nor should we turn a blind eye to the fact
that the spirit of free enterprise, including the principle of personal
responsibility of businesspeople, investors, and shareholders for their
decisions, is being eroded in the last few months. There is no reason to
believe that we can achieve better results by shifting responsibility onto the
state.”
Putin also cautioned the US against using military Keynesianism to lift its economy out of
recession, saying, “in the longer run, militarization won’t solve the problem
but will rather quell it temporarily. What it will do is squeeze huge financial
and other resources from the economy instead of finding better and wiser uses
for them.” Putin’s comments come in sharp contrast to Russia’s own military
buildup and expansion.
Putin also echoed the words of conservative
maverick Ron Paul when he said, “we must assess the real situation and write
off all hopeless debts and ‘bad’ assets. True, this will be an extremely
painful and unpleasant process. Far from everyone can accept such measures,
fearing for their capitalization, bonuses, or reputation. However, we would
‘conserve’ and prolong the crisis, unless we clean up our balance sheets.”
“The time for enlightenment has come. We must
calmly, and without gloating, assess the root causes of this situation and try
to peek into the future.”

While the earth remaineth (Gen. 8:22)
Luke.19 [13] ... Occupy till I come.
----------
A short recap:
Gen. 1
[14] And God said, Let there be lights
in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night;
and let them be for
signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
[15] And let them be for lights in the
firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
[16] And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day,
and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
[17] And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon
the earth,
[18] And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the
light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
[19] And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
Interesting verses:
Jer.31 [35] Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night,
Josh. 10 [13] And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until
the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in
the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted
not to go down about a whole day.
----------
After the Flood
Gen. 8 [20] And
Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of
every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
[21] And the
LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart,
I will not again curse the ground any
more for man's sake;
for the imagination of man's heart is evil from
his youth;
neither will I again smite any more
every thing living, as I have done.
[22] While the earth
remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and
winter, and day and night shall not cease.
----------
"My bow in the
cloud"
Gen. 9 [8] And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him,
saying,
[9] And I, behold, I establish my covenant with
you, and with your seed after you;
[10] And with every living creature that is with
you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from
all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth.
[11] And I will establish my covenant
with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood;
neither shall there any more be a
flood to destroy the earth.
[12] And God
said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and
you and every living creature that is with you, for
perpetual generations:
[13] I do set my bow in
the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the
earth.
[14] And it shall come to pass, when I
bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be
seen in the cloud:
[15] And I will remember my covenant, which is
between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all
flesh.
[16] And the bow shall be
in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the
everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is
upon the earth.
[17] And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which
I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.

The day of the LORD's return
Isa. 13 [9] Behold, the day of the LORD cometh,
cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall
destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
[10] For the stars of
heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.
[11] And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for
their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the
proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
Isa. 51 [6] Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and
look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall
vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner:
but my salvation shall be for ever, and
my righteousness shall not be abolished.
---------
Matt. 24
[29] Immediately after the tribulation of those
days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the
stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
[30] And then shall
appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the
tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son
of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
[31] And he shall send his angels with a great
sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four
winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
---------
New heavens and a new earth
2 Pet. 3 [13]
Nevertheless we,
according to his promise, look for new heavens and a
new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Isa. 65 [17] For,
behold, I create new heavens and a new earth:
and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
Isa. 66 [22] For as
the new heavens and the new earth, which
I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your
name remain.
