Shabbat Shalom

שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם

Today is August 22, 2026

God has his own Calendar

Today is the 6 month called Elul, day 8

Elul, seems like it is the name of the sixth month by the two verses below:

Neh.6 [15]

So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days.

Neh.7[73]

So the priests, and the Levites, and the porters, and the singers, and some of the people, and the Nethinims, and all Israel, dwelt in their cities; and when the seventh month came, the children of Israel were in their cities.

Today’s Topic

The counsel of God

Which counsel are you hearing?

 Counsel of God

or false counsel?

Pss.1[1]

Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

Pss.2[2]

The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against Yehovah, and against his anointed, saying,

[3] Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

[4] He that sits in the heavens shall laugh: Yehovah shall have them in derision.

Pss.5[10]

Destroy you them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels;

cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against you.

Pss.13[2]

How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?

Pss.14[6]

You have shamed the counsel of the poor, because Yehovah is his refuge.

Pss.16[7]

I will bless Yehovah, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.

Pss.20[4]

Grant you according to your own heart, and fulfill all your counsel.

Pss.31[13]

For I have heard the slander of many: fear was on every side:

while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.

Pss.33[10]

Yehovah brings the counsel of the heathen to nought:

he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.

[11] The counsel of Yehovah stands for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.

Pss.55[14]

We took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of God in company.

 [2]

Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked;

from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity…

Pss.71[10]

For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take counsel together,

11 Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him.

Pss.73[24]

You shall guide me with your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

Pss.81[12]

So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels.

Pss.83[3]

They have taken crafty counsel against your people, and consulted against your hidden ones.

Pss.106[13]

They soon forgot his works; they waited not for his counsel:

[43] Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.

Pss.107[11]

Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:

Pss.119[24]

Your testimonies also are my delight and my counselors.

Prov.1[5]

A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

[25] But you have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:

[30] They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

Prov.11[14]

Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellers there is safety.

Prov.12[20]

Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellers of peace is joy.

Prov.15[22]

Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellers they are established.

Prov.24[6]

For by wise counsel you shalt make your war: and in multitude of counselors there is safety.

[34] For who hath known the mind of Yehovah?

or who hath been his counselor?

Prov.12[5]

The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.

[15] The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

[20] Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellers of peace is joy.

[22] Without counsel purposes are disappointed:

but in the multitude of counsellers they are established.

Prov.19[20]

Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that you mayest be wise in your latter end.

[21] There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of Yehovah, that shall stand.

Prov.20[5]

Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.

[18] Every purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war.

Prov.21[30]

There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against Yehovah.

Prov.22[20]

Have not I written to you excellent things in counsels and knowledge, that you might answer the words of truth to them that send unto you?

Prov.24[6]

For by wise counsel you shalt make your war: and in multitude of counsellers there is safety.

Prov.27[9]

Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel.

1Kgs.12:[1] …

Rehoboam went to Shechem: for all Israel were come to Shechem to make him king.

[2] And it came to pass, when Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who was yet in Egypt, heard of it, (for he was fled from the presence of king Solomon, and Jeroboam dwelt in Egypt;)

[3] That they sent and called him. And Jeroboam and all the congregation of Israel came, and spake unto Rehoboam, saying,

[4] Your father made our yoke grievous: now therefore make you the grievous service of your father, and his heavy yoke which he put upon us, lighter, and we will serve you.

[5] And he said unto them, Depart yet for three days, then come again to me. And the people departed.

[6] And king Rehoboam consulted with the old men, that stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, and said, How do you advise that I may answer this people?

[7] And they spoke unto him, saying, If you wilt be a servant unto this people this day, and wilt serve them, and answer them, and speak good words to them, then they will be your servants for ever.

[8] But he forsook the counsel of the old men, which they had given him, and consulted with the young men that were grown up with him, and which stood before him:

[9] And he said unto them,

What counsel give you that we may answer this people, who have spoken to me, saying,

Make the yoke which your father did put upon us lighter?

[10] And the young men that were grown up with him spoke unto him, saying,

Thus shall you speak unto this people that spoke unto you, saying, Your father made our yoke heavy,

but make you it lighter unto us; thus shall you say unto them,

My little finger shall be thicker than my father's loins.

[11] And now whereas my father did lade you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father hath chastised you with whips,

but I will chastise you with scorpions.

[12] So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam the third day, as the king had appointed, saying, Come to me again the third day.

[13] And the king answered the people roughly, and forsook the old men's counsel that they gave him;

[14] And spoke to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, and I will add to your yoke: my father also chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.

[15] Wherefore the king hearkened not unto the people; for the cause was from Yehovah, that he might perform his saying, which Yehovah spoke by Ahijah the Shilonite unto Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

Jer.23 [18]

For who hath stood in the counsel of Yehovah,

[19] Behold, a whirlwind of Yehovah is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked.

In closing for today,

Always good to get counsel from God
