Shabbat Shalom again
June 16, 2024 - Sivan 9
Today’s Topic:
The feast of weeks
Today
is the feast of harvest, the feast of weeks, Pentecost
The feasts
of Yehovah - God’s feasts are three times in a year
Offering time
Lev.23 [1] And Yehovah spoke unto Moses, saying,
[2] Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of Yehovah, which you shall proclaim to be holy
convocations, even these are My feasts.
[3]
Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest, an
holy convocation; you shall do no work therein: it is the
Sabbath of Yehovah in
all your dwellings.
[4] These are the feasts of Yehovah, even holy convocations,
which you shall proclaim in their seasons.
[15] And you shall count unto you from the morrow after the
Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Sabbaths shall be complete:
[16] Even unto the morrow after the seventh Sabbath shall you number fifty days; and you shall offer a new meat offering unto Yehovah.
[17] Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves
of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baked with
leaven; they are the first fruits unto Yehovah.
[16] And the feast
of harvest, the first fruits of your labors, which you have sown in the field:
and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year,
when you have gathered in your labors out of the field.
[17] Three times in the year all your
males shall appear before the Lord Yehovah.
Exod.34 [18]
The feast of unleavened bread shall you keep. Seven days you shall
eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, in the time of the month
Abib: for in the month Abib you came out from Egypt.
[21] Six days you shall work, but on
the seventh day you shall rest: in earring time and in harvest you shall rest.
[22] And you shall
observe the
feast of weeks, of
the first fruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering
at the year's end.
[23] Thrice in the year shall all your
men children appear before the Lord Yehovah, the God of Israel.
Offering time
Deut.16 [10] And you shall keep the feast of weeks unto Yehovah
your God with a tribute of a freewill offering of your hand, which you shall
give unto Yehovah your God, according as Yehovah your God had blessed you:
[11] And you shall rejoice before Yehovah your God, you,
and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and
the Levite that is within your gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and
the widow, that are among you, in the place which Yehovah your God had chosen
to place his name there.
[12] And you shall remember that you were a bondman in Egypt: and you
shall observe and do these statutes.
[16] Three times in a year shall all your
males appear before Yehovah your God in the place which he shall choose; in the
feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the
feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before Yehovah empty:
[17] Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of
the Yehovah your God which he had given you.
Offering
time
2Chr.8 [12]
Then Solomon offered burnt offerings unto Yehovah on the altar of Yehovah,
which he had built before the porch,
[13] Even after a
certain rate every day, offering according to the commandment of Moses, on the
Sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on
the solemn feasts, three times in the year, even in the feast of unleavened
bread, and in the feast
of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles.
Pentecost =
the fiftieth day
Acts.2 [1] And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord
in one place.
[2] And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty
wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
[3] And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it
sat upon each of them.
[4] And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak
with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
[5] And there were dwelling at
Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every
nation under heaven.
[6] Now when this
was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because
that every man heard them speak in his own language.
[7] And they were all amazed and marveled, saying one to another,
Behold, are not all these which speak Galileans?
[8] And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
[9] Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia,
and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
[10] Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about
Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
[11] Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the
wonderful works of God.
[12] And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another,
What does this mean?
[13] Others mocking said, these men are full of new wine.
[14] But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and
said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all you that dwell at Jerusalem, be this
known unto you, and hearken to my words:
[15] For these are not drunken, as you suppose, seeing it is but the third
hour of the day.
[16]
But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
[17] And it shall come to pass in the last days,
said God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your
daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old
men shall dream dreams:
[18] And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those
days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
[19] And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth
beneath; blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke:
[20] The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood,
before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
[21] And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of
the Lord shall be saved.
Back to Acts.2
[22] You men of
Israel, hear these words; Yeshua of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you
by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as
you yourselves also know:
[23] Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge
of God, you have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
[24] Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because
it was not possible that he should be holden of it.
[25] For David spoke (in Pss.16
below) concerning Him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is
on my right hand, that I should not be moved:
[26] Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover
also my flesh shall rest in hope:
[27] Because you will not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt you suffer
your Holy One to see corruption.
[28] You have made known to me the ways of life; you shall make me full
of joy with your countenance.
Pss.16
[8] I have set Yehovah always before me: because he is at
my right hand, I shall not be moved.
[9] Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices: my flesh also
shall rest in hope.
[10] For you will not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt you suffer your
Holy One to see corruption.
[11] You will show me the path of life: in your presence is fullness of
joy; at your right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Back to Acts.2
[29] Men and
brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulcher
is with us unto this day.
[30] Therefore being a prophet,
and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his
loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Messiah to sit on his throne;
[31]
He seeing this before spoke of the resurrection of Messiah, that his soul
was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
[32] This Yeshua had God rose up,
whereof we all are witnesses.
[33] Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having
received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this,
which you now see and hear.
[34] For David is not ascended into the heavens (in Psalm 110): but he said himself, Yehovah said unto my Lord
(Messiah), Sit on my right hand,
[35] Until I make your foes your footstool.
Pss.110 [1] Yehovah
said unto my Lord (Messiah), Sit you at my right hand, until I make your
enemies your footstool.
Back to Acts.2
[36]
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that
same Yeshua, whom you have crucified,
both Lord and Messiah.
[37] Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and
said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall
we do?
[38] Then Peter said unto
them, Repent, and be baptized every
one of you in the name of Yeshua the Messiah for the remission of sins, and you
shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
[39] For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that
are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
[40] And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save
yourselves from this untoward generation.
[41] Then they that
gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto
them about three thousand souls.
[42] And they
continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking
of bread, and in prayers.
[43] And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done
by the apostles.
[44] And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
[45] And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men,
as every man had need.
[46] And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and
breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and
singleness of heart,
[47] Praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord
added to the church daily such as should be saved.
Still keeping the feast after TaNaK (known
wrongly today as the Old Testament) was written
The Temple was still there in Jerusalem:
Acts.20 [16] For Paul had determined to sail by
Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: (Minor)
for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be
at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost. The feast
of harvest, the feast of weeks
1Cor.16 [8] But I will tarry at Ephesus until Pentecost. The feast of harvest, the feast of weeks
The temple was
destroyed in 70 A.D.
Now we worship God
in spirit and in truth
In closing for today,
Thanks for being here.
Sad we lost some people at the feasts (like
always)
Oh well, we push forward…
This evening, God’s spring feasts will be over
again in 2024
May God bless you all today and forever
