Shabbat Shalom
שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם
Today, we sadly use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s.
Today is 1/27/2024
Yehovah has His own calendar which is deleted from the world
Shevat, the 11th month - Zach 1:7 - in English, scripture calls it Sebat, day 15
Today’s topic:
The flesh and
the Spirit
The natural, carnal, fleshly body and the
spiritual body of God
Gen.2 [9] And out of the ground made Yehovah
God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the
tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good
and evil.
[17] But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you
shall not eat of it: for in the day that you eat thereof you shall surely die.
Gen.3 [5] For God doth know that in the day you eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
Gen.6 [5]
And יְהֹוָה Yehovah saw that the
wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the
thoughts of his heart was
only evil continually.
Carnal
Rom.8 [6] For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Carnal - 4559 σαρκικός sarkikos {sar-kee-kos'}
Meaning: 1) fleshly, carnal
1a) having the nature of flesh, i.e. under
the control of the animal appetites
1a1) governed by mere human nature not by the
Spirit of God
1a2) having its
seat in the animal nature or aroused by the animal nature
1a3) human: with
the included idea of depravity
de·prav·i·ty - moral corruption; wickedness:
1b) pertaining
to the flesh
1b1) to the
body: related to birth, linage, etc
Origin: from 4561; flesh
Usage: AV - carnal 9,
fleshly 2; 11 times
The spirit of the world, the spirit of God
1Cor. 2 [10] … God had
revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God.
[11] For what man knows the things of a man, save the spirit of man
which is in him?
Even so
the things of God knows no man, but the Spirit of God.
[12] Now we have received, not
the spirit of the world, but
the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are
freely given to us of God.
[13] Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom
teaches, but which the Holy Ghost teaches; comparing
spiritual things with spiritual.
[14] But the
natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are
foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually
discerned.
[15] But he that is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is
judged of no man…
1Cor.15
[1]
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you,
which also you have received, and wherein you stand;[2] By which also
you are saved, if you keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless you have
believed in vain.
[3] For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received,
how that Messiah died for our sins according to the scriptures;[4]
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the
scriptures:[5] And that he was seen of Cephas,
then of the twelve:
[6] After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of
whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. (are
dead)
[7] After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
[8] And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due
time.
[9] For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an
apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
[10] But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed
upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not
I, but the grace of God which was with me.
[11] Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so you
believed.
[12] Now if Messiah be preached
that he rose from the dead, how
say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
[13] But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Messiah not
risen:[14] And if Messiah be not risen, then is
our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
[15] Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have
testified of God that he raised up Messiah: whom he
raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.
[16] For if the dead rise not, then is not Messiah raised:[17] And if Messiah be not raised, your faith is
vain; you are yet in your sins.
[18] Then they also which are fallen asleep in Messiah are perished.
[19] If in this life only we have hope in Messiah, we are of all men
most miserable.
[20] But now is Messiah rose from
the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept.
[21] For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of
the dead.
[22] For as in Adam all die, even so in Messiah shall all be made alive.
[23] But every man in his own order: Messiah the first fruits; afterward
they that are Messiah's at his coming.
[24] Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to
God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority
and power.
[25] For he must reign, till he had put all enemies under his feet.
[26] The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
[27] For he had put all things under his feet. But when he said, all
things are put under him, it is manifest that he is
excepted, which did put all things under him.
[28] And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son
also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him,
that God may be all in all.
[29] Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the
dead rise not at all? Why are they then baptized for the dead? (baptized for someone who is dead)
[30] And why stand we in jeopardy every hour?
[31] I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Messiah Yeshua our Lord, I die daily.
[32] If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus,
what advantaged it me, if the dead rise not?
Let us
eat and drink; for tomorrow we die.
[33] Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
[34] Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the
knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
[35] But some man will say, how are the dead
raised up? And with what body do they come?
[36] You fool, that which you sow is not quickened, except it die:
[37] And that which you sow, you sow not that body that shall be, but
bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:[38]
But God gives it a body as it had pleased him, and to every seed his own body.
[39] All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of
men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.
[40] There are also celestial bodies and bodies terrestrial: but the
glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
[41] There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and
another glory of the stars: for one star differs from another star in glory.
[42] So
also is the resurrection of the dead.
It is sown in corruption; it is raised in
incorruption:
[43] It is sown in dishonor;
it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
[44] It is sown a natural body;
it is raised a spiritual body.
There is a natural body, and there is a
spiritual body.
[45] And so it is written, the first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
[46] Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
[47] The first man is of the earth,: the second
man is the Lord from heaven.
[48] As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the
heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
[49] And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
Quick recap:
Corruption
- incorruption
Dishonor
- glory
Weakness
- power
Natural
body - spiritual body
Living
soul - quickening spirit
Earthy
- heavenly
Mortal
– immortality - below
[50]
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of
God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
[51] Behold, I show you a mystery;
We
shall not all sleep, (be dead) but
we shall all be changed,[52] In a moment, in
the twinkling of an eye, at the last
trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised
incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
The last trump
[53]
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on
immortality.
[54]
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have
put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying
that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
[55] O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory?
[56] The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
[57] But thanks are to God, which gives us the victory through our Lord Yeshua the Messiah.
[58] Therefore, my beloved brethren, be you steadfast, unmovable, always
abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Luke 16
[19] There was a certain
rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously
every day:
[20] And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his
gate, full of sores,
[21] And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich
man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
[22] And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the
angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
[23] And in
hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and sees Abraham afar off,
and Lazarus in his bosom.
[24] And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and
cool my tongue; for I
am tormented in this flame.
[25] But Abraham said, Son, remember that you in your lifetime received
good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and you are tormented.
[26] And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which
would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us that would
come from thence.
[27] Then he said, I pray you therefore, father, that you would send him
to my father's house:
[28] For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they
also come into this place of torment.
[29] Abraham said unto him, they have Moses and the prophets; let them
hear them.
[30] And he said, Nay father Abraham: but if
one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
[31]
And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the
prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
Matt.10 [28] … fear not them
which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him
which is able to destroy both soul and
body in hell.
Pss.16 [8]
I have set יְהֹוָה Yehovah always before me: because he is at my right hand, I
shall not be moved.
[9] Therefore my heart
is glad, and my glory rejoices: my flesh also shall rest in hope. [10]
For you will not leave
my soul in hell;
neither will You suffer your Holy One (Messiah Yeshua) to see corruption.
[11] You will show me
the path of life: in your presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand there
are pleasures for evermore.
The resurrection of Messiah
Acts 2
[25]
For David speaks concerning him (in
Psalm 16 above) I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my
right hand, that I should not be moved:
[26] Therefore did my heart
rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:
[27] Because you will not leave
my soul in hell, neither wilt you suffer your Holy One to see corruption.
[28]
You have made known to me the ways of life; you shall make me full of joy with
your countenance.
[29] Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried,
and his sepulcher is with us unto this day.
[30] Therefore being a prophet,
and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his
loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Messiah to sit on his throne;
[31] He seeing this before spoke
of the resurrection of
Messiah, that
his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. (Psalm 16)
[32] This Yeshua
had God rose up, whereof we all are witnesses.
[33] Therefore being by the
right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the
Holy Ghost, he had shed forth this, which you now see and hear.
[34] For David is not ascended
into the heavens (in this Psalm):
but he said (in Psalm 110) himself, Yehovah said unto my Lord, Sit on my right hand,[35] Until I make your foes your
footstool.
Pss.110 [1] יְהֹוָה Yehovah said unto my Lord, Sit you at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.
[36]
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God had made that
same Yeshua, whom you have crucified, both Lord and
Messiah.

Eph.6 [11] Put on the whole armor of God, that
you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
[12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness
in high places.
[13] Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God that you may be able
to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Gen.6 [5] And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was
great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

[17]
For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and
these are contrary the one to the other: so that you cannot do the things that
you would.
[18] But if you be led of the Spirit, you are not under the law. (the Judgments)
[19] Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery,
fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

seditions, heresies,
