שַׁבָּת
שָׁלוֹם
Today, we sadly use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the
1500’s.
Middle English decembre
Old French decembre
Latin december "tenth month"
Latin decem "ten" + -ber (adj. suffix)
December had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until
Julius when it became 31 days long.
Yehovah has His own calendar which is
deleted from the world
We are now in the 10th month called Teveth, day 2 - Esther
2:16 - in English, scripture calls it Tebeth
Today’s topic:
The
heart
God knows the secrets of your
heart
Gen.6 [5] And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only
evil continually.
[6] And it
repented Yehovah that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at His heart.
[7] And Yehovah said, I
will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and
beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repents Me that I have made them.
And this was at the beginning; I
wonder how He feels today in 2023.
Gen.8 [21] And Yehovah smelled a sweet savor;
and Yehovah said in His heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's
sake;
for the imagination of
man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more everything
living, as I have done. (the next
time it will be fire, burned up)
Exod.35 [35] Them had God filled with wisdom of heart, to work all manner of work, of the engraver, and of
the cunning workman, and of the embroiderer, in blue, and in purple, in
scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver, even of them that do any work,
and of those that devise cunning work.
Deut.15 [9] Beware that there be not a thought in your wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at
hand; and your eye be evil against your poor brother, and you give him naught;
and he cry unto Yehovah against you, and it be sin unto you.
1Chr.2 [9] And you, Solomon my son, know you the God of
your father, and serve him with a perfect
heart and with a willing mind: for Yehovah searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of
the thoughts: if you seek Him, He will be found of you; but if you
forsake Him, He will cast you off for ever.
1Chr.29 David said:
[18] O Yehovah God of
Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this forever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of your people, and
prepare their heart unto you: [19]
And give unto Solomon my son a perfect
heart, to keep your commandments, your testimonies, and
your statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for the
which I have made provision.
Esth.6 [6] So Haman came in. And the king said unto
him, what shall be done unto the man whom the king delights to honor?
Now Haman thought in his
(evil) heart, to whom would the king delight to
do honor more than to myself? … big mistake
Jer.4 [14] O Jerusalem, wash your heart from wickedness, that you may be saved. How long shall your vain thoughts lodge within you?
Jer.9
[13] … Yehovah said, Because they
have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice,
neither walked therein; [14] But have walked after the imagination of their own
heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them:
[15] Therefore thus said Yehovah of
hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with
wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink.
[16] I will scatter them also among the heathen, whom neither they nor
their fathers have known: and I will send a sword after them, till I have
consumed them.
Jer.23
[16] Thus
said Yehovah of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets
that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of Yehovah.
[17] They say still unto them
that despise me, The Yehovah hath said, You shall have
peace; and they say unto every
one that walks after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.
[18] For who hath stood in the
counsel of Yehovah, and had perceived and heard his word? Who had marked
his word, and heard it?
[19] Behold, a
whirlwind of Yehovah is gone forth in fury, even a grievous
whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked.
[20] The anger
of Yehovah shall not return, until he have executed, and
till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days
you shall consider it perfectly.
[21] I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not
spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
[22] But if they had stood in
my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have
turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
[23] Am I a God at hand,
said Yehovah, and not a God afar off?
[24] Can any
hide himself in secret places that I shall not see
him? said Yehovah. Do not I fill heaven and
earth? said Yehovah.
[25] I have heard what the
prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name,
saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.
[26] How long shall
this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart; [27] Which think to cause my people to forget my
name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbor, as their
fathers have forgotten my name for Baal.
Jer.17 [9] The heart is deceitful above all things, and
desperately wicked: who can know it?
[10] I Yehovah search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his
ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
Pss.7 [9] Oh let the wickedness of
the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God tries the hearts
and reins.
Pss.19 [8] The statutes
of Yehovah are right, rejoicing the
heart: the commandment
of Yehovah is pure, enlightening the eyes.
Pss.33 [11] The counsel of Yehovah stands for
ever, the thoughts of His heart to all generations.
Pss.44 [20] If we have forgotten the
name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;[21] Shall not God
search this out?
Pss.45 [1] My heart is inditing a
good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my
tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
[2] Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into your lips:
therefore God hath blessed you forever.
[3] Gird your sword upon your thigh, O most mighty, with your glory and your
majesty.
[4] And in your majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and
righteousness; and your right hand shall teach you terrible things.
[5] Your arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's
enemies; whereby the people fall under you.
Pss.64 [1] Hear my voice, O God, in
my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
[2] Hide me from the secret
counsel of the wicked; from the
insurrection of the workers of iniquity:
[3] Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their
arrows, even bitter words:
[4] That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at
him, and fear not.
[5] They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily;
they say, who shall see them?
[6] They search out iniquities; they
accomplish a diligent search: both
the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.
[7] But God shall shoot at them with
an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.
[8] So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all
that see them shall flee away.
[9] And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall
wisely consider of his doing.
[10] The righteous shall be glad in Yehovah, and shall trust in him; and
all the upright in heart shall glory.
Pss.104 [14] God causes the grass to
grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth
food out of the earth; [15] And wine that makes glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengthens man's heart.
Pss.105 [1] O give thanks
unto Yehovah; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
[2] Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk you of all his wondrous works. [3]
Glory you in his holy name: let the
heart of them rejoice that seek Yehovah.
Pss.139 [23] Search me, O God, and know my heart: try
me, and know my thoughts: [24] And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

is as choice silver: the
heart of the wicked is little worth.

evil: but to the counselors of peace is
joy.

knowledge: but the

understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.
Prov.15 [7] The lips of the
wise disperse knowledge: but the
heart of the foolish doeth not so.
[11] Hell and destruction are
before Yehovah: how
much more then the hearts of the children of men?
[13] A merry heart makes
a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is
broken. [14] The heart of
him that hath understanding seeks knowledge:
but the mouth of fools feeds on foolishness.
[28] The heart of the righteous studies to answer: but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things.
[30] The light of the eyes rejoice the heart: and a good report makes the bones fat.
Prov.16
[1] The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of
the tongue are from Yehovah.
[23] The heart of the wise teaches his mouth, and adds learning to his lips.
Prov.17 [3] The fining pot
is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but Yehovah tries the
hearts.
Prov.18 [12] Before destruction the heart of man is
haughty, and before honor is humility.

heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it
out.

Prov.24 [11] If you forbear
to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be
slain;
[12] If you say, Behold, we knew it
not; does not He that ponders the
heart consider it?
And He that keeps your soul, does he
not he know it?And shall not He render to every man according to his
works?

virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

A few verses of the heart in
Ecclesiastes
Ecc.7 [3] Sorrow is better than laughter:
for by the sadness of the
countenance the heart is made better.
[4] The heart of the wise
is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house
of mirth.
[7] Surely oppression makes a wise
man mad; and a gift destroys the heart.
Ecc.8 [11] Because sentence
against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is
fully set in them to do evil.
Ecc.9 [3] This is an evil
among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all:
yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of
evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to
the dead.
Some verses in the Gospels and
Letters pertaining to the heart:
Matt.9
[1] And he entered into a ship, and
passed over, and came into his own city.
[2] And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed:
and Yeshua seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son,
be of good cheer; your sins be forgiven you.
[3] And, behold, certain of the scribes said within
themselves, This man blasphemes.
[4] And Yeshua knowing their thoughts said, wherefore think you evil in your hearts?
[5] For which is easier, to say, Thy
sins be forgiven you; or to say, Arise, and walk?[6] But that you may know that the Son of man hath power on
earth to forgive sins,(Then he said
to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up your bed, and go unto your house.
Matt.15 - Mark 7 combined
[19] For out of the heart proceeds:
evil thoughts,
murders,
adulteries,
fornications,
thefts,
false witness,
blasphemies:
adulteries,
covetousness,
wickedness,
deceit,
lasciviousness,
an evil eye,
pride,
foolishness
[20] These are the things which defile a man or woman…
