Today, we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the
1500’s,
Today is April 24, 2021
April -- Aphrodite's month
Old English April(is)
Latin Aprilis
Etruscan Apru
Greek Aphro, short for Aphrodite.
Aprilis had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius when it
became 30 days long.
Aphrodite is the Greek goddess of love and beauty. She is
identified with the Roman goddess Venus.
Yehovah God has His own calendar, which is deleted from the world
We are now in the second month called Ziv, day 11
Ziv - "brightness" - זִו
1Kgs.6 [1] And it came to pass in the four hundred
and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of
Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the
month Ziv, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of Yehovah.
[37] In
the fourth year was the foundation of the house of Yehovah laid, in the month Ziv...

This is our third Sabbath of the seven week journey again, spiritually speaking, we were told to count:
In this journey we again observe in memorial, spiritually to meet
God to receive the commandments and to receive the (Baptism) Spirit of God.
From slaves in Egypt (our last lives of sin) to the people of God
Remember: We
were told to count "Sabbaths" in:
Lev.23 [15] And you shall count unto you from the morrow after
the Sabbath, from the day that you
brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Sabbaths shall
be complete:[16] Even unto the
morrow after the seventh Sabbath shall you number fifty days; and you shall offer a new meat offering unto Yehovah.
Not to count omers like many people are doing which sounds
ridiculous and unscriptural.
An "omer" is a "sheaf" of barley - עמר omer - A dry measure of 1/10 ephah (about 2 liters)
Soon:
Hag Sh'vu-ot - חַג
שָׁבֻעֹת - Feasts of Weeks / Harvest / Pentecost, a Sabbath “Offering time” - Sunday May 23, 2021
Today’s Topic
The mind
The mind: of Yehovah /Yeshua and all of us
In this short study, we will learn about the mind
Too my surprise, the word, mind in
Hebrew and Greek are many different words, too many to list for today.
The word, remember has to do with the mind, maybe next time a look
into that word will be done.
For now, the mind
The word mind is used many
different ways in scripture; I listed a few ways for us to think about (some
maybe duplicate)
Isa. 26:3 I re-phased - God will keep him / her in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on God: because you trust in God.
Here is a list
Most of these terms can be
used for good or evil:
Grief of mind
Some people speak their minds
Some people are steadfastly minded to…
You can
set or not set your mind on…
Be minded of their
own freewill to go up to…
You may be minded to
repair the house of Yehovah …
You may
bring it again to mind…
You can be
chafed in minds of
people…
(chafed : angry,
bitter (-ly, -ness),
discontented…)
A mind to work
You may
change your mind
Despiteful minds
Having a fervent mind
A willing mind
A ready mind
Some minds are hardened
in pride
You can be
forgotten as David said – as a dead man out of mind
Some
people may not be mindful of God’s wonders that He did among them (and us
today)
Don’t make
your minds evil affected against anyone
Doing them, things or not doing them of you own mind
Your mind may be for or against
a person, a place, an event or whatever…
Some are vainly puffed up by their
fleshly minds
Watch what
comes into your mind by Satan, the prince of the power of the
air, the spirit that now
works in the children of disobedience…
Cast in your mind what manner of salutation (greeting) you give
people…
Receiving
the word with all
readiness of mind, searched the scriptures daily
Don’t be shaken in mind
Watch, your mind and conscience can be defiled
A sound mind
Sober minded
A double minded man
or woman maybe unstable in all their
ways.
Most
people have an alienated
mind from God…
Otherwise (differently) minded…
For consider Yeshua that endured such
contradiction of sinners against himself, lest you be wearied and faint in your minds.
Some have corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth,
supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
You may recall to your mind (God), therefore
having hope
May we
always be in a right mind
Always try
to call
to mind the words that Yeshua spoke…
Always be fully persuaded in your own mind of the truth of the scriptures
Pure minds
Serve the Lord Yeshua with all humility of mind
A mind which hath wisdom
Many people’s minds are blinded from the truth
2 Cor.4 [4] In whom the god of this world hath blinded
the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Messiah, who is the
image of God, should shine unto them
God knows
what comes into your minds:
Ezek.11 [5] And the Spirit of Yehovah fell
upon me, and said unto me, Speak; Thus says Yehovah;
Thus have you said, O house of Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind,
every one of them. If you
don’t do what Yehovah wants you to
do, Yehovah can give you a trembling heart, and failing of eyes,
and sorrow of mind
God always will be ever be mindful
of His covenant (s)
Make sure
you don’t forget the
God of your salvation, and have not been mindful of the rock of your
strength…
Rom.1 [28] If you don’t like
to retain God in your knowledge, God can turn you over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient…
Peter said:
Gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end
for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Yeshua the Messiah
Let’s examine in other
verses the mind, our mind, God’s mind:
Pss.115 [12] Yehovah hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of
Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.
Prov.21 [27] The sacrifice
of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he brings it
with a wicked mind?
Prov.29 [11] A fool utters all his mind: but a wise man keeps it in until
afterwards.
Job 23 tells us:
[13] …He is in one mind, and who can turn Him? And what His
soul desires, even that He does.
[14] For
He performs the thing that is
appointed for me: and many such things are with Him.
[15]
Therefore am I troubled at His presence: when I consider, I am afraid of Him.
[16] For God makes my
heart soft, and the Almighty troubles me:
Pss.8 - Messiah
[1] Yehovah our Lord, how
excellent is your name in all the earth! Who had set your glory above the heavens.
[2] Out of
the mouth of babes and sucklings had You ordained
strength because of your enemies,
that You might still the enemy
and the avenger.
[3] When I
consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the
moon and the stars, which You had ordained;
[4] What is man, that You Father are mindful of him? And the son
of man, that You visit Him?
[5] For You had made Him, Messiah a little lower than the angels,
and had crowned Him Messiah with glory and honor.
[6] You made HimMessiah to have
dominion over the works of Your hands Father; You had put all things under His
feet:
[7] All
sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
[8] The
fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passes through the paths of the seas.
[9] Yehovah our Lord, how
excellent is your name in all the earth!
Lev.24
[10] And the son of an Israelitish woman, whose father was
an Egyptian, went out among the children of Israel: and this son of the Israelitish woman and a man of Israel
strove together in the camp;
[11] And the Israelitish woman's son blasphemed the name
of Yehovah, and cursed.
And they brought him unto
Moses: (and his mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan:)
[12] And they put him in ward, that the mind of Yehovah might be showed them.
[13] And Yehovah spoke unto Moses, saying,
[14] Bring forth him that hath cursed without the camp;
and let all that heard him lay their hands upon his head, and let all the
congregation stone him.
[15] And you shall speak unto the children of Israel, saying, whosoever curses his God shall bear his sin.
[16] And he that blasphemes the
name of Yehovah, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation
shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the
land, when he blasphemes the name of Yehovah, shall be put to death.
1Chr.16 [15] Be mindful always of God’s covenant; the word which He commanded to a thousand
generations; [16] Even of the covenant which he
made with Abraham, and of his oath unto Isaac;
[17] And did confirmed the same to Jacob for a law, and
to Israel for an everlasting covenant,
[18] Saying, unto you will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your
inheritance;
[19] When you were but few, even a few, and strangers in
it.
[20] And when they went from nation to nation, and from
one kingdom to another people;
[21] He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, God
reproved kings for their sakes,
[22] Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets
no harm.
1Chr.22 [7] And David said to Solomon, My son,
as for me, it was in my mind to
build a house unto the name of Yehovah my
God:
[8] But the word of Yehovah came to me, saying, you had
shed blood abundantly, and had made great wars: you shall not build a house unto my name, because you had
shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.
[9] Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of
rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name
shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.
[10] He shall build a house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I
will be his father; and I will establish throne of his kingdom over Israel for
ever.
A willing mind – God understands all the imaginations of the thoughts
Chr.28
[9] And you, Solomon my
son, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for Yehovah searches all hearts, and understands all
the imaginations of the thoughts: if you seek Him, He will be found of thee; but if you forsake Him, He will cast thee
off for ever.
Matt.22
[37] Yeshua said unto him, you shall love the
Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
1Sam.2
[30] …Yehovah God of Israel
said:
[35]… I will raise me up a
faithful priest, that shall
do according to that which is in Mine heart and in My
mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he
shall walk before Mine anointed forever.
Luke.12
[22] … Yeshua said unto His disciples, Therefore
I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what you shall
eat; neither for the body, what you shall put on.
[23] The life is more than meat,
and the body is more than raiment.
[24] Consider the ravens: for they
neither sow nor reap; which neither
have storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them: how much more are you
better than the fowls?
[25] And which of you with taking
thought can add to his stature one cubit?
[26] If you then be not able to do
that thing which is least, why take you thought for the rest?
[27] Consider the lilies how they
grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all
his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
[28] If then God so clothe the
grass, which is to day in the field, and tomorrow is cast into the
oven; how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith?
[29] … seek not what you
shall eat, or what you shall drink, neither be you of doubtful mind.
[30] For all these things do the
nations of the world seek after: and your Father knows that you have need of these things.
[31] But rather seek you the kingdom of God; and all
these things shall be added unto you.
[32] Fear not, little flock; for it
is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Isa.65
[17] For, behold, I
create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come
into mind. [18] But be you glad and
rejoice forever in that which I
create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.
[19] And
I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping
shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
Saul writes to the Ephesians
Watch: fulfilling the desires of the
flesh and of the mind
Eph.2
[1] …you had He
quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
[2]
Wherein in time past you walked according to the course of this world,
according to Satan
- the prince of the power of
the air, the spirit that now works in the children of
disobedience:
[3] Among
whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the
flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as
others.
[4] But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great
love wherewith He loved us,
[5] Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened
us together with Messiah, (by grace ye are saved )
[6] And had raised us up together, and made us sit together in
heavenly places in Messiah Yeshua:
[7] That in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches
of His grace in His kindness toward us through Messiah Yeshua.
Eph.4
[17] This I say therefore,
and testify in the Lord Yeshua, that you
henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
[18] Having the understanding
darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in
them, because of the blindness of their heart:
[19] Who being past feeling have
given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with
greediness.
[20] But you have
not so learned Messiah;
[21] If so
be that you have heard Him, and have been taught by Him, as the truth is
in Yeshua:
[22] That you
put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt
according to the deceitful lusts;
[23]
And be
renewed in the spirit of your mind;
[24] And
that you put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and
true holiness.
[25]
Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor: for we are members one of another.
Saul reports to the Romans:
Rom.7
[23] But I see another law
in my members, warring against the
law of my mind, and
bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. [24] O
wretched man that I am!
Who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
[25] I thank God
through Yeshua the Messiah our Lord.
So then with the mind I myself serve
the law of God; but with
the flesh the law of sin.
Rom.12
[2]… be
not conformed to this world: but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and
perfect, will of God.
[16] Be of the same mind one toward
another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate.
Be not wise in your own
conceits.
Rom.15
We should [6] That we
may - with one mind and one mouth glorify
God, even the Father of our Lord Yeshua the
Messiah.
Saul tells the Corinthians:
1 Cor.1
[10] Now I beseech you,
brethren, by the name of our Lord Yeshua the
Messiah, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions
among you; but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and
in the same judgment.
2 Cor.11
[3] But I fear, lest by any
means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty,
so your minds should be
corrupted from the simplicity
that is in Messiah.
Back to the letter to the
Romans
Rom.8
[1] There
is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Messiah Yeshua, who walk not after the flesh,
but after the Spirit.
[2] For the law of
the Spirit of life in Messiah Yeshua hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
[3] For what the
law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own
Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
[4] That
the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the
flesh, but after the Spirit.
[5] For they that are after the
flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the
Spirit.
[6] For to be carnally minded is
death;
but to be
spiritually minded is life and peace.
[7] Because the carnal mind is enmity
against God: for it
is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
[8] So then they that are in the
flesh cannot please God.
[9] But you are
not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in
you. Now if any person, have not
the Spirit of Messiah, they are none of God’s.
[10] And if
Messiah be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life
because of righteousness.
[11] But if the
Spirit of the Father that raised up Yeshua from the dead dwell in you, The Father
that rose up Messiah from the
dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwells
in you.
Rom.11
[34] For who hath known the mind of the
Lord Yehovah /Yeshua?
or who
hath been His counselor?
[35] Or who hath
first given to Him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
[36] For of Him, and through Him, and
to Him, are all things: to whom be glory forever. Amen.
1Cor.2 [16]
For who hath known the mind of Yehovah,
that he / she may instruct Him?
But we have the mind of Messiah
In closing:
Finally, be you all of one mind, having compassion one of
another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous…
Be likeminded, having
the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in
lowliness of mind let each esteem others
better than themselves.
Let
this mind be in you, which was also in Messiah Yeshua…
Please stand fast in one spirit,
with one mind striving together for the
faith of the gospel
2Cor.13 [11] Finally, brethren
(and sisters), farewell.
Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace
shall be with you.
Next week will be, Lord willing, the 4th Sabbath of the
seven we were told to count.
