Today we use the
Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s.
September 5, 2020
September -- the seventh month – Now the
ninth month
Middle English septembre
Latin September
Latin septem "seven"
+ -ber (adj. suffix)
Latin september mensis "seventh
month"
September had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius when it
became 30 days long.
Yehovah God has His own calendar, which is deleted from the world
We are now in the 6th month of God called Elul, day 16
Neh.6 [15] So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day
of the month Elul , אֱלוּל in fifty and two days
Neh.7 [73] So the priests, and the Levites, and the porters, and the
singers, and some of the people, and the Nethinims,
and all Israel, dwelt in their cities; and when the seventh month came, the children of Israel were in their
cities.

Today’s Topic:
The prayers
of saints
This is such a huge
subject – too big for one study
In our bible search:
Rev.5 [8] And when he had taken the book, the
four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every
one of them harps, and golden vials full of odors, which are the prayers of saints.
Rev.8 [3] And another angel came and stood at
the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense,
that he should offer it with the prayers
of all saints upon the golden altar
which was before the throne.[4] And the
smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers
of the saints, ascended up before God
out of the angel's hand. [5] And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire
of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings,
and lightnings,
and an earthquake.
Some Psalms and Proverbs
Pss.4 [1] Hear me when I call, O God of my
righteousness: you hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me,
and hear my prayer.
Pss.5 [3] My voice shall you
hear in the morning, Yehovah; in the
morning will I direct my prayer unto you, and will look up.
Pss.6 [9] The Yehovah
hath heard my supplication; Yehovah will receive
my prayer.
Pss.17 [1] Hear the right, Yehovah,
attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer,
that goeth not out of
feigned lips.
Pss.35 [13] But as for me, when they were sick,
my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned
into mine own bosom.
Pss.39 [12] Hear my prayer,
Yehovah,
and give ear unto my cry; hold not your peace at my
tears: for I am a stranger with you, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.
Pss.42 [8] Yet Yehovah
will command his loving-kindness in the daytime, and in the night his song
shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.
Pss.54 [2] Hear my prayer,
O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.
Pss.55 [1] Give ear to my prayer, O
God; and hide not yourself from my supplication.
Pss.61[1] Hear my cry, O God;
attend unto my prayer.
Pss.64 [1] Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer:
preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
Pss.65 [2] O you that hears prayer,
unto you shall all flesh come.
Pss.66 [19] But verily God hath heard me; he
hath attended to the voice of my prayer.[20]
Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy
from me.
Pss.69 [13] But as for me, my prayer is
unto you, Yehovah,
in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of your mercy hear me, in the
truth of your salvation.
Pss.80 [4] Yehovah
God of hosts, how long will you be angry against the prayer of
your people?
Pss.84 [8] Yehovah
God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O
God of Jacob. Selah.
Pss.86 [6] Give ear, Yehovah,
unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.
[1] Yehovah God of my
salvation, I have cried day and night before you:
[2] Let my prayer come before you: incline your ear unto my
cry;
[3] For my soul is full of troubles: and my life draws nigh unto the
grave.
[4] I am counted with them that go down into the pit: I am as a man that
hath no strength:
[5] Free among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave, whom you
remember no more: and they are cut off from your hand.
[6] Thou hast laid me in the lowest pit, in darkness, in the deeps.
[7] Thy wrath lieth hard upon me,
and you hast afflicted me with all your waves. Selah.
[8] Thou hast put away mine acquaintance far from me; you
hast made me an abomination unto them: I am shut up, and I cannot come forth.
[9] Mine eye mourn by reason of affliction: Yehovah,
I have called daily upon you, I have stretched out my hands unto you.
[10] Wilt you show wonders to the dead? shall
the dead arise and praise you? Selah.
[11] Shall your loving-kindness be declared in the grave? or
your faithfulness in destruction?
[12] Shall your wonders be known in the dark? and
your righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?
[13] But unto you have I cried, Yehovah; and in the
morning shall my prayer prevent you.
[14] Yehovah, why cast you off my soul? why
hide you your face from me?
[15] I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up: while I suffer
your terrors I am distracted.
[16] Thy fierce wrath goes over me; your terrors have cut me off.
[17] They came round about me daily like water; they compassed me about
together.
[18] Lover and friend hast you put far from me, and mine acquaintance
into darkness.
Pss.102 [1] Hear my prayer,
Yehovah,
and let my cry come unto you.
[17] He, Yehovah
will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.
Pss.109 [[1] Hold not thy peace, O God
of my praise;
[2] For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened
against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue.
[3] They compassed me about also with words of hatred; and fought
against me without a cause.
[4] For my love they are my adversaries: but
I give myself unto prayer.
[5] And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for
my love.
[6] Set thou a wicked man over him: and let
Satan stand at his right hand.
[7] When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.
[8] Let his days be few; and let another take his office.
[9] Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.
Pss.141 [2] Let my prayer be
set forth before you as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening
sacrifice.
[5] Let the
righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be
an
excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also
shall be in their calamities.
Pss.143 [1] Hear my prayer, Yehovah,
give ear to my supplications: in your faithfulness answer me, and in your
righteousness.
Prov.15 [8] The sacrifice of the
wicked is an abomination to Yehovah: but the prayer of
the upright is his delight.
[29] The Yehovah
is far from the wicked: but he hears the prayer of the
righteous.
Prov.28 [9] He that turns away his ear from
hearing the law, even his prayer shall
be abomination.
Pss.4 [1] Hear me when I call, O God of my
righteousness: you hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me,
and hear my prayer.
Pss.5 [2] Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my
King, and my God: for unto you will I pray.[3]
My voice shall you hear in the morning, O Yehovah;
in the morning will I direct my prayer unto you, and will look up.
Pss.6 [9] The Yehovah
hath heard my supplication; the Yehovah will receive
my prayer.
Pss.17 [1] Hear the right, O Yehovah,
attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer,
that goes not out of feigned (disingenuous, not
genuine) lips.
Pss.32 [6] For this shall every
one that is godly pray unto you in a time when you mayest
be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto
him.
Pss.35 [13] But as for me, when they were sick,
my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer
returned into mine own bosom.
Pss.39 [12] Hear my prayer,
O Yehovah,
and give ear unto my cry; hold not your peace at my
tears: for I am a stranger with you, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.
Pss.42 [8] Yet the Yehovah
will command his loving-kindness in the daytime, and in the night his song
shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.
Pss.54 [2] Hear my prayer,
O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.
Pss.55 [1] Give ear to my prayer, O God; and hide not yourself
from my supplication.
[17] Evening, and
morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear
my voice.
Pss.61 [1] Hear my cry, O God;
attend unto my prayer.
Pss.64 [1] Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer:
preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
Pss.65 [2] O you that hears prayer,
unto you shall all flesh come.
Pss.66 [19] But verily God hath heard me; he
hath attended to the voice of my prayer.
[20] Blessed be
God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor
his mercy from me.
Pss.69 [13] But as for me, my prayer
is unto you, O Yehovah, in an acceptable time: O God,
in the multitude of your mercy hear me, in the truth of your salvation.
Pss.80 [4] O Yehovah
God of hosts, how long will you be angry against the prayer of your
people?
Pss.84 [8] O Yehovah
God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O
God of Jacob. Selah.
Pss.86 [6] Give ear, O Yehovah,
unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.
Pss.102 [1] Hear my prayer,
O Yehovah,
and let my cry come unto you. [17] He will regard the prayer
of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.
Pss.109 [4] For my love they are
my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer. [7] When he shall
be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.
Pss.119 [76] Let, I pray you,
your merciful kindness be for my comfort,
according to your word unto your servant.
Pss.122 [6] Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love you.
Pss.141 [2] Let my prayer be
set forth before you as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening
sacrifice. [5] Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and
let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil,
which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in
their calamities.
Pss.143 [1] Hear my prayer, O Yehovah,
give ear to my supplications: in your faithfulness answer me, and in your
righteousness.
Prov.15 [8] The sacrifice of the
wicked is an abomination to the Yehovah: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
[29] The Yehovah
is far from the wicked: but he hears the prayer of the righteous.
Some prayers:
King Solomon’s pray
1Kgs.8
Daniel’s pray
Chapters 6 and 9
Zacharias, Mary’s pray
Luke 1
Simeon’s
prayer
Luke 2
1Kgs.9
[1] And it came to pass, when Solomon had
finished the building of the house of Yehovah, and the
king's house, and all Solomon's desire which he was pleased to do,
[2] That Yehovah appeared to Solomon the second
time, as he had appeared unto him at Gibeon.
[3] And Yehovah said unto him, I
have heard your prayer and your supplication, that you hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which you
hast built, to put my name there forever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be
there perpetually.
[4] And if you wilt walk before me, as David your father walked, in
integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have
commanded you, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:
[5] Then I will establish the throne of your kingdom upon Israel for
ever, as I promised to David your father, saying, There shall not fail you a
man upon the throne of Israel.
Hezekiah’s
prayer
2Kgs.20
[1] In those days was Hezekiah
sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah
the son of Amoz
came to him, and said unto him, Thus says Yehovah,
Set your house in order; for you shall die, and not live.
[2] Then he turned his face to the wall,
and prayed unto Yehovah, saying,[3]
I beseech you, Yehovah, remember now how I have walked
before you in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good
in your sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.
[5] Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus says Yehovah,
the God of David your father, I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears:
behold, I will heal you: on the third day you shall go up unto the house of Yehovah.
[6] And I will add unto your days fifteen years; and I will deliver you
and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this
city for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.
[7] And Isaiah said, Take a lump of figs. And they took and laid it on
the boil, and he recovered.
[8] And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, What shall be the sign that Yehovah
will heal me, and that I shall go up into the house of Yehovah
the third day?
[9] And Isaiah said, This sign shall you
have of Yehovah,
that Yehovah
will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forth ten degrees,
or go back ten degrees?
[10] And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing
for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return backward
ten degrees.
[11] And Isaiah the prophet cried unto Yehovah:
and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in
the dial of Ahaz.
Some Gospels and letters:
Acts.6
[1] And in those days, when the number of
the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against
the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.
[2] Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and
said, It
is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.
[3] Wherefore, brethren, look you out among you seven men of honest
report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint
over this business.
[4] But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
Acts.10
[1] There was a certain man in Caesarea
called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,
[2] A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave
much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.
[3] He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an
angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.
[4] And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, what is it,
Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and your alms are come up for a
memorial before God.
[31]…Cornelius,
your prayer is heard, and your alms are
had in remembrance in the sight of God.
Rom.1 [9] For God is my witness, whom I serve with
my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you
always in my prayers; 10] Making request,
if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of
God to come unto you.
[11] For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some
spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;
[12] That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the
mutual faith both of you and me.
Rom.10 [1] Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
Rom.12 [4]
For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same
office:
[5] So we, being many, are one body in Messiah, and every one members
one of another.
[6] Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to
us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
[7] Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teaches, on
teaching;
[8] Or he that exhorts, on exhortation: he that gives, let him do it
with simplicity; he that rules, with diligence; he that sheweth
mercy, with cheerfulness.
[9] Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave
to that which is good.
[10] Be kindly affectionate one to another with brotherly love; in honor
preferring one another;
[11] Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
[12] Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;[13] Distributing to the
necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
[14] Bless them which persecute
you: bless, and curse not.
[15] Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
[16] Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but
condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
[17] Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the
sight of all men.
[18] If it be possible, as much as lies in you, live
peaceably with all men.
[19] Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath:
for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says the Lord.
[20] Therefore if your enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him
drink: for in so doing you shall heap coals of fire on his head.
[21] Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
Rom.15 [30] Now I beseech you, brethren, for the
Lord Yeshua
the Messiah's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that you strive together
with me in your prayers to God for me; [31]
That I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judaea; and that my
service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints;
[32] That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with
you be refreshed.
[33] Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.
Eph.1 [15] Wherefore
I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the
saints,
[16] Cease not to
give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;[17]
That the God of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah,
the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in
the knowledge of him:[18] The eyes of your understanding being
enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the
riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,[19] And what is
the exceeding greatness of his power to us ward who believe, according to the
working of his mighty power,
[20] Which he wrought in Messiah, when he raised him from the dead, and
set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,[21] Far above all
principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named,
not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:[22] And hath
put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to
the church,[23] Which is his body, the fullness of him that fills all in
all.
Eph.6 [10] Finally,
my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
[11] Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against
the wiles of the devil.
[12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this
world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
[13] Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God that you may be able
to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
[14] Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and
having on the breastplate of righteousness;
[15] And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
[16] Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith you shall be able
to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
[17] And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God:
[18] Praying always with all
prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching
thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;[19] And
for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly,
to make known the mystery of the gospel,[20] For which I am an
ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
Phil.1 [3] I
thank my God upon every remembrance of you,
[4] Always in
every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,
[5]
For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;
[6] Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good
work in you will perform it until the day of Yeshua
the Messiah:[7] Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all,
because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defense
and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers of my grace.
Phil.4 [6] Be careful for
nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with
thanksgiving let your requests be
made known unto God.
Col.4 [1] Masters, give unto your
servants that which is just and equal; knowing that you also have a Master in
heaven.
[2] Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
[3] Withal
praying also for us, that God would open
unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Messiah, for which I am
also in bonds:[4] That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.
[5] Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.
[6] Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that you
may know how you ought to answer every man.
1Thes.1 [2] We give thanks to God always for you
all, making mention of you in our prayers; [3] Remembering without
ceasing your work of faith, and labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord
Yeshua
the Messiah, in the sight of God and our Father;[4] Knowing, brethren
beloved, your election of God.
1Tim.2 [1] I exhort therefore, that, first of
all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;[2]
For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and
peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
Jas.5 [13] Is
any among you afflicted? let
him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
[14] Is any sick among you? let him call for the
elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the
name of the Lord:[15] And the prayer of
faith shall save the sick,
and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be
forgiven him.
[16] Confess your
faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The
effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
1Pet.4 [7]…the
end of all things is at hand: be you therefore sober, and watch
unto prayer. [8]
And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves:
for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
[9] Use hospitality one to
another without grudging.
One more Psalm:
Pss.72 - Messiah
[1] Give the king
your judgments, O God, and your righteousness unto the king's son.
[2] He shall judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with
judgment.
[3] The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills,
by righteousness.
[4] He shall judge the poor of the people; he shall save the children of
the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.
[5] They shall fear you as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout
all generations.
[6] He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that
water the earth.
[7] In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so
long as the moon endures.
[8] He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto
the ends of the earth.
[9] They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his
enemies shall lick the dust.
[10] The kings of Tarshish and of the
isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba
shall offer gifts.
[11] Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve
him.
[12] For he shall deliver the needy when he cries; the poor also, and
him that hath no helper.
[13] He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the
needy.
[14] He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious
shall their blood be in his sight.
[15] And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba:
prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised.
[16] There shall be a handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the
mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city
shall flourish like grass of the earth.
[17] His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long
as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call Him blessed.
[18]
Blessed be the Yehovah God, the God of Israel, who
only doeth wondrous things.
[19]
And blessed be His glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled
with his glory; Amen, and Amen.
[20]
The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended. … and so is the study
for now.
1Thes. 5 [17] Pray without ceasing.
In closing
for now:

God nothing shall be impossible.
